front of the fence has finally arrived and has helped breathe new life into titanfall 2 the game-mode is fun hectic and removes much of the stress that some may feel when playing online games as your primary enemies will be AI units but just because you've quite the AI this time doesn't mean you can expect them to simply roll over sure you can mess around and come on top in easy mode but as soon as you start getting into the higher difficulties you will definitely have to pull your weight so with that here are our tips on how to get good at frontier defense tip number one know your role and shut your now I'm not going to go there but those of you who've got the reference make sure you comment it knowing your role is crucial for success at higher difficulty each Titan has their own role that you should try to fulfill when choosing you to take into battle starting with the heavy scorch and lesion should be your last line of defense yogurt Eisenbach slow and was best in close range to the harvester holding down the respective lanes they can take a beating and when foes line up they will wreak havoc upon them with extreme efficiency monarch can fight pretty well with the right tanks and delivering massive damage with each shot and slowing down Titans with the tether traps keep throwing them out as they're not limited to four active traps at a time like in standard multiplayer piercing shots let you shoot through teammates as well as enemy so don't worry if one of the heavies gets in the way number two prepare your pilot chances are you have an idea of how you want to play when in pilot mode make sure your loadout represents that if you want to steal batteries or use new rodeos equip cloak or follow pilots otherwise there is a chance of getting killed before you can get off the Titan again if you wish to stand your ground put down an awar equip your best Titan killer and go to town cosplayed grapples stem and phase shift work that they always do but don't do they're useful for this mode as the AI can still hit you no matter how good your movement skills are our primary weapon suggestions are the SMR soft full LMGs and shotguns the SMR does good damage against both infantry and tighten when amped it is extremely effective softball is good for clusters of infantry and Reapers and regarding LMG weapons especially the Spitfire it was really well suited in large ammo capacity and shotguns deliver massive damage in quit but the sidearms you should pick the ones you prefer but when you get the chance you really should just replace it with an odd 201 or something else dropped by the grunt inspectors for anti-titan weapon the Thunderbolt brings your types and meter up in seconds the archer provides good damage but is slow and leaves you exposed while locking on also it can't target cloaked enemies MGL and charge rifle are no good pics despite the fact that the MgO grenades will stick to the flying drones the Splash Damage is bad and you'll find yourself reloading very often tip number three be a good teammate forget your personal glory nobody will remember how many executions he pulled off as Ronin or how high your score is the deposit whatever money you have left over after buying in the shop maybe someone just needs a little more to get another arc travel battery or in my case probably another nuke rodeo since it's my new favorite tool of destruction if there is a lonely Titan either one from the first wave or as the last one standing let everyone take turns and rodeos giving you all extra batteries for the next way don't kill a Titan with a friendly on top and don't steal his battery if he is unlucky and dying being selfish and a lone wolf will get you nowhere especially on higher difficulty but if we defend the fifth heal and give shield to your teammates it will often go the extra mile to keep you alive few friendlies are more appreciated than a medic monarch tip for the right tools for the right map before as you can get a new one fairly quickly I'd say it's only worth buying if you've taken some heavy hits and wish to get up to form again nuke rodeo my favorite thing that has come to title for a strong but risky move rodeo 3 Titans to unlock this one and when equipped rodeo an enemy Titan to overload it for a massive explosion that will take out any nearby enemies in a glorious spectacle and you can use cloak to increase your chances of success alternatively the grapple hook comes in handy to quickly rule yourself onto an enemy Titan however would you being more exposed it also increases the chances of death so try to play it smart whichever way you go about with this arc traps possibly the most important thing to buy no matter the maps these things are always worth getting you don't need to repair them and they cannot be destroyed dealing a little damage while stunning and slowing down an enemy entering this range this is the tool that will keep the enemy hordes at bay and harass the Reapers find out where Reapers go to spawn is ticks and place a mine there the reaper will now be stunned spawn tix at a much slower rate and the traps can even fill the tix with a little luck absolutely an essential by the century terrorist is a costly high and depending on the map you should only grab a couple or very few it will target anything that gets within range but they can also be shot down requiring repairs to get going they will clean up most inventories though most effective on maps with lots of flying drones as they can be a bit of a hassle to deal with in the midst of battles a couple of well-placed centuries will pick up the worst of the swarm each pilot can have two centuries active at once but often three to four in total will do the job just fine the harvester shield is the last option it gives the harvester immunity for five seconds once activated we haven't really had need for this and it really seems like a big waste of money five seconds is not much and if you reach the point where you actually need this chances are you could have got better use out of some more on traps earlier on instead and finally tip number five waste not want not there are plenty of ways to waste something in front a defense as previously mentioned alone sizing is essentially free batteries for the whole team before you finish it off wasting money on more tourists than you need and also there are executions stop doing them stop doing executions yes I know they look awesome and feels good to do but chances are you can kill an enemy faster with any other attack and it's simply just wasting time there are only two good reasons to do any Titan executions in frontier defence reason number one if you are overrun and need a way to avoid damage for a short time or run out of ammo at the last moment during an execution as your loss resort to trying to keep yourself alive it's perfectly fine and reason to monarchs battery stealing executions restores health and shields to itself if you see a monarch close in on a doomed Titan let them have the battery don't be a glory hound that monarch is worth a lot more alive than an extra kill on your scoreboard monarchs are practically the team's medic class leaving a Titan behind in auto mode is also a huge way let's face it water Titans are pretty stupid and will never be effective on their own even if you equip the enhanced chips you maybe grow on foot as a pilot but you will be creating more of a liability for your team if you don't get fat in a match simply put pilots can't match the DPS of titans also if you realize you put down your turret or I'll trap in a bad spot don't just leave it there they can both be picked up and placed somewhere else and when you're doing whatever you got to do in between rounds make sure to ready up to move into the next way the game is pretty good and letting you know you're the last one who is already but almost everyone's time by standing around when you're done so
