all right welcome back to the channel on today's episode we're going to be covering what i believe to be the essential items that you need to wash your car like a professional now you could always have pressure washers on the wall with reels and cool all this cool equipment all this stuff makes your job a lot easier but is it essential no it's not so i'm going to cover all the things that i feel like is part of your essential kit and here we go let's get started let's start with the wheels so with wheels and tires the first thing i want to talk about is you need a good wheel cleaner i use pns brake buster and i'll tell you what it's not acidic you can dilute it down based on how dirty your wheels are it lasts a long time it's affordable really easy to use i'll put a link to the full wheel and tire detail up above and also down in the description so you can see my whole process but for this video i'm just going to jump into the types of products that i use overall and so i love this product in order to spray it on if you do get a gallon which i do use a lot of this product so i want a gallon it does come in smaller amounts if you just want to try it out i recommend a gallon but with a gallon you need a sprayer now i choose a pump sprayer man this lays on a nice big amount of foam all around the wheels it goes on easy makes my life a lot easier it's money well spent but if you want to get down to the bare essentials just a normal spray bottle no problem if this works just as well so once we got the brake buster on we need to get back in there and clean out those wheelbarrows and i'll tell you what you need a good wheelbarrow brush uh good protective edge on the on the back so you're not scratching and tearing up the rims nice protective ring here and comfortable and easy to use now to clean the tires i like a tire brush this is a stiff bristle it's got a place to put my thumb i can really agitate the surface of those tires get all that dirt off all that grime and get it back to like new condition so that we can apply our protectant on after and it's going to lay on nice and look good now to rinse all my tools off i like a black bucket black for me equals wheels i do keep lids on all my buckets after they dry so contaminants don't get inside in this bucket i use a single grit guard i don't need a scrubbing board on it because i'm not scrubbing my my wheel brushes on it but this just allows the grit to fall down below the guard set down there so that when i'm dipping my my tools in there i'm not dragging uh what i what i rinsed off in there earlier back onto the rims again that's what we definitely don't want to do so i have a separate wheel bucket and that pretty much wraps up washing the wheels but now we have to apply product to it so first off i like to dry the wheels again with a black microfiber towel black equals wheels so i just go ahead that way after i use this and i wash it and i bring it back out i don't end up with it on my paint i definitely don't want that so i separate black microfiber towel to dry the wheels once the wheels are nice and dry i use i'm not a huge chemical guy fan but i'm also not opposed to them if they have a good product and i believe that the vrp does a good job it doesn't sling it leaves a nice protective coating on there it's kind of a matte finish it's not shiny and that's what i like in order to apply it i use a hex applicator now this just reduces product waste it's easy to put on it keeps it from getting all over the wheels it just makes life a lot easier you probably could put it on with a microfiber but then we'd be thrashing and putting all this stuff on our microfiber so to me this is important i like it it's good for your tool kit all right so that pretty much wraps up wheels and tires so let's go ahead and talk about washing the car now again there's a million ways people do this this is the way i like to do it i use a two bucket method i only have one bucket up here but i'm confident this is my wash bucket it's got the hawaii flag on it i know that that is the one i use with my wash so and i have a rinse bucket as well so inside the wash bucket on this one this has a grit guard with a scrub area so you can scrub off the you know the microfiber mitt to get all the dirt off and then it falls down below the grit guard and just lays on the bottom of the bucket so that's important and again i like lids for all my buckets after they're dry the soap i like to use i use adam's car shampoo man you just can't go wrong it's a good product there's a million of them out there most of them are probably pretty good but this is what i use it goes a long way and works really good smells good too to do the wash i use a microfiber wash mitt i just feel like this is good to use it's comfortable and it gets the job done really well so there's my wash bucket my product my wash mitt there's not much else to say about that i have a full video on how to do an exterior wash i'll put a link up here and you can check out my full process but we're just talking essential products now for those you that live in water restricted areas man i think that this product is really cool i've used it a bunch of times i really like it of course when i first heard about it i'm like man you're going to scratch to paint the bits but it just didn't happen it does work it works well so it's optimum no rinse wash and shine now in order to use this it's one ounce for two gallons of water and you do not need to rinse it after but i do use again this is a blue product i use blue towels i like to keep all my towels matching what i'm doing so i don't mix match and contaminate them so with this i do a full wash video with optimum no rants i'll put a link up there for that too so you can check it out but there's a whole process of how you do this so anybody who lives in a water restricted area then you could forget about this watch system and you could go straight to optimum novents that's going to work great for you or if it's freezing cold and it jumps just above 32 degrees and you can hurry up and get out there and do a wash this is your guy so that's all i got to say about a no rinse wash solution i feel like that's a great part of your essential wash kit okay so we've taken ourselves all the way down to we've washed the wheels we've washed the car now we have to dry it so what i like to do is i like to use a nice large high quality microfiber drying towel now man i can do the entire car with this i don't even really i don't think i've ever had to wring this out unless i'm on a really large vehicle man it can hold a lot of water and it does really well so i like this and when i store it's a little tip for you when i'm storing these i always put the the shaggy part inside because that's the side i wipe on the car that way when i'm handling these and they end up around my shop they're not picking up debris in there and end up scratching them you know turning paint in the mint speed that's definitely what we don't want to do so we do in our initial dry and a product i like to use is bead maker man this stuff now here's my thought on this yeah we can get a product that'll sit on the paint for you know they claim one year two year three years but man i like to use this every single time i dry the car it's a nice drying lubricant so i my favorite part about it is does this last a year no it does not but it lasts at least a month or two and i wash my car more routinely than that it probably lasts even longer than that but i'm i'm making a point that this lasts at least until my next wash so i want to i use this pretty much every time i spray it on the wet car dry it with the drying towel so that it's nice and lubricated after that process and again you can see here i get it into gallons it's affordable and this is the same deal with this if you get a gallon and you don't get the small one you're going to need a spray bottle pretty straight forward on that but i i ended up getting one that had a spray bottle and i just continued to refill it it's great so if you want to see a full dry process i also did a video on how to dry your vehicle and i show that whole process one last thing some of the areas like around the mirrors and around the emblems and things that tend to have those drips afterwards i come back i go all the way around the car and spray it around and i use a towel specifically for paint and again you know i like things matching orange equals bead maker equals paint so i never i never have to worry about did i use this on the wheels did i use this on the interior it's only for the bead maker so i recommend having color matching towels that's that's important too so that takes us through the drying process now let's talk about the interior now you guys know i've been doing a lot of videos about the interior i found this express interior cleaner man i gotta tell you it's a really good product it's easy to use it goes on easy it wipes off easy it dissipates and there's no evidence left that you were even there cleaning it so i like this product i use a microfiber towel blue for me is interior so i dark blue that is so i thought you know it's not the same as these but when i clean the interior i know i'm using towels that i generally only use on interior so i don't have to worry about any contamination and you can see all my videos i'll put a link to some of those up top and you can see the whole tesla care playlist on the bottom to see all the videos that how i do the interior i also like to keep some of the yellow microfiber towels this is just miscellaneous if i'm in the trunk or in the door just anywhere that's not like a typical known uh microfiber towel collar yellow just kind of gets the job done for those miscellaneous spots now with some things i like the spray protectant on it this is a a uv protection like oh my dash i'll use uv protection now one thing in my personal vehicle i have uv tints all the way around it so i'm not that worried about protecting it from uv so i tend to use the expressing interior cleaner all by itself but if you want uv protection 303 will do it the trouble is you know they say it doesn't i know it does it leaves behind a little bit of a shine to it so you kind of got to rub it in and get it all even and again in the interior cleaning video i'll put a link up here it shows you my in-depth interior cleaning uh process and you can see how i do it but that's the products i think are essential for interior now one last thing we got glass now on the exterior with the glass i just go ahead and use the bead maker and i you can use a bead maker to clean the glass on the outside i don't see any reason to use the the proper glass cleaner on the exterior to vehicle now if you're fighting to get through some grime or something maybe but normally after your wash process and then rubbing bead maker on the windows the windows are good to go on the outside on the inside on the other hand i like to use stoner's invisible glass it works great it's streak free it's tint safe you don't have to worry about it getting underneath your tints and bubble them up or any discoloring or anything like that works awesome another essential item on the windows is a very low pile glass microfiber now this doesn't have any lint associated with it after you're done your window it is lint free it's streak free and man it works great and it's super thin it's zero absorbency to this so it pretty much just cleans it off and leaves a nice clean area with no lint and so pretty much that's my entire wash process if you guys have any questions about anything i've covered and again this is just essential items that i think you should have you know could you maybe drop one or two things yeah but i think that this is a perfect kit to get started for you beginner detailers out there now let's let's just take one more second and look at all this i feel like that you should have multiple of each of these towels now you know there's four wheels i only showed you one towel i mean i would at least have four of them i mean minimum and that goes with all these uh microfiber towels just so you have enough so that you're not wiping mess from one spot onto the other so whatever amount suits your needs they come in packs and just get whatever you need for those and they're again they're reasonably priced and it's nice to have a few extra ones all right so that's all the essential items that you need to wash your car like a pro i'll tell you what you're going to be super happy you did it turns out great and these products really make the job a lot easier there's always more tools you can add to your kit that'll make your life easier but this is the in my opinion the bare minimum all right so if you like these kind of videos and you want to see more of them hit the subscribe button
