Wow that's terrible. Their ultra cartridge filters are actually pretty good though
Can everyone else please put grips on their filters?
The Fram Ultra is actually a very good filter. The base filter is just that, a 3k mile filter.
For where I am located and my specific situation I can only find the fram Ultra in stock for a higher end synthetic filter without having to order online. It's also cheaper than a NAPA gold or their more expensive variant.
I've been running it on both my cars since ice owner them and I've been happy. I have at least 2 of them (used) I can cut open. I might do that and make a quick post of it.
Mobile 1 extended performance filters are where it's at
I got FRAM because it was thr only thing available here at the time. What are the best options so I can order in the same time as new oil filters?
OEM when possible.
Good video, but to truly gauge the quality of the filter you'd also have to measure the effectiveness of the filter media at removing debris (same as has been done with air intake paper filters).
Fram has been shit for literally decades.
I tend to stick to WIX filters, which are very highly regarded. FRAM filters are not highly regarded, in general.
And, now for the nerdy car stuff: When in doubt, WIX 51515 will probably work.
