The Walking Dead | Chandlers Riggs Throws Shade At Gimple

so a funny thing happened on Twitter yesterday Chandler Riggs actually said something about Scott Gimple it was in response to something it's just a little bit more evidence that him leaving the show was a very rocky transition so basically everyone's been speculating who the voice on the radio was a lot of people thinking it was it has some connection to Rick others saying the Commonwealth which also makes more sense maybe some new group possibly just to add more to the roster after all the pike deaths but the walking dead Twitter account responded with you will need to read the comics that heavily implying that it's likely to be the Commonwealth so really the official Walking Dead Twitter saying that nearly confirms it's the Commonwealth that just tried to contact the group through Eugene's radio and that's a whole other thing in itself but the point is Chandler Riggs responded to them saying that's what I told Scott Gimple which is hilarious because obviously Carl is a very very important character in the show and Scott Gimple getting rid of him was pretty dumb he's basically throwing some shade at Scott Gimple for firing him and killing Carl off like the way he did now it's always been in the air how things really went down at first it seemed like it was all mutual of course whenever you're working in Hollywood and you get fired or you leave a show you never attack the director that's just ensuring that you never work in Hollywood again so of course you're gonna spend some stories to make it seem like everything went very smoothly but Carl's death just it really came out of nowhere I don't think anything went squeaky clean behind the scenes and after all this time with a far better idea on how everything actually went down like according to his dad he was called to a meeting with Scott Gimple alone which I suppose normally doesn't happen there's usually more people in the room instead of just Scott Gimple so understandably Chandler Riggs was concerned and there's that there's a lot more to that but basically he was just concerned and people told him Carl was would be dying in a few episodes and Chandler Riggs was pretty devastated according to what his dad said on the walking dead tour Facebook page all of this just fascinating because in the in an interview Chandler Riggs gave a week or so after leaving the show he said that it was bittersweet leaving the show he didn't want to leave exactly like he wasn't looking for an exit like denied regret is or lauren cohan or Andrew Lincoln they all kind of followed suit I think I think Carl actually would have still been on the show even throughout season 10 even if Andrew Lincoln will still wanted to leave the entire process to get to the point of wanting to kill such an iconic character off The Walking Dead someone like Carl who is still alive in the comics I'd imagine he would have gotten Henry's plotline and such except for the pike death and spoilers for that it's just it's a shame this actually had to happen the show we could have had right now would be what it would just have so much potential but there's no use in speculating on that since you can't turn back time but it's worth mentioning Chandler Riggs did respond to the same Twitter account saying that he was just kidding so any kind of drama that was going on is pretty calm at this point of course he don't want to actively criticize the people that just employed you you know for very obvious reasons I'm sure his response there was kind of an accident like he slipped up for a second it just goes to show that the hate Scott Gimple is getting is is not entirely unwarranted messing with the show to disconnect from the comics it's based on should be done very very carefully x whopping out the old guys death in the earlier season but bob instead all of it is a character swap there's nothing too huge there well one thing you should never do is kill a pivotal important character that's still alive in the comics I should be the first thing that you don't do when you're the showrunner what's called get balls done is not 100% bad but hating on him could take up many many videos because he has messed up in the past anyways I thought this whole little drama was kind of interesting because it seems we keep getting a little bit more and more every I don't know a couple months whenever Chandler Riggs does an interview really he's been a very active on Twitter ever since he was quote unquote fired I guess he kind of left the show but anyways until next time remember to Like and subscribe for more Walking Dead videos and thanks for watching [Music]
