shopping it makes me feel happy i just want to like everything children love the glitz and sparkle diamond teeth in your face fluorescent colours the must-have labels juicy chanel hyundai and the gadgets i'm the person who actually has the most toys in the uk we spend an extra 2 billion pounds on our children every year i've got two fifties and for some spendaholic kids even this isn't enough you wanna ask for stuff eight times out of ten i do get i know my mum's a pushover like i'm not gonna lie meet the children who really get what they want want want i have a talent in being persuasive i've already had 150 pounds this week and it's only tuesday i spend my mom's money my dad's money whatever money i get really and the parents who give give give she's got me wrapped around her finger somehow my spending's out of control sixteen hundred plane i want to shoot myself i've got guys blow water thank you oh god i can't bear it bexley in kent home to the mckenna's there's man of the house allen mum kelly and three lucky kids rhys mackenzie and chase these three have got everything they could possibly want the latest gadgets gizmos and toys but for 11 year old chase it's all about the clothes she likes all things pink and sparkly she's a beauty pageant winner including essex sweetheart and she's a designer label-a-holic i've got ralph juicy i think i've got some green tea something like primark so where does her love of oat couture come from the minute they were born they were all in designer clothes i wanted my kids to look nice i was over the top i mean they had burberry clothes and they had burberry quilts and they had armani everything it was ridiculous and we probably did get like oh my god look you've got no carpet but you can't put your kids running around in the cost i wear this at school and grandma bought it for me because i'm spoilt how much does it change chase is very clever she wraps alan around her little finger oh she's simulative when i asked dad for stuff it's like yeah you can have it or it's a little argument and then it'll be like right if you can get past mom you can have it i don't believe chase is going to go far i love it a bit so i love all my kids to bits but i've got high hopes for chase it's all you have to give him the face daddy he goes how much do you need and then i'm just like i'd like 300 pound this time it gets higher and higher and higher but when it comes to mom daddy's girl chase needs to up her game why do you want another christmas tree yes i want i can't even listen to it you're not having another one why not pink one and that is because what child has a christmas tree in their bedroom what we're going to do with the one you've got already send it to africa for the children who have no christmas trees a pink christmas tree they'd love it because you've got one you don't need another one austin ow she wants a new tree for a bedroom no so there is no way you're another one you don't need another one no because i don't want mom losing her money that's a good girl she doesn't want mum losing her moneys oh all right then we won't have any christmas tree or any christmas lights because i'll go to speedgate and spend the money we honestly are crap with money we're a kind of family that we don't have savings we live every day as it is we could have loads of bills and still go bed and sleep i mean it don't i don't things like that don't worry me my aunt told me once you come into the world with nothing and if you go out i win you're up and there's no doubt alan is definitely up especially now chase has found something else to spend his money on edgeware a posh area of north london [Music] and home to the mccarthy's mom niaz is a teacher but she used to work in fashion and 12 year old romy is a budding musician [Music] so this is my new viola it was 1 800 pounds altogether including the bow add to this a violin worth five grand and a piano worth three and a half we're spending about two to three hundred on just instrumental lessons a week romy's hard work paid off when she won a music scholarship to a school costing 16 and a half thousand pounds when i want something i'll tell my mum i got a music scholarship i'm saving the money of the school fee so the money i save i'm allowed to spend on what i will oh these are really cool i spend so much on her because she works really hard and i just feel that she deserves it so as a reward niaz doesn't mind funding her daughter's handbag obsession so i think all in all i probably have about 50 different bags just quite a lot my father won 200 pounds this is one of my favorite things louis vuitton 200 pounds this has got bright colors and it's sparkly i don't know i just like this because it's really practical and the jewel in the crown my chanel handbag it was a thousand three hundred and it was a big surprise my dad came back with one that was three thousand pounds but we gave back the other bag which means we're now left with a two thousand pound chanel voucher the fact that she is a single child makes it easy to be able to spend that kind of money on her there's no way i'd be able to do it with two of them absolutely not i work really hard and i'm quite grateful and it's her choice to whether she wants to pay for me i never really feel guilty spending my parents money [Music] shops addictive places of retail therapy and dangerous places to visit with kids their pester power is bleeding parents dry and there's no better pesterer than north london at romy who's desperate to hit the high street mom i really want to have a look at something new because that's not really my style anymore it's not your style it was only three months ago oh my god how can you change your style in three months i go to mum when i want something because mom's usually the one who buys me everything mum please i just want to have a look around okay you can have a look around you get in the car lucky for her mia's needs little persuasion it's clear where romy gets her attitude from romy has been influenced by myself i like nice things and she's used to going into stores with me that i've gone to and having worked in the fashion industry before i'm aware of these things so she's aware of them also oh that's lovely i do like that yeah by the way you can buy one pair of jeans that is it i think the jeans are 200 215 i think mom's carefree spending all stems from her childhood in iran i grew up in a very wealthy family and sadly due to political situation in my country everything just changed overnight and we had to escape and we my father lost literally everything so from having everything i went to having nothing thank you mommy you're a very lucky little girl so you appreciate that i think it does give me the attitude to spend it today or you may not have it tomorrow because yeah i mean i've experienced it i tend to live life for today thank you this way we spent 285 pounds and they're not finished yet [Music] romy's fallen in love with a designer jacket this doesn't do it right well if no no if it's not gonna do it sweetheart no i will say no there are times that i will absolutely say no to her but i enjoy buying things for her oh you just want me to have it now so that you can then take it from the wardrobe i have a talent in being persuasive but i think my mom has a talent in being persuaded yeah look really nice on you yes yes yes honestly really really really really that was a rumi tactic in other words mummy it looks gorgeous on you and then before i know it she's in my wardrobe wearing it very tempted but no she didn't win this time niaz may have won the jacket battle but romy's won the shopping wall thank you 340 pounds i think is what you okay 340 pounds yes to be excited i sincerely think she's not spoiled she really appreciates things that i get for her it makes me happy to see her happy but unfortunately for niaz what makes romy happy isn't just spending money on herself we do look lovely princey these pampered pooches also get treated to the full shopping experience and romy's not the only one with spoiled pets back in kent and chase and family are checking up on one of her most expensive buys oh nice and muddy every girl dreams of having a pony but for chase her dreams come true i'll give him whatever they want if they wanted a rolls-royce i can't give it to him but if they want a pony or she wants an office and i can give it to him and i'll give it to him i have thought to myself a couple of times what i've got myself into with this house but she loves that puts smile on her face i mean if you can't make kids smile they're all supportive having them i kept writing on facebook how much i love horses and stuff like that and my mum support me well you wrote something on facebook how happy you'll be and you'll be the best girl in the whole wide world and you'll love us forever if you please get you a pony because you love them so much persuaded her kelly suggested let's get her an else i said no to start with just kept on and on and on and that was it i didn't have much to do with it i'm not a cab in the bank unfortunately the bank of allen is nearly bankrupt we're always struggling we've always been that way you know but somehow we managed to do it we always managed to do it and a lot in our family don't like it because what we should be doing is probably putting money down for a deposit on a house or whatever but got one life don't you and the way we do it is for the kids i just really really love her i can't wait till she's older as well and then i can ride her hey baby it's not the horse that's the money it's everything else that comes with the hulk so i mean you've got a shadow you've got to have the saddle stirrups you've got red saddle levers you've got to have the that goes under the saddle you've got her of the riding boots you've got the show boots you all have the mucking out boats chase demands the best for princess the pony costing mom and dad over two grand a year the horse needs to have everything i mean she's eating the best food for god's sake we ain't got nothing in her fridge yet the whole thing's the best food no yeah in a bit of friend of yours and got a horse but that was that's us really stupid well that is us so trouble with the landlord but the only problem of shoes my hunter wants i was like begging my mum for these because i wear them all the time i really want them and they were really expensive and i haven't even wore them once like most of them i don't even wear i never wear them ones i hardly ever wear my bands i never wear them like they've not even been worn into yet because they're still hurt and the back of my feet i think my friends would describe me as spoiled i don't disagree with them i agree that i am spoiled because i know i am i do feel quite guilty because they're just money wasted my mom always five million so i don't really know how much the stuff is because she buys him and i don't ask i'm just like say thank you i know my mum's a pushover like i'm not gonna lie because it's just because she's really soft so she agrees to most stuff i am soft for the girls and i know that i'm soft and even my friends will say say no to them jackie but i can't and who better to go shopping with than a mom who can't say no i like it lauren just loves shopping but then i do so lauren probably gets that from me if you've got it spend it that's just me 75 pounds yeah yeah mom and it's my size not okay i'll spend my mum's is caring i'll get six pounds eight to five through the week i just have to do that many jobs to keep the girls and everything that they want i just need the extra jobs for all the money i know that she has to work hard to get the money she looks like she's doing three or four jobs and she's still trying to get another now just so that she can afford to like keep up with what we're doing if i'm not paying my bills and i've bought something for the girls i have done it occasionally and i know it's the wrong thing to do but i pull it back the next week or the next month i think she's taking on so many jobs because she wants to make sure that she doesn't get like a bad life for us if you get what i mean but it's not just jackie outgrafting for a better life [Music] in essex live mom gigi her nine-year-old son zach and zach's stepfather and gigi's fiance simon gigi is a model actress and dancer simon is a marketing and pr manager for a chain of nightclubs and restaurants the most expensive thing we've got zach was a fast and furious six poster and everything all signed by the cast three nine or four thousand i think it was yeah you paid for it so something somewhere around that i don't know just click buy [Music] zach spends every weekend with dad bash bash was a management consultant but he's retired early how's school this week right what did you get up to tell me what you learned science i can spend anything from 500 to a thousand pound on zakiya a month meanwhile mom i could spend anything between 250 and 600 a month from zach easy when i look around my room i have cars lego a playstation and there's an x box downstairs a nintendo 63. it doesn't actually have an allowance it's whatever you fancy and obviously whatever that costs we like to spend on what he wants if we're somewhere and he likes it and i can afford it we buy it whether it's a tenner or whether it's a grand you know what i mean three parents equals triple the treats now i've got 250s for my friend i think what i like shopping in the most is toys but i've got quite a few so i'm thinking clothes now mom gigi is only too happy to accompany zach clothes shopping as far as i'm concerned if you got it now spend it now if you if you want to go out and you see something that you like and you can afford it why not get it i know what i want i want brands a lot of things that has extravagant taste i think it's more me and everyone around him for him it's it's it's something that he likes it's just a piece of clothing i do want to get these shoes you know we get the shoes don't try on the jacket as well what make is it italian it doesn't matter what make it is if it looks nice it looks nice i know it's not what you wear it's how you wear it yeah get the jacket as well prada but his dad does just wear designer clothes so i mean i don't know any son who doesn't want to copy their dad and my dad has this one and then that's my one there without finishing i bought them for you and you don't even wear them hey i do wear them sometimes wear them more often and i'll get you the other pairs that is that deal yeah yeah deal give me five because um i was getting a bit bored of the trainers that i was wearing so i thought to change them so with this new pair of trainers zach now owns a whopping 40 pairs thanks dude oh should you toe to us love you [Applause] [Music] also out splashing the cash is daddy's girl chase the international horse show is in town where better to spend a small fortune and to help her it's dad of course very posh i do when i got in there it was just like if you look and it's horse everywhere it even smelled like it in there they were selling nikki some rosettes and i wanted to run off and go and find loads of stuff oh i'm gonna go have a look around you can give me the money and go wander around i get so excited when i'm shopping because i just wanna like everything i like that i like that very much at horses and i find that like mostly only at horses he's so excited like he likes getting stuff more than me really [Music] christmas is just days away so mom kelly is trying her best to curb their spending i didn't allow him to take the card today i gave him spending money and i wouldn't allow him to take the card with him because if he took the card with him chase would have bought olympia if i had two thousand pounds in olympia i could easily rinse it oh that's nice that's well nice shopping chips with my thought were expensive very expensive only because i chose most of the stuff for you don't i and i do i've got exquisite taste i don't believe last time i spoke to him um he didn't have a pound so he spent it all i wanted that bank card because i couldn't give her what she wanted we could have gone crazy in there it was really good probably love we had enough yep you ready go on yeah yeah we'll definitely go next year and hopefully i can steal the bank card off for kelly without knowing thanks dad here's another one he's also got mckenzie something but i don't know what he's got mckenzie because she she hasn't got a horse so i don't know what he could have bought her so everyone gets a treat today but will there be a budget at christmas the children get asked to make a list and then i will go through the list and we'll say yeah no chance or whatever this is what i want sansa to bring me the chocolate coin maker but you can go and see with my kids they change it every day father christmas needs to know what it is you really really want to be under the tree are you listening or can you just put anything under there then yeah now i've got no idea about my numb we should really go on a course there are times that i have borrowed to give them what i want and there are people we've got a close family around us i can go to my family i can go to kelly's family my mum was not a saver it's obviously where i've got it from i think she was exactly the same you know one day we'd have nothing and she'd make dinner from what was in the cupboard and then the next day we'd be in some posh restaurant or we'd be packed up and gone on holiday [Music] all start their christmas shopping in stupid like october i mean and there's maybe two days before christmas without one present i mean please i want to shoot myself i've got go to blue water tomorrow it's not fun i'll do it all online normally but i haven't done it this time oh god i can't bear it 300 miles away in lancaster it's 6 a.m time for lauren to start work lauren it's 10 past six now come on you need to get up lauren's a nightmare at getting up so she'll have to do it one day on her own watch she ready spendaholic lauren doesn't expect mum to pay for everything she's got a paper round to earn her own cash too because christmas is coming up well and it's cold and the bag is quite heavy sometimes what is she doing my mom should normally drive here loads of people feel like it's not okay that my mom helped me with paypal but i'm grateful that my mom does it for me because i don't think i'd still be doing it now if my mom weren't doing it with me so on top of her own three jobs jackie also helps out with lawrence so many of my friends are like i wish they had my mom i don't know what type of life i'd have if i didn't have my mum she's kind of like the best mom in the world isn't she so i wouldn't change her at all all this hard work is to fund lauren's love of clothes but there's a twist are you getting rid of them jeans all of them no i don't like them i don't wear jeans will you buy them you wanted them i won't i mean like all true fashionistas she doesn't wear half of them [Music] kanye in essex zach and his mom gigi are at their favorite store i love shopping if i'm driving on back from school and there's something open a shop open and i see something in the window i'll get something and that's on my way home from school oh wow you don't have that it makes me feel happy and i hope it makes zack feel happy when he gets something that he likes and as long as he appreciates it and he doesn't expect then it's good we haven't been to toys r us for a while we haven't been for we have was the last time we were when i was younger i was in a spray break but my mom was my dad worked really hard he works in like uh i guess you should call it the rag trade you know he didn't really make a lot of money but he gave me as much as he could and second godzilla hasn't taken this straight from me i was a sport brat so i remember two occasions where i didn't get what i wanted i bit a chunk out of his back seat of another only child is playing dress-up but with a difference i'm most like spending money on my pets i bought them a dress each lovely little princess socks leg warmers and some christmas outfits and then i spent on birthday cakes and taking them to harrah's to get pampered they're part of the family so they should be treated as well as human which means the dogs also get to go shopping before i go into a shop i like to think of everything i'm going to buy i am looking for some pink sparkly outfits a coat because it's very cold outside it's winter and some leaves and we'll get them cookies or some kind of some fish definitely will get them leads that's for sure wouldn't that look nice on you yeah i really don't think they like wearing these mum because it's really cold outside you don't understand how cold dogs feel we're just having a look and if we see one that we might like and we'll decide i like my little sisters because they're smaller than me and their mum and dad mummy and daddy yeah there was a time when she really wanted a sibling really really badly but they were a replacement i really like this one we can try it on do you want to try one on them well try it and see i did want to have sisters when i was younger not a brother but then i kind of grew out of it when i realized how annoying my siblings are my dog's become my sister so it doesn't really matter i have two little sisters that's online in class when the teacher's off do you have a sibling i put up my hand david chicks lovely she does but we'll think about the cooks okay let's get the leaves let's get them something to eat okay but you do look lovely crunchy we do want you to know that i'm dead certain that she would have wanted another sibling the reason why we haven't got another one that was intentional was because if i had had two of them i wouldn't be able to do as much as i do with her and the quality of time that i have with her [Music] niers has spent just over 100 pounds thank you bye thank you mommy you're very welcome sweetheart i think buying her things definitely makes me feel less guilty about not giving her a brother or sister i try to give her as much as i can it's a way of compensating but it won't ever completely compensate for it [Music] up in lancashire lauren's freeing up wardrobe space before a shopping spree and mom jackie's not happy you getting rid of them jeans all of them i don't like them i don't wear jeans will you bought them you wanted them i won't i need to free up wardrobe space lauren's busy throwing out brand new clothes uh we usually do it every few months because she gets two minutes up so we just have a clear out rachel do you want that yeah i've not wore it and i don't really like the material it's a surprise with lauren she'll get something and only wear it for a few months or whatever so would you to do that sell it still got price tag on things that she's never had on or only worn ones really annoys me we have conversations why are you not wearing it lauren well i don't want to wear it today i will wear it sometime and then you find that she never wore it again you moaned for the top though yes i know i know but the buttons off and i know i know you could have it i know that i spend my money because i do feel pressurised when i see people in magazines they look like normal people like but they're really pretty and they're wearing all new clothes with anything or if i wear them i'll look good as well i would say at least between 300 to 350 enclosed there why is there so much stuff i think when i throw stuff away it's more because of my body image because i hate the way i look in things at first i like it on me and then i think it makes me look like not good so then i don't want it anymore like lots of kids lauren worries about how she looks which may explain why mom jackie is prepared to splash the cash so all the girls are hitting the high street in search of current trends and the feel-good factor lauren's totally different when we go out shopping she's more full of energy and talkative and we have such a good time and we have a laugh and joke and it gives a lift i think for that short while [Music] wearing new clothes it just makes you feel kind of like you put in something new to you if you understand what i mean like you're making yourself feel better and obviously when you feel better you're more confident in yourself okay but the dress looks nice and you're happy with it yeah girls feel a lot more better when they're in with the trends and getting new stuff like most teens lauren feels under pressure to follow the latest fashions so several fun hours later jackie spent 200 pounds on new clobber a week's wages [Music] up in morecambe and for lauren and family christmas has been and gone but the debts haven't [Music] jackie's sister pat is visiting and she's just seen the bill jesus god sixteen hundred pound yeah that's no that is totally out order i just feel you give him too much you know that i know yeah there's no way you can argue with it so softer than another i think you're mud all right i know she's a bit shocked i was shocked myself and i realized how much i'd actually spent on the girls at christmas because i did set a target but for whatever reasons i went over it i feel annoyed that she's done that you know put herself through all that and upset for her do you think you get too much stuff mom like it's up to mom and it like the only reason she gives us what she is is because she said she wants to give us what she didn't have as a kid we know we spoiled but i don't know why you have to how much do you think your mother spent on you at christmas over seven hundred pounds you get eight hundred and something pounds what did you plus you get two hundred pounds each of your dad there's over a thousand pounds and to be as far as i'm concerned that's just totally it's me that says to them they don't turn around to meet christmases can we have um 600 pounds for christmas each basically it's like do you think that's back to me i know it's back to me and it's me that needs to change it do you think your mom's paying you too much and suspendless i know that she does i've said to everybody that my mom spends too much but it's her decision she gets the out of pocket she pays for it i don't force her to do it it's up to you jackie to make the changes but it's lauren that has an idea and it's not her wardrobe she's thinking about without money that you spend on us at christmas like if you didn't spend that much you'd have that money you could spend on holidays and stuff i would much rather go on holidays and spend money on clothes that we won't even use as much i think lauren yeah look at me just play on your phone please we should try for christmas away then this year instead of me spending 1600 on christmas presents all agreement hands up for the holiday instead of christmas presents no wait some christmas presents [Music] lauren's quite right we're gonna have a holiday and go abroad at christmas for a change might be really nice and hopefully this holiday will prove to jackie it's not spending money but time with her kids that will make everyone happy i'm quite looking forward to it we've thought about it yeah it's the weekend in east london which means it's zach's turn to spend dad bash's money what do you want to say arcade you can do you can stay home and do some homework no i can spend anything from five hundred to a thousand pound on zakiya a month spending money on zach makes me happy because he's happy so if he's happy i'm happy it's clear time spent with zach is precious to bash i let him play what he wants to because i know tomorrow or the day after he's going back so it's difficult for me to say no to him very difficult i want to get something from here let me get some more change he's only got me for two days and it's so hard for him to say no really hard but do you need to spend more we can go bowling uh then go to the cinema afterwards and then he'll want to go toys r us so sometimes you can do he can easily do you know 200 pound in in one one day easily like any child zack loves having parents spend money on him how much money do you think your dad spent today on him wow that'd be nice wouldn't it no it's a bit more than that but it's a simpler thing in life in life he finds quite interesting i pay for airplane it's clear zack does realize sometimes the best things in life are free [Music] but one thing that certainly isn't free is the mckenna girl's love of beauty pageants [Music] we've got the modeling competition tomorrow morning everyone in the beauty pageant has a different style everyone that's what i like about being patients you get people that wear big big dresses you get girls who wear small dresses from the side and back in the front they've got loads of clothes i'm forever bagging them up and throwing them away no you're not wearing a dress darling it's something for your talent yeah i've got you wrapped in oh you came from ralph jeans in your nice boots mackenzie knows all about i mean she's sick and she knows she likes that ralph stuff and she likes that juicy stuff right the one that we think is suitable for this pageant is this yes or no yes it is hang it up it cost a fortune you know exactly how much it cost because you bought it it's not even that expensive i won't ever pay 75 for i've completely created monsters i think i have kidding like spending the money on them girls and it's nice to do that sort of mother daughter thing the girls like it absolutely money's not an issue if that makes them happy [Music] i'm not a pageant man my god if you see some of the pageant mums they do shock me i'm not i'm there so they can is light glitter glam a great big stain [Music] but for daddy's girl chase the sparkle seems to have gone when i was at the beauty pageant i was realizing that i was missing my horse princess she's my main priority i'd rather go out on her riding but little sister mackenzie is happy to take her place [Applause] i don't want to have moms spend loads of money on pageants it's just a waste of money so it'd be fair if i just done stuck to what i love the best and do horses so if you any idea how much you've spent on horse related stuff i do but i can't put that on so they'll kill me helen's mum and dad will kill us but some things are worth every penny i like the fact that i've got something to do with my daughters chase started getting to that age where she wanted to do girl things with kelly and i sort of started i felt like i started losing her a bit and getting the also just brought us so close because we do it every night so yeah it is good i could spend thousands on that house [Music] so four spendaholic kids with four very different reasons for loving the folding stuff but when they grow up what kind of parents will they be when i'm older i plan on making sure that my own kids have the life that i've had and then they'll always have good clothes and always have money to spend i think i will spend as much of my kids when i'm older because i love them and i want to treat them and give them like a good life and it's in the future so who knows what's going to then everything could change i'd like to have two children when i'm older and i'd like i want to be a boy i want to be a girl and i'd love to spend just as much money as i get spent on and i'd like my little girl to also carry on horse riding if i get richer than the homeless person in the whole wide world i'll spoil my kids [Music] i will spoil all the people on earth even the poor people i will spoil them giving them 200 pounds [Music] you
