so I go to the one the only Dumbo please what do you do guys guys welcome I haven't actually filmed the video in a while because I kind of knew that school was going to be busy and all but I kind of have like an hour of my time now so I'm gonna film a video right now what do you do guys wait let's let's take that one more time what do you do guys welcome back to my YouTube channel if you're new here today my name is Tana this video is going to be about things that people don't like about my school so I go to the one the only tumble please Liberty University that is a college that I mean right now I'm at Lu and Ellie is a conservative Christian School and obviously this is June 23 this is America they're going to be things that people don't really like and things that people think are unnecessary about this book if you're looking to come to all you at some point in your life this is something that might benefit you just so you know like things that a lot of people have issues with just so you know what you're coming into if you're there at OU bro comment down below if you actually don't like this stuff I was going to go through them and talk about them but let's get right into it one thing that I know that a lot of people don't really like about Liberty University is the rules that we have one of the rules that a lot of people like don't five below with is dress code and for the boys I want to say it's much easier because basically they just wear pants or shorts and shirts which you're not allowed to wear shorts to class you have to look like presentable in class but for the girls it's a little bit like iffy because like you want to wear this cute like crop top or like also with the fact that um it is the 21st century and a lot of people don't like being told to wear that's something that a lot of people like find difficult also like tight clothings that like emphasize your your body if you know what I'm talking about that's something that a lot of people don't like it's not really that much of an issue the worst case scenario is if you wear something that is against dress code you probably have an RA for those of you that don't know what Aries are they're practical like our residence assistants and they basically try to keep decorum on the halls and make sure like everyone is keeping to the rules and the Liberty Way so the worst case scenarios on Ari is going to walk up to you or on RS and tell you like hey you're not in dress code maybe you should check that out I don't know but yeah a lot of people don't like that and that's the first thing on my list number doe so technically we're allowed to be out Monday through Thursday till 12 and Sunday because of classes on Monday through 12th and then Friday night Saturday night like the weekend till 12 30. which people don't like but you know come to think about it I'm like I understand where they're coming from because like you're like 21 years old or however old you are and you honestly don't need some someone bossing you around telling you when you should go to bed or not but now that I think about it like this is Lynchburg literally nothing is open past like 10. at most you have like cacao and McDonald's drive-through like maybe the movies I don't know what time the movies close I don't really go to the movies but that's basically where you have open past that time so it's like if you're out past 12 30 or 12 like what are you doing like no fun places open except if you're just like chilling and hanging with your friends I know the library closes at like 11 or something so obviously you're not chilling in the library the Moss technically closes at like 12 I don't know is there like a secret hideout spot that I haven't found out about if there is and go to Liberty um DM me on Instagram I kind of want to know just in case but yeah so it's like we have curfew I know a lot of people don't like that because they don't want to maybe they don't feel like they need to go to bed by tall and things like that but I would understand why Liberty put that in place because like for instance if you have 8 15s in the morning you want to make sure you're getting like adequate sleep even if you don't have 8 15 like let's say your roommate has an 8 15 or someone on your hall has an apex and you want to be like considerate of their timing and just make sure that they are well rested you know bring your brother Skipper and all so I don't understand why they put that rule but that's like one of those that a lot of people struggle with convocation is basically just like time where we go to the vine tenor it happens every Wednesday and Friday we go to the vine Center for like 10 30 and we basically just have like a period of worship and then motivational speaker or preacher comes to talk to us and you know get us pumped and it's a time away from classes everyone has to go I think before I used to be compulsory for everyone but now it's just compulsory for Resident like on-campus students and it's been like that since covet I think I don't know if they've changed it back but that is something that everyone has to go to and a lot of people don't like it and it's understandable because sometimes the speakers that they bring to talk are like controversial and like are not exactly same things that align with certain people's worldview which is understandable I personally don't like hate complication I honestly do enjoy it most of the time and anytime like we have like a weird like speaker that I'm like I don't think that aligns with the Bible and what God has to say I just try my best to like take the good part of it because I feel like Liberty will not bring somebody that's like completely terrible to like to talk to us so there has to be like something good and what the person said that you can pick out for yourself that's what I try to do personally but I do understand why people feel like it's a waste of time though yeah that's my take on convocation as per Campus Community I honestly think that Campus Community is like not better but I think it allows us to like pay attention more basis campus communities in the evening after like whole dinner after classes in Halton and everything go for Campus Community I feel like at that point in time people are not thinking about their next class so they have like the ability to concentrate more and be like more involved in campus Community also Campus Community has longer period of worship than combo for combo they usually do like two two to three songs depending on the time that we have but Campus Community because it's at night like we're a lot so we're able to like fully like have a good period of worship which a lot of people do I appreciate so I would say Kim come on Campus Community are not the worst part of Liberty honestly I think they're pretty great I like them I go to all of them not just because I have to but like even if I didn't have to I would try my hardest to go because I do like learn things here and there and I like to like take notes and journal and like things that I feel are like questionable I like to go back to look at the Bible and be like okay what does God really say about this so I do think they're great but hey to each his own or her own I honestly would be very Bland there are a lot of like clicks and Liberty like people that you just always see them together like maybe at the Starbucks area they're always together they were in the library they're always there together but honestly I don't think they're that bad because on a general scale on this campus out like 2016 people are nice if you say hi to someone I don't think anyone on this campus except if they are just like mean and like I don't know because this school has a very like Christian like Persona about it because a lot of people here are Christians so a lot of people do things that are commanded To Us by God by like for instance being kind to one another so I do think a lot of people here are nice and a lot of people here are not going to like shut you down or anything if you do say hi to people I think they would respond for the most part they might be confused by saying hi to them which I think is understandable but for the most part I don't think anyone will necessarily not be your friend obviously some people have known each other from like high school or have been like through the school for a period of time together so it's understandable why they would like gravitate more to its familiar faces because we're humans honestly retweet I don't exactly hate the walking like about campus I just honestly think that like we don't have enough time between classes to like walk to the next class that's my thing like I live on East Campus which is a bit away from main campus and it takes me about like 15 minutes to walk from my quad to like my classes I usually have my classes on the second floor of tomorrow or the fourth floor of the month because I'm a math major well not to like the most I get to the most in like 10 minutes and then maybe five minutes to go up the stairs to the fourth floor or like wait for the elevator but like usually 12 to 15 minutes I would get to my class and that can be like annoying but at the same time it doesn't give me chance like okay for instance let's say I go for my first class and then I need to like run back to my quad to like pick up something or like they only have like 15 minutes between classes to go from one class to another if you have classes back to back and like the distance is quite a lot and there are buses but buses take longer to be honest I don't think I ever use the bus except when it's extremely cold and I don't want to walk in the cold but it's honestly fashion to just walk then wait for the bus so I do understand why the walking distance like throws people off for instance I know a friend that had like classes in green and classes in the malls so she would have tour and Green Hall is like oh wait that's like North Campus and that's like a decent bit away from Main Campus like I think about 15 minute walk too so like she would have to run from green after her class lets out to her class in DeMoss because she had classes like in green and the most back-to-back and obviously that was like not enjoyable because like you don't want to get to your class and you're all sweaty and like smelly just because you had to run and also don't like the walking like I take it as good exercise the most time I can I'm like oh especially as I don't go to the gym it makes me feel so much better by myself because I'm like oh at least I have time to like walk around campus yeah we like parking space now this Camp is like has I forgot how many students that actually go here and then we also have a lot of professors and there are only two main parking garages the one on East Campus and the one like on Main Campus this parking spaces if you come at like eight in the morning they're already full well the one on the east doesn't really get full but to be honest a lot of people don't want to park on East because it's a walk to Main Campus which is understandable on my hall there's like 90 of us I think although we're not really affected because these garage is right in front of my hall and the parking space in front doesn't even cater for like 30 people that's not kind of like handicapped parking like that's still part of the 30 and like Rd parking that's a part of 30 and maintenance parking that's the park part of third and we're not allowed to park in those so definitely parking is something that can be expanded more and put in more places now guys time to be with you food is a topic that is near and dear to my heart because I like food so I'm about to get serious with you guys we have displays called The Rock The River Thomas something dining area I don't know I don't know what the Rock stands for I've never actually said the full name of the rot so I don't know now the rock is where we get food guys the rod is not always good but that being said we also have other places in campus that have food for instance we have places like garbanzo star Ginger hey Cow Wood Fire those are all in like the Moss Starbucks they're all in the Moss you can get through there if you go to like the library we have Argo Pizza Hut we have Indians and we have Einstein Bagels if you go to North Campus that's where Green Hall is you have the salad place I forgot the name you have subco I think it's called Farmers field the salad place I think it's called pharmaceutical I'm not sure um subco you also have Chick-fil-A you have the smoothing place so we have a decent number of places to eat on campus but you see not all of them are good I'm just gonna vouch for one place on campus guys the raw is not as terrible as people say it is I know a lot of people are always like huh it's the rock it's yucky but to be honest I've had good food at the lot and not just like during seafall week for this video I don't see fall week that's like college for weekend that's when like high schoolers and people that want to go to Liberty come to experience what Liberty life is like and we always have exceptional food during people but that's not like the only time Rockford is good I feel like rock food is a lot of like depending on the day and also depending on how you know how to fix your plate no I honestly feel like as a Christian our culture should be like to the Bible like our culture should be strictly align with the Bible but there's a liberty culture here that it's like Christian but not exactly Christian and there are different areas like this affects people if I'm being honest like I know there's like the Persona that everyone has like everyone here is perfect everyone here has their act together when I as a life together and it can be like confusing at times it can be like challenging at times for someone who came into Liberty as a growing Christian I mean we all are grown Christians but like as a newly converted Christian and you're like trying to live your life for Christ but then it seems like intimidating when everyone around just seems to be perfect but let me be honest with you guys no one on this campus is perfect everyone still struggles every single day and if you tell me you don't bro you're lying because no one's perfect even the Bible says like we're not all perfect we're just strive to be like Christ I want to strive to be crushed like but like we're not perfect but it's like people here just seem to have their act together I'll tell you when I first came here my freshman year I used to like have a lot of struggles making friends just because I didn't think I had what it takes to be friends with these people because they just seem to like have their act together and there was someone intimidating because I didn't have my app together and also I was not as strong in my faith when I first moved here I mean I I was a Christian before I moved here but like I wasn't as strong as people like portrayed that they were so I don't understand how that could be like demoralized into an extent but I think honestly when you start taking right out of comparison and just place it on God like I'm not trying to compare myself to this person I'm not trying to be like this girl I just honestly want to be like God I want to like strive to be to have a righteous life like Jesus did when he was Among Us I feel like that honestly helps a lot because even till this day there are days where like I find myself compare myself to people not be not like in an endless way anymore but like I really wish I could reach this level they are but honestly when I think about it it's like you don't know how long it took that person to reach that stage and you're just looking at them like oh they have it together and I want to be like them it's going to take you a while it's going to take you time why do I have to strive to be like someone else when I could just be who my heavenly father had called me to be and I can just aim to be like Jesus so definitely I'll take the like Christian culture and the Persona here that a lot of people have can be like challenging to some people one thing that did help me grow in my faith as a Christian after moving here is like being surrounded by Christians having friends that are like daily pouring into me like praying for me and like people tell me that hey God's got your back like I love you and God loves you how many people tell me stuff like that did definitely push me to want to be a better Christian and push me to like have mentors I want to actually get to that level so honestly I wouldn't say it's overall bad but I would see how that would be an issue that someone will have coming into Liberty something I was reading in the Bible as a reason in I think it was first grade here chapter 12 I'm gonna fact check that real quick yes it was first Christmas chapter 12 verses 18 and it's tells us that well not from 18 from like 12 to like 25 to like 25 it tells us that we're like all one body of Christ but we have different parts to play and I think not only did it teach me the essence of unity but it also teaches me the need for the lack of comparison like you don't need to compare yourself to people because in the Bible it talks about oh can the legs say oh I'm not the hand so I like I'm not part of the body because I'm not the eye or I'm not part of the body because I'm not like it talks about how like the part of the Buddies can't technically compared to each other which is true because like if we're all part of the body of Christ I'm gonna have different roles to play what's the point of comparing yourself to someone else because that person can have a totally different calling than you have that person does have a totally different Chrome though you guys because we're all individuals and God created us uniquely so like what's the point of comparing yourself to them it can be like challenging because as humans our brain is like wired to like want to strive to be better based on what we see just like as an encouragement if you like draw on First Corinthians chapter 12 from verse like 12 to 25 live you can see like God's intention is not for us to compare ourselves to each other but to complement not compare but complement ourselves because if we can both work together and strive in our different areas of life as a whole body of Christ we tend to grow and that is it guys that's all
