They Didn't Expect This in a Minnow Trap!

holy cow holy cow ha ha ha little hug hmm all right Houston's here now whoo it's heavy [Music] so what's up guys today we are going down to the creek and yesterday we got like 15 minutes and we put them in yesterday and there's only three left already that's right so in the last video you guys saw we put out the traps at the creek we put out all those caught in traps we're gonna go check those this morning but after we did all that stuff I told you guys we were going to be catching minnows for Houston's little fish pond back here and I think we caught about 12 or 15 min oh yesterday right and we put them in the little fish pond in here there's already three left so out of Oh out of the 12 or 15 minutes we put in there we're down to three Paul all the little baby bluegill we caught out of the pond had already been eaten somebody's hungry in there Houston before you guys start asking what in the world is the PVC pipe in there for well I put the pipe in there so the little crawdads would have somewhere to get in yep there's one coming out of it right now good see you can see his whiskers sticking out there's a little Antanas see him so we put that in there so the crawdads would have somewhere to hide because the catfish likes to live under the rock let's see Houston's catfish are immersed yeah that's Kathy the catfish and I have a good feeling that's probably where all the minnows are disappearing to it not Houston what do you think all right well let's go check your crawdad traps hey yesterday I said we would probably have about 15 crawdads and there that was my guess your guess was 10 how many crawdad you think we caught last night Coby let's hear it Kobi doesn't speak much he's real quiet come on let's hear it guess 50 how many 50 50 50 that's what I said you can't say 15 I said 15 come on come on we got a 10 a 15 how many crawdads are down there you saw all the traps come on give us a number 17 all right boys let's go see let's go see who wins but maybe you caught some mementos to put in your fish pond because they're all getting eaten we need more minnows - you're right No before everybody starts asking where Jim is today she won't be at the creek with us because she just got a bath and Emily won't let me take her to the creek stick pots off yeah is it your turn to vacuum it looks like you're doing a great job vacuuming look at that custom arms creek and look at all these minnows they're just everywhere and we're gonna pull all these minnow traps up and crawdad traps and we're apparently going to keep some crawdads and some minnows and yeah yeah we're good two traps let's see what you're caught in your little mayonnaise jar looking trap don't know if there'll be anything in there not there looks like three crawdad no there's one two three four there's five crawdads in that trap you're closest on the first trap alright nothing in there oh yeah what's in there crowded just one yeah where's yet oh oh one little bitty crawdad in there oh well it counts see what's gonna be in there pick it up and let's see oh my gosh we're keeping those we're keeping them what's in there let's see it you didn't hold it up we're keeping those oh man houston you got some big crawdads in that one those are monsters we'll have to open that up and look at them well we're gonna have to keep those it's late they're okay I got two more Toby's going to get this one you don't have to go out in the deep water Coby stay shallow Bella what's in there I mean let me pro dad you're in there Bella mm-hmm well you got Coby bring it over here let's see what's in there man widows Oh nope no crawdads in that one well I'm waiting so far with the crawdads no put it over there all right I'll go get the one that's out in the deep water okay I told you guys the other day when we put those crawfish traps out that this this dead tree this fallen tree in the water would be a perfect habitat for crawfish throt adds what are you gonna call him and there's two big ones in that cage that was in that trap that was in that tree so let's see what's out here in the deep water holy cow holy cow little hug hmm all right Houston's here now oh it's heavy I saw what was in it I caught a glimpse all right hang on hang on hang on hang on get back Bella back up boys back up back up back up gave me the heebie-jeebies here you ready what is it we caught a pretty good-sized little catfish but we got a problem that guy's probably not real happy with us be careful get back boys get back I don't know if he's alive because he's been underwater for so long he should he's probably dead yeah I think the snake got trapped underwater see they have to come up and breathe and he went in that trap to catch a fish and he didn't make it out to get oxygen but he's laying there with his mouth wide open you're back well he's definitely stiff and we got a huge catfish I say huge for a minnow trap it's huge all right let's go get everything out of these traps okay I know I saw something that looks like a log what do you think is that what you expected the kitchen your minnow trap today all right well let's go count everything that we got all working on getting that snake out take those traps up to the buggy boys here I'll open this up and you dump them in there okay yeah look at the size of these two man Huston those are like eating size look at the pinchers on that guy what do you think Bella they didn't pinch it come on Bella come on let them paint your ear let's see this other one well we know where to go to find the big crawfish now don't we a little bit aside all right let's see what Kobe's got we got to open it up here go I got three little bluegill so there's just one little bitty one in that one right yeah yeah one little bitty guy so the trap that has been the most successful is the goofy looking little three dollar mayonnaise jar looking trap it has the most now it didn't have the biggest obviously was the three yeah all right yeah count up how many crawdads we got in there I don't know if there's any in the big trap seven huh well let's go see I'm not sure if there was any in the big snake trap but I gotta get that snake out of there I don't know if that was a poisonous snake or not I'm pretty sure it's dead but I want to make sure all right back that horse back up oh look at that guy here no idea what kind of snake that is but looks like a good one to eat no no we're not eating that snake okay that is definitely a good snake that's a dead water snake I don't mind losing water snakes in the creek at all because that just makes it safer for us down here mom gets freaked out when snakes are at the creek right yeah okay let's see what all we got let's uh get everything into one tub with some clean water so we can show everybody what we got okay well I was probably from that snake snake got in there and tried to eat him what do you think okay I mean that's a pretty good not a a fish trapping I mean we got some we got two really big crawdads houston's wanted to put this catfish in his in his little fish pond but I told him that's too big because he'd eat all the rest of our fish but these little crawfish like that make good food for our fish in the tank most of these bluegill those those are too big to be feeding to what we got so we'll turn those back in the creeks probably that one's a little green sunfish is way too big to put it in our tank so what's the official count let's see one two three four five six 7:8 I was the closest 8 crawfish your guest - hi Kobe so definitely not a bad night I got spots on the lens got my camera I'm up my phones ding and getting text message probably Dutch Dutch is always texting me anyway so we got 8 crawfish overnight three or four little bluegill a pretty good-sized little catfish a green sunfish no minnows we didn't catch any small minnows I just knew one of those traps would probably have six or eight little minnows in it that we could put in the pond so not a bad night of trapping it's very hot out here by the way so we're going to turn everything loose except maybe the little small crawdads what are you gonna do with them how many crawdad jig I'm putting your little pond but you already got like four or five other ones in there we'll take them back though we'll put them in there so I guess we're feeding a lot of crawfish so far we've only lost we lost the Big Creek monster a while back that guy the only lasted less than 24 hours the rest of the crawfish have stayed alive in Houston's little pond we got that little floating bubbler well it supposed to be a fountain but it's a solar-powered fountain they get up underneath there's an air cavity underneath it and they'll suck up on the bottom of that and get oxygen they're living just fine so anyway so we're gonna get all this raft up getting put up we got rid of one snake that may be a cottonmouth but I'm not positive the cut around here cottonmouth is a poisonous water snake we've got lots of water moccasins that are non poisonous but they're usually longer and slimmer the cottonmouth at least in our area is usually a short thick snake and when they open their mouth it's solid why it looks like cotton and they're very poisonous they're a very aggressive water snake the rest of them are real passive they don't bother you I don't know for sure I'm not gonna open his mouth he is dead he didn't you got in that trap overnight and died my intention is not to come out here and kill animals we're not here to kill the snakes and kill the fish but it's just kind of a it kind of happens and I'm not I'm not too worried about killing a snake because our family is on this Creek all the time and friends come in and people come down here so if that was a venomous cottonmouth I'm finally getting rid of it there's a lot of water snakes you guys saw in the the nighttime footage when Houston I went out here frog hunting the other night he we found one little snake we didn't bother that one they left it there and it's just fine but here's what it is so Houston wins Houston wins the crawfish competition but I am I'm really thinking putting those traps out there next to that tree lured in some big crawfish that are almost big enough for a catching cook Houston I'm thinking maybe in the future as the summer progresses and Houston gets good at catching crawfish she gets this mastered maybe we can catch enough crawfish to do a crawfish catch clean and cook Houston what do you think talk normal would you eat a crawfish out of your own Creek yes you would I know bear would honey Emily Emily's the crawfish person she loves eating crawfish so let's turn that off so the water slick Bella sure wish you'd go somewhere else in Fant all right Houston reach down in there and get them big crawdads so we decided to go ahead and stop down to Creek with the Nets and then a few more minutes since we were down to three already and we didn't catch any in the traps so we didn't catch four or five minutes didn't show you guys that Houston was dying to bring these big crawfish back so he's gonna put them in his pond we're gonna all have to listen to Bella pant cause it's just hotter than Hades here in Oklahoma so let's get them in the pond I turn the water off turn the waterfall off so we can see everything so let's get them in there hang on wait buddy wait wait wait wait wait peanut look at the size of that one just legs I mean heads can we fit in one bucket got him yep I mean you just grab a hope I mean whoa a little fat going on under the rock holy cow they don't like them that crawfish wouldn't takin no smack off that catfish though oh here they go watch it watch it watch yeah yeah so we're going to put one little warm in there to see if anybody's home here so let's do it go so we can see it each Coby was thinking about it Houston he's watching that worm go for it buddy you got this you can do this well guys that's about all we've got for today Coby you're hiding back there buddy we can't see you everybody wants to see Jacoby smiling face on the channel but turned out pretty good I didn't catch near as many crawdads in the traps as what I'd hoped but we used dog food for bait that time we're gonna try around with some different things obviously the minnows didn't go for the dog food so we if you want minnows bred so far has been the best thing but Houston's little fish pond back here is doing good the worms going already yes we just missed it so we'll put another worm in there keep everybody happy they were
