[Music] [Music] good day everyone we have a tiny treat for you today our most popular small home model our our nepan Point model we're going to go in and do a quick tour also talk about all the passive features and the space saving features that have gone into this model let's go in check it out [Music] so right inside the front door we are standing in the open concept kitchen dining living area approximately 300 Square ft of the total 750 square ft are in this space alone so you know most people come into here and instantly feel like this house is a lot larger than it actually is if you want to save money if you want to live cheap and live passive of course this is the place for you again a two-bedroom is actually set up as a OnePlus One bedroom here coming into the master area an individual bedroom easily fits a queen siiz or king-sized bed really comfortable you know small home but there's nothing small about the bedrooms optimal space for any any situation coming into the washroom so there is a comfortable 4T X 3T shower toilet of course vanity nice Stone countertop stackable washer and dryer in the laundry great space saving feature secondary bedroom area right here ultimately this in this floor plan configuration for these customers it's set up as a OnePlus One so this is an additional Den space uh great 6 foot wide opening it is used as a secondary sleeping area though a guess sleeping area they have a divider wall right here um that will pull across this opening but if there was a single door here it would mimic the master bedroom large sleeping space secondary office space as well again lots of possibilities okay in the kitchen area very comfortable kitchen as much workp space ultimately in any home with this countertop configuration so keeps the large the tiny home the small home feeling also large and comfortable at the same time now what makes this house passive looking up here at the mini split heat pump wallmounted wi mini split in this application takes care of the entire Heating and Cooling and this is you know ultimately a passive feature possibility for any passive home any size one single mini split per floor is all that's required used very intermittently throughout the total course of the winter what's the cost to operate this thing less than $100 a year for all Heating and Cooling Energies it truly is incredible and one of the best reasons to build passive moving on to the fresh air system in a tiny home a lot of municipalities will let you put in a ductless system uh many municipalities also require a ducted system so check with yours but with respect to this this is the blauberg ductless air exchanger so ultimately there is a single pipe that goes through our 20-in wall connected to the outside there's a ceramic core inside here that is able to absorb about 90% of the heat energy from the stale air leaving the home transferring it to the incoming cold air decentralized ductless no space required out of the utility room so you know you step inside this house and how does it look any different if someone didn't know this was a passive home it would instantly look different with respect to the thickness of the wall we have about a 14-in wall showing inside of the window it's a reason why the window seals are deep it's a reason we call them the thick ass walls double wallframe construction packed dense packed with r75 cellulose insulation the overall system is airtight it's super insulated it's got an integrated Vapor Barrier integrated air barrier open permeable membrane water barrier we really are talking about a future protected home that is able to take care of itself through a properly designed building envelope let me say it again the walls are double framed super insulated thick r75 walls it's exactly what you need to live be inside of a space that truly operates a thermos and comes with a drastically low energy bill as part of the whole system another feature of any passive home that any passive house includes are high performance Windows these windows let in about three times the amount of energy that escapes back through them to the outside environment you see we're in a we're in a fairly treed environment but cleared area in front of this house on the southern side of the home for the septic system allows a lot of heat to come in on a on a sunny cold winter day like this the heating system ultimately doesn't need to be turned on the home will easily maintain it temperature all because of these high performance Windows they are triple glazed of course they have a UV coating designed to reflect the heat back to the inside of the home as well as well as letting having a high solar heat gain coefficient when the sun is at a low angle it's why they're called net gain or they have these net gain possibility the frame you know has a requirement to be to be thermal Bridge free so this Frame is actually three parts there's an inside frame there's an outside frame there's a thermal Bridge free component right on the middle another big part of passive house window operation is simply proper orientation so facing the windows South in the Living Spaces were possible because that's where normally the larger windows are placed and again if possible not a requirement passive foam will operate like a thermos in all situations but you're reap the benefits of net gain windows with sther facing proper glass to bring the sun in also reflecting the heat back to the inside keeping the home [Music] [Music] comfortable [Music] [Music]
