probably heard of Pat but I'm going to give you another way to remember the phases of mitosis just in case you forget what's happening during each phase when I was student teaching my mentor teacher taught me this pneumonic or thing to do with your hands so just follow along and you'll get it really fast prophase metaphase anaphase telophase in prophase the chromosomes are condensing getting ready for cell division the nuclear envelope is dissolving metaphase the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell along the cellular equator in anaphase the sister chromatids start to be pulled apart towards opposite ends of the cell in telophase the chromosomes decondense new nuclear envelopes start to form and in cyto Kinesis the cell actually splits in two let's do it one more time together prophase metaphase anaphase telophase cyto canis
