beautiful it's uh gonna be almost 90 degrees muggy as hell and i love it no putting on 15 layers and no shoveling snow today anyways just giving you the conditions because we're in one of uh the areas we've been working this past summer actually been working it for years and the trail path entrance area the weeds and grass are about four feet tall so there's no going through there right now because everything is absolutely soaking wet so what i'm doing is i'm skirting around this pond where there's a game trail and well it's just beautiful anyway so let's do it right and honestly i don't know what's going to happen today i'd like to do some metal detecting but being that i'm redirecting my course i don't know where i'm going to end up which is always kind of fun in the not thursday theme anyways we will have options for different old home sites and seller holes to go to but right now it's just keep moving that way along the game trail avoiding the four foot tall grass i don't need to be soaking wet before i even start doing anything yeah guess we're just gonna go so let's go i've been creeping along the edge of the pond and as usual getting to the point where the rhododendrons take over and [Music] i don't care how much you want to move through it you'll be lucky if you can move at all through it i've never actually been this far down along the pond it is kind of kind of open up there but as you see as we turn around this was worked land it just uh is overgrown as we get further this way i don't know i'm gonna keep moving always keep moving forward and being i haven't really been over here there's no better time than right now yeah you can see it's walled so definitely squared off worked land not too bad in there maybe i'll turn on we're gonna be walking through it anyways yeah so i guess we'll just keep going until we can not or we end up somewhere well a signal way out here [Applause] that's a rock oh not only is it good it's great and we just totally got lucky walking at random it's a it's a pretty good size oxen knob nice i love it when that happens uh wandering has its rewards obviously we're walking through old farmland so anything's possible nice yep shotgun willie huh it's a coin probably clad and it's a dime oh i talked about the randoms today that's good though fun stuff i like days like today when i just go out at random and walk and you find things 1985 on the coin by the way so somebody was out here roaming around like us odd numbers unless the casing of sorts or a bottle cap no or something completely different oh wow i know it's a watch band a collar whatever but it's a thing and there's more that's the other buckle part see stuffing things out in the middle of nowhere that's why we're having fun today well we've been out here a little bit a little while it's getting quiet as far as i've gone out but things are drying off i'm gonna start making my way down to a cellar hole area that's it's a mess but i think i'll just keep walking and swinging because uh so far it's working with finding things and it looks like it's under an old log sheet metal we are getting closer to the old home site though so things are starting to make noise this is how you know you're getting closer all that nail iron and we are like i don't know four or five hundred feet away still but the closer we get the more activity [Music] mission accomplished we got a button nice shank is gone but that's all right i think it's got a ring of text on the back so it's early to mid 1800s awesome in a small way i'm kind of trying to avoid going over to the seller hole today because like i said it's it's been logged pushed and was a dump for a while but by staying away from it it'll make me work out in the side yards a little more which needs to be done anyways [Applause] very nice a little cuff or sleeve button with shank folded i thought that was going to be ammo it just didn't sound deep oh cool it's got a little design on the front too [Applause] i was just checking that yep numbers are right on 22 casings so 1800 button modern day thing wow another button you guys are right where the last button and casing came from this actually looks like pewter i didn't have to move far for that steep and it's big [Music] huh so a cast pot bean pot dutch oven bottom with leg out here so interesting little zone you can see the water out in the back obviously you don't have too much further to go bean pot first button other two buttons just in the middle of all this this is where the activity is at always makes you wonder why could be another 22. [Applause] no another button there had to have been a small building out here had to have been these buttons are you know generations apart so right there the two right there and the bean part and the other thing right there other button i mean just the age differences of them alone are one thing but not everybody's going to go out into the small side field and lose their stuff right here could have been an old shade tree which you know if it's been gone 150 years there'd be no signs of it yeah weird but wonderful the whole thing that's why it was loud so the boxing knob and dime earlier were total luck just walking way out there and hitting them this was a matter of following the indicators primarily the iron in the ground i'm glad i took the time to walk through here let's see what this is shotgun willie but an intriguing day to say the least yeah right here that's the thing about these old new england places a lot of time in between for people to do things and you're never gonna know why when or what but this will help you find it you
