now storm watch 12 weather with meteorologist Josh Culbreth welcome back to Newswatch 12 this morning right now you're taking a look at I'd say these are some pretty clear skies in Yreka this view is coming courtesy of the rain Rock Casino 63 degrees this morning so feeling pretty comfortable out there and our West Side valleys in southern Oregon are also seeing temperatures in the 60s 40s and 50s to the east of the Cascades and we're pretty close to 60 degrees along the coast in Curry County so all in all pretty comfortable out there maybe you just need a very light jacket as you're walking out the front door but a little bit later today yeah it's definitely going to be pool weather out there as we'll have high temperatures right around average for this time of the year which means that if you're going to be outside for an extended period of time well you'll need the water and you'll definitely need the sunscreen because the UV index will be very high so for today with average high temperatures that'll Place Us in the mid 80s to the east of the Cascades low to mid 90s for West Side valleys and then pretty close to 70 degrees along the coast in Curry County winds today along the coast will gust out of the North upwards of maybe 30 miles per hour but Inland those winds will gust mainly out of the north and west and they could gust up to 20 miles per hour we'll have some very light Haze today for Siskiyou County Klamath County and Lake County but the rest of us will see some pretty clear skies and some very good air quality and then for tonight the sun sets and the winds will calm down but we could see some rather Thick Smoke flowing into Northern portions of Klamath County and then into Lake County and that would be from the Bedrock fire but other than that clear skies comfortable temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s to the east of the Cascades little middle 60s for West Side valleys and middle 50s along the coast in Curry County where we could see some partly cloudy skies and that would be influenced due to the Marine layer over the next few days we have a couple different county fairs going on we have one in Josephine County and then we have one in Siskiyou County it's going to be pretty hot for both of them we're expecting dry weather Sunshine so that's good but the bad news is just how hot we're going to get into Saturday and Sunday and the bad news gets even worse because look how hot will be in a Monday 107 and then 106 for Tuesday then 107 again for Wednesday so a big time heat wave that we have and the heat alone is dangerous but then you add this into the mix and it gets that much more dangerous thunderstorm chances for Tuesday and Wednesday mainly for Siskiyou County Klamath County and Lake County and so that combination of hot weather and fuels drying out and lightning that is going to promote extreme fire weather impacts for Tuesday and Wednesday mainly for the Klamath National Forest but that is subject to change here's the 784 cast for The Coast good air quality and temperature is feeling pretty comfortable into this weekend Sunny and 75 kind of material which is going to feel much better compared to the triple digits that we could have in Siskiyou County then for the Klamath Basin just some light Haze over the next couple of days warming up into the mid 90s over the weekend and then tracking that chance for thunderstorms into the Tuesday and Wednesday time frame and we'll track the same thing at least in terms of thunderstorm chances for the mountains and then for the Rogue Valley even a thunderstorm or two could sneak into the valley but the biggest deal will be the temperatures starting to flirt with 110 by Monday
