This Creek was AMAZING in east TENNESSEE

wow oh yeah a good one oh it's a good one where'd that guy come from [Music] um [Music] this is going to be a great exploration video another new creek barely been to but i've been wanting to explore it more today i'm like all right i'm going to do i'm going to come up here i'm going to put my kayak in i'm not sure how far i can kayak up stream and maybe just a little ways or there may be another couple pockets because there's no roads going up that way but this is a really cool um it's a creek but more like a river almost supposed to have some small mouth in it i've already seen a few fish swimming around so i'm going to try to take my kayak upstream and i may even do some waiting but it's going to be fun to just explore it up well i didn't get anything out of this big stretch here and i'm already going to have to get out and pull it upstream on the map it looks like there's another deep hole up there but i'm not sure we have to get out i have to get out and we'll go check upstream wow so this creek makes like a sharp bend right there but there's a nice big deep hole over here looks really good uh that's a fish that's a solid fit oh that's a solid fish yes there we go stay on there let's see if we can get him in that's a good smallie he's spitting up something that he ate crawdad pinchers just came out of his his mouth he's throwing up all kinds of crawdad stuff we're gonna scoop him up here man that's a good fish yes sir here we go is our first one fish number one just dropping the helgermite out there you know that's my go-to for especially this type of water and um i i fished for a little while i hadn't got a bite and all of a sudden 14 inches long i there's probably tons and tons of them this size in here hopefully we can get a few more out here this is this place is awesome i cannot believe how nice this is there's another one that's big but he's fighting all right this little spot right here must be where they're some area where they're feeding there's a little creek coming in over here and that might be what's triggering them triggering them number two that's pretty fast on the second one man i can't believe i've come across this spot right here this these rock ledges that you see like this are the same going down to the water water's pretty clear um we're seeing oh look at that there's a fish right there i don't know if you can see it or not there's fish down there that's a largemouth or spider bass i mean i've got my polarized glasses on i'm singing seven or eight feet into the water got a creek coming in over here we're gonna have the main creek park coming in up there this just sets up so pretty i could probably kayak here for a couple hours trying to just fishing around both banks and it's pretty deep out there too it's at least 10 feet deep it's a big gorge oh oh that's a fish that's where a feeding one would be right there in that current alabama spotted bass looks like i don't think these are kentucky's that's definitely a spotted bass and uh they're really defined the way they look they alabamas seem to always have more a little bit more uh defined look to them there's a bunch of these i've seen swimming around pretty little bass a little spot starting to get shallower as i'm working my way up here and that may be better for them for the feeding ones all righty wondering when this guy would show up old rock bass so we got small mouse spotted bass and now rock bass oh oh that's a good one that's a good one he was on the other side of a rock oh yeah that's a nice one that's solid bass right there yeah he's i'm getting up in the shallow area i think he was on the other side of a rock it was weird when i put the hook on him i got his pitcher he's a dead on 14 inch good little bass oh oh there's a good one i don't even know he was on there good spotted bass my line kept getting loose and i thought it was drifting in the current there's a fish swimming back with it that's a nice spot [Applause] oh man that's a pretty fish pretty bad i don't mind catching spots they're fun too especially one like that look at that gorgeous fish they're beefy and strong they're built like smallmouth especially in these creeks they they fight really hard too that's a really good one well he jumped back in when i wasn't paying attention that was 15 point seven five fifteen three quarters super nice spotted bass that's um probably a pound and a half kind of three quarters those things are pretty thick i just keep pushing up this creek it looks like there might be another pool up over there at some point it's got to run out of pools i would think where it gets shallower but if we can find a couple more of these we might just keep on catching fish [Applause] man this creek is loaded my friend josh is telling me that there's a lot of alabama spots in here and uh he's right it's a lot more than most of these streams coming out of the hills are mainly smallmouth this one's got a lot of spotted bass well we have made it to another a little bit deep hole i can't tell how far it keeps going but it's so hard to stop exploring like where's that building thing over there there's all concrete buildings i don't know what that is but uh oh there's a small mouth right in front of us there's a small mouth right definitely you probably hired two of them probably heard the motion three of them i'm gonna check it out oh one of them looked at it and turned away oh a couple of them swam away one of them came over and checked it out really fast and swam off a little spooked from it yeah he got it there was i knew one of them was too curious about it [Applause] this is why you explore and pull your kayak up rapids get the spots like this get these bass these wild fish oh he's back in that was a at least a 12 inch one all there i'm gonna get in my car here in just a second i'm making another cast sometimes it's easier to fish certain holes waiting it oh oh oh oh that feels good that feels good but it's it's so much easier to carry all your stuff in a kayak and then you get to some of these holes and you want to um kind of kayak up through them oh this is awesome what i'm watching i got a little chunky smallmouth there's a bigger one trying to get the bait out of his mouth there's a littler one following it in this super clear water about a foot and a half deep right there that's another nice one i'll take these guys all day probably 11 inch or so in this place i am so glad i almost didn't even come here today i was trying to find something to do and i was like i need to explore this place exploring always gets me excited and i'm glad i did you oh we came back for it and you missed it again i missed that fish twice oh ow i missed him three times i guess i should not set the hook so fast these guys are a lot more aggressive up here they're hitting it really hard the more shallow and upstream i get things like [Applause] let's keep going upstream that was definitely the hardest one i've had to pull up so far that was the longest like rapids area where it's real rocky but we found another little pool that i could probably kayak up through i'm probably gonna turn back soon but i don't know i feel like i'm gonna just keep catching fish i mean i'm i don't think i'm gonna stop catching fish if i keep moving oh there's something oh yeah we just show up jumping out of the water i think he's got a fat they know it's fall time they know these days are getting shorter everything's still green but these are these kind of streamers they're going to get coldest the fastest so i'm trying to get to as many of these kind of streams as i can because i know these fish are going to be feeding up everything i've caught today has been fat and spitting up crawdads and stuff like that another nice smallie oh there goes a couple right there oh oh yeah a good one oh this might be the best one today sick a thick smiley hold on calm down there oh man he's digging oh land in my boat pretty fish right there look at how healthy that bass is 15 inches oh just another pretty bass right there 15 inch small mouth i'll take them well as as usual on these kind of clear rocky especially these uh notoriously smallmouth streams the anika hegemite is my go-to got a 1 10th ounce jig head i think that's the obsidian black one and it's getting the job done i'm throwing it out there in front of me it's kind of drifting back a little bit the most point and i'm just kind of picking up on it when they're grabbing holding them they're they're holding on to it but pick it up feel if i feel them and then just set the hook on it [Applause] man are you kidding me this place looks amazing oh it's worth it it's a lot of work to get up here that's for sure but this hole right here looks so good there's a little small mouth right here at the back of the pool just looks gorgeous we're kind of wanting to use the window but the hunger might so good in this area so i knew i there was some piece of hungry ones this little guy slammed it hey green sunfish we gotta knock off you know a couple more species there he's under the little rock ledge i'm fishing over here well this looks like a really good place to turn around i've uh i think i put in around 12. it took me a little while to get in the water probably didn't get started at 12 30. it's three o'clock now so at least been out for two and a half hours coming upstream which i could go back down really quick if i wanted to but we're gonna float back downstream hit up some of those same pools uh just a beautiful place out here there's no telling this is a good flowing craig there could be some really good holes way upstream but i can't see anything right here so um it's a good time to turn around start floating back down i think we'll get some more fish oh it's a good one where'd that guy come from wow might be my biggest one well they didn't take long to get a good one back down not the biggest one but another like 13 inch man the population the fish population this creek's really good another good bass [Applause] holy cow there's all kinds of bass underneath me i've been throwing the whopper ain't got a single bite well i've got one bite out of this area drop the helgermite in there and look what they do come on oh one of them had it they don't even know i'm over top of them shove it back down oh oh you want that come on you looked at it you looked at it oh there's some good ones down there got that one there's a whole bunch up right underneath me right i came through this deep section ooh is that a large mouth i might get a slam today yep the first largemouth there's a bunch of them about this size at 10 to 12 inch just hanging out it's five four four five foot deep right there [Applause] nope i thought that was a big good little guy first fish i've got this this stretch that i put in it i've gone all the way through it i think this is the first fish i've got out of here there's a lot of them in here but this it's a big long opening and sometimes that's when they're harder to get had a few hits but mostly smaller stuff all right about to turn around and head back to the truck oh my goodness where'd that rock come from and that's how you break stuff right there cruising along and bam there's rocks right in the middle of the creek and i didn't even see it well i guess time to wrap this video up man this is just a fun way to get out and do some activity get some exercise do some exploring the hardest part i got left is uh the hardest part that i have to do is probably what's left is getting this kayak up over these rocks that i gotta get it out of i know everybody can't do this and it's uh it's a it's a difficult task it's um time consuming um it takes effort and takes a lot of ability to be able to get in here and explore and uh but i mean it's so fun to be able to do these kind of things and i know that there's people that probably have there's probably a million people have kayaked this place but to me it feels like i was the first person to ever go do this i feel like daniel boone out in the wilderness you're looking over your shoulders for bears or bobcats or people that attack you or you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere even though i turned around basically in a guy's backyard he where he had mowed there so um but it's just cool to get out in these streams these little creeks that these are little they're tougher everybody's not some people might be fishing on but everybody's not getting in here we'll break this kayak again um it just it's fun to do all alone spend four or five hours out here and now i gotta work my way downstream i'm gonna come back and do that i might get a buddy or somebody to go with me but every time i do a little exploring it usually always pays off it's just a great time a lot of good fish and beautiful scenery out here in east tennessee thanks so much for watching yeah
