This Is Not The Same Donte DiVincenzo

Dante Devan chenzo is currently playing in his sixth NBA season and in his first 5 years Dante was always a pretty well rounded two guard but this year with the Knicks he's transformed into a high volume and very efficient three-point shooter and over the Knicks last three playoff games he's been having a huge impact on the court now a big chunk of Dante's outside looks are just here standard catch and shoot threes New York runs a vast majority of their offense through Jaylen Brun and with the ball in open space Jaylen has been one of the best scorers throughout the postseason so when brunson's in attack mode he commonly pulls two or three Defenders towards the ball which then opens up these kick out threes to divon chenzo exp you'll see Brunson here refus the screen which then pulls Dante's man up towards the ball opening up this practice shot in the corner now on this play the Pacers are going to double Brunson off this ball screen and as that happens these two weak side Defenders are forced to collapse down to protect the paint but the Knicks are able to move the ball around and find Dante in the opposite corner we can see the same effect on this play where Indiana blitzes Brunson at half court which again forces the weak side to collapse down setting up another Corner three now mechanically Dante also has a really quick trigger off the catch if the defense gives him any air space with the ball on the perimeter Dante is going to have his feet set and Let It Go with no hesitation notice on this play how UB falls asleep for a Split Second Ball watching and as Divan chenzo receives his pass notice how he hops up towards the ball and he lands on two feet to then immediately Elevate up the Knicks on this play are just going to run a simple dribble hand off and with both of these Defenders below the three Dante is going to Simply shift up towards the ball to then catch and turn into this jumper now another big element in diven chenel's outside shooting is going to be his balance and footwork Dante is El leite at shooting on the move and this makes him really tough to deal with on the break because Divan chenzo can go from a full Sprint to then instantly stopping and popping these transition threes you'll see him here feeling a lane on the break and as he receives this pass notice how Dante is going to slow down his momentum by chopping his feet then he catches and steps left right for is perfectly balanced jumper this play kind of looks like Steph Curry where Divan chenzo is out in front of the ball and watch him peel out towards the wing to then rotate his body towards the basket as he catches getting himself squared up to fire as soon as he receives the ball and then all that footwork carries right over to Dante shooting in the half court the Nicks love to run him off these dribble handoffs where div chenzo both has the balance to aggressively Blast Off the screens and the field to read the defensive find the open spots to rise up notice how Pascal seak here is trying to fight over the screen so Dante is going to step through this pass and extend forward into a left right jumper but now on this play Halburn tries to sneak under this hand off so instead of stepping forward Dante is going to Simply stop short and pop a 30 foot bomb and if the defense stays attached and blows up the initial handoff the Knicks can just turn this into your standard ball screen and divon chenzo is also comfortable dribbling into open space and rising up into pullup threes when playing off the ball I also think Dante has a really good feel of space always relocating on the perimeter and setting up clear passing angles for his teammates you'll see hard catch here and get into the teeth of the defense and on the weak side notice how Dante is going to lift up giving har a clear path to make this pass so because Dante is a real scoring threat with the ball he commonly draws cuse heavy Closeouts off the catch which then opens up his downhill scoring and playmaking with the ball Divan chenzo has a really good feel of angles and gravity allowing him to punish these overaggressive Closeouts watch him here shift up towards the top of the key to then catch and rip back into Maxi's gravity creating this clean blow by and setting up two points and that outside shooting threat also allows him to easily turn the corner off his pin down screens and that's because Dante's man is always trying to fight over to take away the catch and shoot option off the screen but that in return allows him to cut into this open space and put pressure on the rim for more high quality offense now dant chenzo also has the ability to create drives of aive dribble where he again uses the outside shooting to pull the defense up and create these attacking angles you'll see him here take one dribble and slightly lift his chest up which pulls this Defender out towards the perimeter giving Dante the leverage to turn the corner and attack into this Gap notice how hurn on this play has both feet beyond the three and Dante is going to again lift his chest up to then drop down into this right hand drive and he completely loses Tyrese by decelerating into this jump stop across the paint you'll see him make the same move here where Dante is going to again explode to his right to then pound the ball and jump stop across the lane creating a wide open finish and with the ball and open space Dante does have a pretty good first step being able to get downhill and create attacking angles from the standstill you'll see him and a beid here playing one-on-one and Divan chenzo hits a nice delay between Blow by where he goes between first and explode second then he's going to throw off and beats timing by jumping early off his ballside foot allowing Dante to quickly get off the floor into this finish this is also a tough move here where divon chenzo is again playing in isolation and he's going to attack hard to his right then slam the brakes going behind and he's going to slice through this Gap getting this high pickup then he extends to the other side of the rim for this reverse and then of course that ability to put pressure on the rim opens up more passing options I love this time here where Divan chenzo is going to again use this high pickup to gather right past the helps side and he pulls the defense down towards the block opening up all this space in front of the basket for this wraparound pass and then off the ball I also think Dante is a really good cutter being able to read his man falling asleep in gap to then blast back door and Elevate towards the basket and when Dante gets ahead of steam going towards the rim he is pretty bouncy what stenzo so in the paint I think diven chenzo has a good blend of athleticism and footwork and that by itself makes him a pretty Dynamic finisher at The Rim but I do think Dante at times can't be a little bit Reckless around the basket there's times where he leaves his feet too early and tries to jump through contact to create a finishing angle which can work if you're job morand but I don't think Divan chenzo has that kind of pop off the floor you'll see him catch here on the break and from this spot I would love to see him attack and be's chest and create a scoring window on his left side but Dante instead forces up this reverse layup that's not there I also think de venzo is lacking some strength around the basket when playing in traffic Dante does elect to quickly Rush up finishes instead of slowing down and getting fiscal in the paint but this is honestly just me nitpicking I think Divan chenzo overall gives New York the scoring punch they desperately need around Jaylen Brunson he's established himself as an elite outside shooter plus he has the skill to put the ball down and be a reliable Creator and for the Knicks going forward divon chenzo is play is going to for sure be crucial if you enjoyed this video please like And
