all right this is it this is gonna be the day we're gonna figure out this savage axis 223 can shoot a thousand yards we're shootin Hornady 73 grain yield II bullets loaded with twenty three point nine grains of argot an overall length of two point three to five shooting a nine power scope today it's gonna be kind of hard to see there's almost no wind that's why I'm doing it today we shot at five hundred today with really good accuracy so I'm will go ahead and try today at a thousand if I get one hit I will be happy I'm not kidding you this gun is not intended for this distance if we get multiple hits that will be great got my six five here beside me I'm gonna try to use that scope also de spa if I get impacts I don't know how much of a mark these are 223 bullets will makin that steel it's painted white generally that that targets been painted black so many times in the past it leaves a pretty good-sized black mark so we're gonna try to get on target here hopefully we can see to the scope I don't know how it's gonna be it may be may need just a little bit of luck do it but I think we can do it I think I just have 16 rounds loaded up so I don't have a whole lot so I'll the brass I had ready so 15 there's 30 40 we'll go 42 and a half and then I was just assumed kick a couple low and be able to see the dust kick up and kind of walk it in if we can so that I'll take what we can get all right I can see the target pretty good we're gonna have just a slight breeze from left to right so like the 500 yard target I'm probably just gonna hold on the left side 42 and a half is kind of the low setting I had what I figured on [Applause] no calls [Applause] [Applause] I have a feeling this distance the winds gonna make it drift a little more [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] kind of done just a variety of different holds just trying to get something to stick well go ahead and dial up to 45 minutes [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] I really figured with this frozen ground I can see some dust or dirt you've got I'm not seeing anything and this picture to the scope was very clear it's very clean [Applause] I just got five rounds left just gonna kind of do that various hold I said just see if we can get something sick we'll give it quite a bit of wind here and Seattle oh I seen it okay I've seen that one we're not too far off we got four rounds left okay got an idea where to hold [Applause] I mean look I was holding extremely far over look just still a little bit low and I was holding way too much win [Applause] it might be here it is it's right on the edge of the steel she rounds left kind of getting excited it's one thing to look into when you kind of can see it and kind of walk it into it the guns doing this job [Applause] one more round we'll run down take a look feeling pretty good about it I really am all right that's 16 rounds we're gonna run down take a look at it see what we did cross her fingers little look we got it well I feel like just won the lotto I have tickled to death I was uh I was expecting to maybe just maybe have one I look like I could see that one through that six five scope but we have one here we have one here we have one here and we have one here four hits at 1,000 yards with a savage axis 223 I just can't believe it it's it's awesome I'll give you guys a recap this gun was purchased with tax for two hundred and fifty seven dollars I have a thirty dollar egw 20 MOA vase I got a set of $40 weaver rings this scope I already had but it's a hundred and twenty-five dollar sight on s1 bipod sling already had and this rifle has a hundred dollar rebate and we just shot a thousand yards with it oh I just can't believe it I bought two hundred bullets for this the Hornady 73 grain LD bullets and I probably have fewer than 25 left so the load development took quite a bit we did it with the bargain I was just about to rule out the varga and and something told me just keep going with it it showed a little potential it seems like it always had a flyer but there was there was always usually three grounds that were that were together but this is awesome I don't know which shots got it I'll have to review the camera the other camera is still going so we're gonna wrap it up out here at the range today it is a very good day I had a very good week this week the cold weather didn't stop me from being out here about to lose my voice so for being out here so much this week but this is awesome I can't believe it so I appreciate the thumbs up I appreciate you guys sharing this I'll be sure to share this on the savage axis Facebook page for everyone to see so don't count out these cheap rifles because they'll do it if you put a little work into it so thanks for watching see you later [Music] [Music] [Music]
