This is the Story of Phabeni, the New Baby Elephant Orphan at HERD

come come come come come come come where are we heading Tiger we are excited actually  we got good news we're going to probably meet a   baby elephant somewhere in Hazyview so we  already picked up we're going to now we so   much excited because it's another life needs  to be saved so for us it's an excitement nice hello gents so it's 2 hours since our last video  what's happening well everybody we are here at   Phabeni Gate south of Kruger so beyond that gate  there's a baby elephant arriving who needs help   so we're basically here to receive the baby  elephant once we've done that we're going to   take the baby elephant to our HERD orphanage  so we are excited myself Joshua and the legend   Stavros here we're all happy you guys excited  be beautiful nice we'll keep people updated nice man trying to make it as comfortable as  possible Tiger yeah know this is to you   know when she just to make sure that we  don't mess with you man thank you you're   so nice just make it nice so that the baby  is okay comfortable more secure it and this   is not so it's not it's not so cool at  the bottom so it will be like standing here good good good okay Peter that's that is what I no 110 120 easy okay yeah easy see how he wants to suckle okay how heavy it three people  loaded it but it's heavy easy watch your feet I'd say that's a couple of hours'  drive so we'll see how he how he's   going to handle the journey but  otherwise so far he looks he looks good this young elephant's name is Phabeni Phabeni  means shelter in Sotho so his name is Phabeni is a good get so far's good he's got he's got  a blanket on was raining bit cold but is   doing very well warm now for him and yeah also  like blindfolded him so that he can't see the   movement can't see what's happening outside also  makes him to calm down which is a good thing but   yeah he's doing very well we have Stavros was  playing with him there holding the trunk but   he's keen to drink you know he's keen to suckle  the milk you can see how he is tasty and I think   he must be very hungry as well so you can see  how he's trying to suckle um Stavros's hand   there and we also have sanitiser that we use so he  should be very very fine only about half an hour left standing up a bit I was preparing for the room for the  baby so the room is ready we have put some   bedding and they so everything is ready we're  just waiting for the baby to arrive I'm so excited how are you you're good we can use let's go let's go let's go okay guys hold hold we he's not see he's not see it's all right boys it's all right easy easy you got your skill good easy way easy way you guys okay okay easy easy easy easy yeah thank you well done this but we know 22 baby oh good boy well done well done yeah for quick he's hungry there we go oh there we well done well done 122 122 yeah 122 120 but 124 just a quick update on this little elephant  that arrived here it was it was an awesome day I   mean it's not hot it's cold which is good for  him as well and we successfully I mean moved   here from the place where we received there  and then it was more like a 2 hours drive   from there to get here so when we got here it  was it was just amazing how we moved quickly   we moved him into the into the quarantine room  where he immediately I mean got weighed I mean   he got like 122 kg on spot then immediately  he received a bottle first bottles you could   tell that he was very thirsty and hungry  I mean he I mean he did very very well on   the milk side and he immediately received the  bottles which is a very very crucial part of   the whole thing so yeah now we have Dr Rogers  he's going to take over assess the health and   the conditions and stuff like that so just to  make sure that the baby is okay he's doing very well
