take a drop repeat it it's nothing to worry about you can do it next year as well so I know counseling is going to start soon and you guys are really excited and nervous about your upcoming life in Mbps ahead and so am I here for guiding you throughout this journey I am Khushi prajapati a third mbbs student from HPT Medical College in Mumbai and this is my first official long video so today I'll be talking about things you would actually need in first year or when you enter mbbs these are really practical things from my own experience I have shared and if you found this video helpful please make sure that you like share and subscribe now let's go ahead so the first and the most important thing is your white coat why code is like the Hallmark of being a medical student when you have not thought you know how good or how smart you would be looking with that white coat on you so now it's time to Adorn it but what happens is some colleges or most of the colleges have their logos on the white coat so please don't buy it Pele save so when you're allotted the college just ask your seniors and if it has a logo or not if it has a logo then buy it from that specific store or that specific retailer otherwise you can just buy it from sub uniform shop and please buy a good quality white coat I mean you will be using it for maybe four years you won't be buying Beach so please invest in a good quality apron now the second most important thing is your dissection kit so during neat one of the most uh exciting things which I've looked forward for during mbbs was this section and I guess it's the same for each one of you so I think the section is a very important part in anatomy you get to learn a lot you get to see the beauty how beautifully the nerves the veins and arteries are placed and it's really fun but you would not be able to do the section without a dissection kit so get a kit now what your kids should include so this is one normal forceps this is a tooth forcep you can see it has teeth a scalpel uh yoga to use it like a pen then some normal scissor and a blunt scissor okay and also you would be needing this Zero Brush uh the number is zero and you would be needing it uh during your neuroanatomy part so brain specimens Mark correctly you need a paint brush so just get it I need a section keep my usually so just buy one Zero Brush that's it about the dissection kit now the third most important thing is getting a detector so what is a detector it is a book basically which tells you how to dissect okay so now this is not usually red Among Us like um as students but you will need this as a pass to enter the dissection Hall if you don't have the detector you won't be allowed to enter at a section Hall so please get a detector and please don't buy it just get it from your seniors they'll give you for free maybe but do get a detector if it's strict in your college specifically and if you ask for my recommendation then I would recommend you to buy them as the sector it's actually quite a good one and shows proper incisions and very good diagrams most importantly so the fourth thing you would need are gloves gloves basically the section Hall my gloves use Hotel while doing the dissection and why you need it firstly the formalin is not a very pleasant thing to smell and usually what happens is after the section class we have our lunch so it does not really feel good to you know do the section without gloves and then have your lunch to run so yeah please buy gloves the fifth thing which I would like to suggest you to buy is a pack of masks so I got this one from Amazon for a very decent price in the section hall or be it in hospital so in the section Hall the formal and smell is really strong it literally brings tears to your eyes so please get a mask and also posting Hospital you will need a mask because there are a lot of infections around in the hospital so you need to be cautious and wear a mask when you are around in the hospital so please get a pack of masks and we are good to go okay so next thing which you would be needing are actually pencils so these are etch any pencils they are like pink and purple colored pencils and you would be needing it in anatomy in pathology so in first year basically you would need it for drawing your histology diagrams for completing your Journal which is too boring and too tiring but you will have to do it ultimately so get these 21 brand which I know of for these pencils that is staedtler so I'll link it down in the description you can get those you will get it easily on any uh stationary shop also so the next important thing is to buy these lancets so these are called glucometer lancets and what are these so basically in physiology you have a section called hematology where you have to perform experiments using your own blood so you prick your finger and you use your blood for conducting those experiments so basically there are two types of lancets one is this glucometer Lancet and other one is the steel Lancet so now these steel lancets are really thick and they're very painful and very difficult to prick with I mean but later I found about these lancets and when I use them they are so easy to use so easy to break so please get these Lancers to perform experiments so you can get a box of these so the next most important thing is one of the most awaited things you have ever wanted and it is the stethoscope so I have this microtonca stethoscope I would recommend you to buy microtone in the first and second year like during first and second year use micro tone stethoscope and then third year may or maybe finally or may you can switch to Litman stethoscope so what happens is just on the thousand something and let me get a status I mean it is safer side and when you actually need to you know hear those murmurs or proper sounds then you get a Litman there's no need to buy liquid honestly in first or second year so get a micro tone this one works really fine for me I can hear all the sounds for me okay so the next most important thing is a bone set now this is a very controversial question that should be by a bone set or should we not my suggestion would be if you can buy a bun set if you cannot don't buy it's not at all necessary When teacher teaches you about the bones they also have their own Department set you can study with those bones yeah apart from the study sessions so what you can do is uh get a bone set in a group of four or five people just share it among yourself tomorrow and you will get bones to study and next year you can sell it to your Juniors as simple as that so the next most important thing in your first year would be books and journals so journals you'll get from college or maybe some store near our college for books it's a request that please don't buy books before your college starts what people do and then they realize that it's of new use or this book is not good and then they complain so please don't buy books before your college starts do thorough research do research on YouTube ask your seniors which books they do use which book suits their University pattern and then only buy books you can get uh Second Hand books from your seniors you can get new books also whichever suits you but please don't buy books before your college starts so the last thing from my side would be a very controversial question again should we buy a tablet or iPad or should we not so if you want a very clear picture I will tell you why it's needed and should you buy or not so firstly I would say that yes go for it secondly why it's needed so in medical colleges we have a lots of resources lots of books and we can't keep on buying all of them so we need to refer to PDFs and now phones a PDF data is really tiring really difficult so a tablet does really good for that and also you watch videos for next or neat preparation videos or prepky videos so videos is much better than watching it on your phones plus unique you can make digital notes which are highly recommended on your own tablet so I think you should buy for but go for it but you don't need to buy an iPad it's just a stupid Trend I think you can go for a normal Samsung Tab this is the one which I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 light it works really well I've been using it since uh my first year and I don't have any complaints plus it's very cheap compared to an iPad it has its own pencil which you don't need to charge plus you will get some student discount also if you buy from their official website that is how I did and I got it from for less than 25 000 I don't remember the exact price so you don't need to buy an iPad if you want you can but you don't really need to so that is it from my side these are my recommendations for things you would need in first year there are a lot of things which you would be needing like a reflex hammer or a pencil torch but in first year these are the things which you
