hey what's up guys welcome back to episode of Chemical Guys detail garage today we have two brand new guests on this Chemical Guys YouTube channel one we have Michael he's been here for three weeks doesn't know anything about detailing so today we thought it'd be a great idea to show them how to wash this car as well as Antonio it's his third day out here so tell us where he came from how do you guys like it here I mean so far so good day number three going strong a local Southern California boy uh glad to get into detailing that's awesome you yeah same uh Southern California born and raised and uh yeah just decided to be here that's awesome to start off with as you guys can see we have this super dirty Honda Accord and I mean the dust and dirt don't even come off by rubbing it off if you do have dirty cars Michael Antonio then you see something like this everybody thinks it's cool draw on it wash me don't do that because it actually scratches your car but how do we actually tackle the surface of the vehicle it's going to be using the two bucket method now do you know are you familiar with the two bucket method you know what it is uh no I see we have two buckets here that's about it you Michael uh no but I imagine once for clean water the other ones for soapy water yeah so you're actually right on point so what I like to do here I came up as well for four different color buckets we have red blue black and clear what I like to do is I like I like to always have two different color buckets the reason being is for example if Alex Joey or Nick comes out here to help me wash the car it's super super simple for us to color coordinate black will be our rinse bucket and this could be our soy bucket or vice versa but in this occasion to set up our two bucket method all we need to do is grab our dirt track filter if you know what a dirty filters no yeah imagine just to trap the dirt exactly telling the name so it actually has over a hundred cyclonic cones on the back it's super flush it's simply going to sit at the bottom of your bucket so what you always want to do whenever using a dirt trap you want to go ahead and insert it at an angle and push down on it because if you don't enter that angle and you just push it down and just set it down like this it's going to have an air bubble at the bottom it's going to make it rise back up so minimize that by entering that angle pushing it down and you're good to go now we are going to be using our proflow pm2000 pressure washer and we are going to use a foam Cannon do you know what a foam Cannon is how it works no no I'm pretty sure you attach it to your uh hose or your pressure washer and it helps just create that foam mixing the soap yes so what this is going to do it has it actually has a quick release so you'll go connect this to your pressure washer wand it also has a big blow bezel up front so during our wash process simply you could go ahead and start messing with this you can open it up close it up so this either you want a super wide fan or a super narrow fan it's all on your hand and up top is very simple this is the foam adjustment knob you want higher maximum foam what you want to do is right now it's always to the right so just twist the auto to the right as soon as it locks in you're going to get pure soap no water coming out if you want pure water no soap just simply twist the heart to the left and you'll get pure water out of it this is a pro tip for you guys at home anyone that does have a foam Cannon always run clean water after you're done foaming your car so I guess you remove any so pressed to do from you inside your foam count and it won't clog back up now today the choice of soap we're going with Antonio and Michael we're going to be using subframe so instead of frame and it's a wonderful soap for you to have on your car or in Your Arsenal for example this soap has wax in it so we're going to be washing and waxing and protecting the car on it when you step so we're short on time on this obviously we know it is dirty to a certain extent that it does need a high sudden soap and that's where sub premium comes into play but we also want to deliver amazing High shine so instead of Premium is going to play an amazing part of our detail so Antonio so what you want to do is remove the foam counted head put it off to the side for a couple seconds get your choice of soap and all you want to do is add one to two ounces one two so how I like to measure is like two good squirts that's like two ounces and if you guys look closely we're not really using that much soap so now I put my bottle off to the side but before I forget tell me what this smells like I was like uh like candy yeah I'll second that like cotton candy right yeah yeah so it smells fantastic so whenever you're washing your car it's fun it's easy to do you could be smelling something amazing while washing your car so once you're done you want to reattach the foam Cannon head back on top just by twisting it back on and once you're ready what you don't want to do is shake the bottle just simply Stir It just mix the water and soap all together because if you do start shaking you're getting foam in here you don't want no foam in here you want the foam on the car so next thing all you want to do is just get your soap add some soap into your wash bucket and now we just need to go over washers but the washers actually left them up here so on our website cameras.com we offer many different types of washers from one being the pile driver you can feel how how that one feels to two everybody's favorite which is the Chanel wash mitt and three we have the wash sponge where the bug side to remove any bug bug residues so tell me just by filling them what do you feel what's the difference is what do you see what would you use yeah I mean uh this blue one and the kind of green yellow one there is definitely the softest this one uh here is still really soft but it also feels like it's a little bit more uh it's like it's knit tighter yeah yeah for those like tougher uh tougher stains right things I don't want to come out so you're actually on point uh so we manufactured different types of wash mitts for many different types of surfaces around your car one for the daily driven car that doesn't get super dirty which is going to be the lime green one as well as the wash sponge for anyone that does not like to have a mint it has an elastic band on back as well as to remove any bug size we do have this bug side to remove any bug residue but if you are an off-roader vehicle and you like going off-roading a lot we do have the pile driver the pile driver is simple to use just stick it on into your hand start scrubbing it down but the reason why I have three different wash mitts is because we're going to be washing this car but Antonio and Michael if I grab my fingers and if I touch it nothing's even coming off so it's clean here super dirty here and nothing is coming right off so that's how we're gonna be using the pile driver up top we'll be using the Chino washer throughout the sides and the wash ones as well but we're going to be giving you guys that experience about what's the difference between having a wash pad versus a wash mitt so what I want you to do is put on a wash mitt put it on and as soon as you put it on the elastic band is the one to adjust to your wrist which is not going to allow it for it to fall off during your detail it's very comfy you have some playroom inside so every single time you come into your wash bucket you're gonna get high amounts of studs and you start scrubbing your surface of your car down without scratching it so do you guys know what's next step before we actually start washing experience pre-rimps pre-rin so I'll go bring it all right so we're going to go ahead and start off by pre-rinsing the car well actually that you guys pre-rinse it all right I'll be guiding you guys uh one key thing is should we start from top to bottom or just go side top whatever what do you think top to bottom top to bottom I was thinking the same all right so yeah so that's a quick quick Pro tip for you guys whenever you guys are washing any type of car whether it's your car your friend's car your family's car you always want to start off by rinsing from top to bottom just so you could reduce the all the grime the debris falling back on top and onto a cleaner surface in this occasion this car is actually backwards the top of the car is a much more dirty part than the bottom of the car but vice versa on a daily driven car lower body panels get more Road action they get more tar and they get more filth so you always want to save that what we'll do is you always want to get your pressure washer wand and never be this close at least a foot away and wrist it down all right so anyways guys Antonio and Michael will take it away they'll rinse the surfaces car down once they're already done we'll get back to you guys and we'll get right into the foaming process using the big mile Matthew foam Cannon and stud free we'll see you guys then [Music] so look not even the wrist is bringing removing that that's how stuck it is [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] what is the purpose of the pre-wrench just to get whatever's loose yeah so or is it is it better to have the car wet when you apply the soap is there a benefit to that or is it just simply to remove that person the the only benefit of you doing the pre-ins is just to knock off the loose chroma debris gotcha because there's people that go off-roading they have muddy cars and muddy mud winds up happening is once you spray it down it does loosen but there's gonna be that stubborn one that's actually going to stay stuck so just by you pressure washing or rinsing the surface down you're going to remove the light layer and then you're just going to be stuck on with the heavier Grime because if I even grab the pro flow and go to this surface I mean nothing is removing this Grime yeah but now what a lot of people say I'll get a t-shirt I'll get a bath towel I'll scrub it no no no no don't do that because a lot of you people back in the day it obviously went from water-based paint to lacquer lacquer basement to water-based paint and lacquer based paint it was good because the car was sit out it'll turn dull you polish it you're good to go same thing that's the only process but now that it's water-based paint the shine is there the clear the clear coat sits on top once the clear coat's gone in the shot you can't polish it back out because you're having that issue we got to check your car out in the parking lot so that's why we always recommend protect your car apply protection apply a glaze a ceramic a sealant depending on like here in California our parking lot's massive right our car sits outside minimum eight hours a day that's we recommend getting a ceramic coating there's going to be elements that's going to sit on it and if I rinse it the water is getting stuck so you actually don't want this you want water to beat off because as soon as it beats off it's easier to dry your water won't stick you won't get water spots and it won't pile up it won't pull on your car so that's why there's a lot of steps within detail right now we're just very nitpicking how do I wash my car we rent we we set our buckets we're good to go with that we rinsed it now all we have to do is foam it up activate our studs put the washroom on a wash pad scrub the surface down we'll dry it and we're good to go awesome you want to follow up sure there it is now is there I know you're talking about the nozzle and so yeah so is there like if you have it open like that yeah it's going to shoot a stream right click the button choose the stream right right now if you close it your Fan's gonna be just click it still like a stream click keep hold it down ah yeah but that's how you adjust it so on a smaller car don't have the fan so opened up if you do have like a Ford Raptor Ford F-150 beer car have it super wide so you'll cover the whole entire door and much more right but if it's also windy lower down the fan see your foam can stay in one place you don't start throwing a phone party everywhere even though it's awesome don't do that just be conservative conservative right like this whole entire soap if washed properly a car this canister 34 ounce canister can wash two cars oh damn okay so follow up the car have fun and their uh best practice in terms of like top to bottom like how we're appearancing or uh in this occasion no but you'll you'll see as soon as you start working with it what I like to do is I start off here I work up down I work down and then down and then if I need to get the roof more okay but tell it to you it all depends on how you do what you do yeah you'll see how much easier that is oh right outside yeah it's super thick and one thing that the pro flow has is like every time every single time you stop shooting it it turns off oh yeah yeah I noticed that man yeah it goes on there shaving cream yeah you want to try it sure I'll take your take the wash bits oh yeah I gotta get the other side yeah have you learned a lot to do some cleaning videos a little bit yeah where do you feel like you need more help uh I think when it comes to like you know like waxes yeah Ceramics and all that yeah I think washing their car is basic right it's pretty but obviously there's like best practices yeah the the where you really I believe you get very into like what I do next is the wax the glaze the ceiling but we'll do a whole entire process but just by looking at this I mean you can see the Big Bob maxy's phone Cannon oh yeah yeah she's doing an amazing job at foaming up the car right cool all right ready we're ready to scrub all right so what Watchman do you guys want uh I'll take the I'll take the one that you guys don't want I'll take this guy all right yeah I'll go with the green one all right awesome and whenever you're done all you can just pull back on the sleeve put your big mouth off to the side and so I'll get the wash sponge what you don't want to do is start scrubbing the wheels and tires leave those alone okay pure body work and we'll scrubbing in your motions but I do have my pressure washer tip somewhere got it all right so now what we'll do is we'll grab our pressure washer tip attach it and you activate the suds that's how simple it is you'll grab your your wash mitt you'll sink it you'll get some suds you'll go to the area of the vehicle and all you want to do is go into your motions Now by going in little motions we're avoiding scratching the swirls removing the dirt filth and grime every single pass you do inspect your wash Mitt if it is dirty what you'll do is come back to this secondary bucket you can get out the bottom inspect it rinse it guess that's repeat simple simple let's do it scroll so with this guy I want to hit the top right yeah get the get the roof you'll get the roof I'll get the signs foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] all right guys so we just finished washing the car we scrubbed it down I mean the grime that Michael had to tackle down with the pile driver it was tough I mean now there's still stains without throughout the paint and unfortunately that thing has embedded itself into the paint and that's when you actually need to like wash cars so you could actually exfoliate the paint or you might even need to clay bar the car but now we're moving on to our next step on this detail which is going to be dry your car but now like I told Michael yourself and Antonio's this car has no type of protection so what we're gonna be using is after wash I want you to check it out after wash is a drying agent all you need to do is spray it onto the surface that's wet get your favorite microfiber towel in this occasion we are using the woolly mammoth but what you want to do is whenever you see a tag remove it put it away or throw it away that's your towel all right this is your towel but before anything let me just give you a demonstration because I don't want you guys just to go all over the place so you get your after wash go to the surface that's wet put this off to the side so what's the purpose of the after wash after wash is for anybody that does not have filter water and they're getting water spots this is going to help you dry but as well as shine shine your car so throw it on there pull and you're good to go now this paint does need a clay bar because you could hear how graspy it is but we're gonna do our best just to dry this car so here's the bottle here's a towel have fun and if you have any questions ask me and I'll help you guys out last two everything everything glass paint Plastics Wheels leave the wheels alone that's a separate video separate scenario this occasion we're just focus on the headlights Chrome glass everything or else cool sweet thanks I think I can share the bottle Sharon's Karen yeah Sharon is caring if you want [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you thank you [Music] all right guys so Michael and Antonio just finished drying the surface of the car in the comments down below let us know how well they did using after wash and the woolly mammoth any other questions you guys might have before we let them go yeah real quick I know we have a lot of different soaps and waxes here Chemical Guys so why did we choose this one today for this car so this car came in not the best shape it was dirty it looked like someone did something very bad to his side like through a sandstorm and the roof was covered in high amounts of grime debris dirt and filth but today we're actually short on time I mean in a few minutes you guys might have to go to your guy's office I have to go do other stuff so we're short on time but for this demonstration we wanted something that's going to clean shine and protect your car so we cleaned it we shined it and protected using our brand new pie which is sub cream it has a wax in it that's going to give it an amazing shine and reflection and just by looking at it I mean the shine is there it does have its imperfections but I mean that's just wear and tear throughout the day but overall I'll take these results instead of how it came in so that's how I went with that soap if we want something like Stitch washing gloss it would have been worked a little bit much better but we would have given no time protection then want to jump into the next step which is clean glazing sealing and waxing but we're short on time so that's how we went with that so this is like your all-in-one solution yeah something I want to get in and get out let's go cool perfect anything else no I'm good all right anyways guys if you guys see any more videos remember every Monday Wednesday and Friday we have brand new content for you guys that teaches you guys basically anything about detailing whether it's interior exterior undercarriage engine bay you think about it
