The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 1: 'Rick Grimes Legacy & Commonwealth Arc' | Teaser

so here we are the final season of the walking dead has begun its production we have a set photo here that was posted on the walking dead twitter account and it does show that shooting has begun in the uh destroyed alexandria as we can see here in the photo things aren't looking too well for the safe zone things still haven't been looking too well for the hilltop either but maybe that'll change by the time the first episode of season 11 rolls around now in this video i do just want to go over what exactly we're going to be getting from season 11. what exactly our characters are going to be dealing with and what the main story arc of the final part of the show is going to be so if you guys do enjoy this video i am going to ask you to please subscribe and also hit that notification bell walking dead as well and let's not forget about that rick movie because that's going to start production very soon as well and i cannot wait to be covering that with you guys it's going to be awesome to see rick rhymes back on the screen but that's another topic for another video so let's move on into this so just from the basic synopsis that we've gotten for season 11 it looks like that most of it is going to be centered around the commonwealth and where exactly that whole arc is going to go which definitely makes sense it was the last arc in the comics and it was quite a big arc now um the tv show is definitely gonna have to do a few things differently with this arc as a lot of the big moments have characters involved in them that aren't on the show anymore you have one of them with dwight and you have one with rick as well there's quite a few other characters that had some big moments in this arc in the comic as well it's just kind of unfortunate that we're not going to get to see it that way but it also does leave room for a lot of creativity that they could pull with the commonwealth i think that they could turn this into a very good story and obviously they have to make it celebrate the 12 years of the walking dead 13 years by the time that it's over and what it represents and just you know how far the show has came and you know now i personally think they do have to find a way to integrate rick's whole story arc on the show into this season somehow um because obviously rick is still on the show in spirit in my opinion i think that a lot of what they do is very revolved around rick i mean there's going to be episodes in the rest of season 10 that directly revolve around his apparent death and what daryl had to go through and of course the only reason that negan is still even on the show is because rick wanted him to stay alive so you know everything that's going on right now on the show still has to do with rick in some way shape or form and i just think they need to find a way to celebrate his legacy and maybe even bring him back for one cool scene that i think we could see now i have heard rumors and stuff like that or even just fans of the show wanting some plot twist ending for rick's character just like they did at the end of the comic spoilers by the way they did jump 20 years into the future at the end of the comic book and you got to see carl when he was much older and what i think they could do for the end of season 11 is give us a quick flash forward maybe for even a whole episode or maybe just for 10 seconds who knows as long as they give it to us in some way i think we could see judith walking around the community about 20 years in the future she's walking around saying hi to some of our known characters and people that we recognize and then she walks into her house and the person that happens to be inside is rick and he's taking care of her son which happens to be named carl because everything came full circle at the end all the way back from season one the original story arc was rick finding carl and at the end of season 11 he found carl and it doesn't happen to be the same carl at the end of it but it still would wrap up the story and you know a nice good way but enough with that uh there's still going to be tons of other aspects to season 11. now we have to figure out what exactly is going on with negan and we're not going to know that for sure until after the end of season 10 because we are getting a very negan centric episode it's you know going to be flashbacks and stuff to his past now i do have a quote here from the showrunner and it states the commonwealth story really touches on things i think are very relevant about class and about society robert kirkman has really tapped into something that i think a lot of us are thinking about she goes on to say obviously we've had to pivot to these other episodes that are part of the sort of season 10 continuation block and then for season 11 there's just these stories with themes that are meaningful to all of us so when she's talking about class and about society i really hope they're not tapping into real world politics or anything like that i think that's very divisive especially nowadays so i really hope the walking dead doesn't take away our escapism and that's my only hope for this season i really hope they can finish off strong and they never touched on any of the stuff that every single other show has to touch on nowadays so i hope the commonwealth is something a little bit different than that i hope it's kind of going into something a little bit more like what the comic did and hopefully that's what it is i just really hope they don't tap into anything real world so if there's anything that you think
