welcome back to bike matters today's video we're going to be looking at some of the absolute best three-wheel scooters currently available in 2023 Pietro MP3 started this entire Trend back in 2006 and the latest entry-level version was freshly updated last year with a number of improvements to make it better than ever the most noticeable upgrade is the Euro 5 compliant 300cc High Performance Engine with electronic fuel injection it means the MP3 300 now has improved power while actually being more economical when it comes to fuel consumption something else worth noting is that the MP3 300 is classified as a trike can therefore be ridden with a standard car driver's license handles much like a Twist and go Maxi scooter with its quadrilateral suspension allowing you to lean like a regular bike but with the increased traction and stability of three wheels a locking mechanism keeps the scooter upright when you come to a standstill and there's even a handbrake as well if you want your mp3 yamaha's tri-city125 is designed from the ground up to be an urban commuter unlike most other three-wheel scooters the front wheels are set up with slightly closer spacing for a more agile and streamlined design that does mean the Tri-City isn't classified as a trike but because it's a one two five it can still be ridden with a CBT probably one of the most accessible models on the list here tri-city125 has an extremely light weight as well compared to the other scooters that we're going to be talking about in this video it weighs in at just 168 kilos of a full tank of petrol so that means things like an upright Locking System aren't really required because you can simply put your foot down that stands still without having to balance a big bulky machine each wheel has independent suspension allowing the choice City to lean and handle just like a traditional scooter and the narrower shape means that it's going to cut through traffic even easier than some of these other bikes do the tri-city125 has just been updated with yamaha's latest Blue Core Euro 5 engine that means it's going to have excellent tried and tested 125cc performance and economic fuel consumptions priced at 4 450 pounds so if you're looking for the most cost effective way to get started on the Freewheel scooter this could be it the Metropolis Allure is peugeot's entry into the Freewheel scooter market and meets all the requirements to be ridden with a car license including the upright locking mechanism foot brake pedal and the wide front wheel spacing in fact the visuals on this are very reminiscent of a Peugeot car with its angular headlights front grille and the familiar badge the Metropolis is fully Euro 5 compliant it packs in a lot of Technology including dual tilting front wheel ABS tire pressure sensor and daytime running LED lights for maximum visibility a spherical mirrors which aim to increase your field of vision and traffic and there's electronically adjustable windscreen as well the Metropolis Allure offers great performance with its 35.6 horsepower four-throw engine and the extra comfort you get from a three-wheeler spacious proportions mean that you can easily take the scooter out on tour as well the latest price on one of these is 899 pounds the Yamaha Tri-City 300 is the larger version of the 125 machine we looked at earlier on in this video it now comes with a Euro 5 compliant 300cc four-stroke engine so that it significantly boosts the power and it has a few other extras up its sleeve as well including ABS traction control smart key and a standing assist system the standing assist system basically allows you to lock the front wheels in an upright position with the Press of a button so again you won't have to prop up that 239 kilo weight when you're standing still with it with that said the Tri-City 300 is actually the lightest three-wheeler in its class at that weight so that's pretty good in terms of its power to weight ratio as well unlike yamaha's other three-wheel offerings the Nikon and tri-city125 this 300cc version can be written on a car license depending on license restrictions so you do need to check your license to make sure it's applicable but still it requires a higher budget than the 125 version but in return you get more comfort and more power unlike all the other models here the Can-Am Riker isn't really a motorcycle or a scooter it's a slightly more traditional trike that handles like a super powered go-kart or quad it does have a Twist to go automatic transmission as well as motorcycle style handlebars and a saddle but that's about where the similarities end the Riker weighs in at 280 kilos with an empty tank which makes it one of the heaviest machines on the list fortunately it also has a 900cc inline three-cylinder Engine with 82 horsepower and 79 newton meters of torque so this thing can really shift even with a bit of weight on it there's a bunch of customization options available you can get different panels with different colors to customize the look of it as well as your choice of the 600 or 900 cc engine options also separate Sport and rally editions which pack in their own unique features too as a more traditional trike the Can-Am Riker can of course be ridden on a car license and it features a handy reverse mode as well the price starts at 12 853 pounds for the standard 900cc version so it is one of the more expensive models but it's also the most unique for apps as well the MP3 530 hpe exclusive is the latest addition to piaggio's MP3 lineup it comes with a high performance Euro 5 engine and a host of Premium features basically takes all the great things to lower capacity mp3 has to offer and brings it to the next level the engine is a 530cc single cylinder it produces 44 horsepower and 50 new meters of torque that makes it one of the most powerful three-wheel scooters ever made having said that it's a pretty hefty machine as well it weighs in at 280p kilos with a full tank so it's not going to be the fastest Maxi out there but still the performance is very respectable for this category you might think maneuvering a 280 kilo scooter could be a bit intimidating but like all MP3s the 530 exclusive can be locked in an upright position at a standstill so you won't have to support its weight directly there's also a highly reverse gear and even a rear view camera which can feed Clear Vision to the large 7-inch TFT Dash while you're moving backwards plenty of attention has been given to making sure this scooter is as comfortable as possible as well it's got a spacious C ample leg room it's pretty much perfect both for everyday riding and longer distance touring comes with cruise control it's got line spot information system the mp3530 HP exclusive is the crown jewel in the MP3 range and it comes priced at 11 500 pounds so it's definitely one of the more expensive three wheel options but it offers Superior power a host of tech features and its offers a truly unique riding experience the Nikon GT is getting a fresh update for 2023 and it remains one of the most unusual motorcycles on the market this 2023 version is now packing the latest 890 CC CP3 eu5 engine straight out the mt-09 so it's going to have enhanced power and acceleration over the previous model yamaha's leaning multi-wheel technology on the front end allows the bike to reach 45 degree lean angles for some mean cornering ability now the Nikon is 70 kilos heavier than its two-wheel counterparts so don't expect quite the same hooligan performance as the mt-09 has but with that said it's certainly no slouch eBay can easily hit 120 mile an hour top speeds where the Nikon really excels is in its stability obviously the extra wheel means extra grip and the extra comfort and windshielding offered from its design will play a big role as well especially when it comes to touring the latest GT version has a high screen heated grips side cases rear carrier and it really maximizes that touring capability the Nikon GT starts from Sixteen thousand two hundred pounds comes loaded with features including traction control adjustable suspension ride modes slipper clutch up and down quick shifter cruise control you name it it's there it is classed as a motorcycle so you're gonna need a full motorcycle license to ride one of these but if you're an experienced rider and you're looking to try something completely new there's nothing on the road quite like this we'll round out the list with kymco's highly anticipated cv3 it's going to release early 2023 and it aims to be the most powerful three-wheel Maxi scooter in the category the cv3 will feature independently leaning front wheels as you expect from one of these new three-wheel scooters and it's got the same 550 CC parallel twin engine already seen in kymco's excellent ak-550 Maxi scooter the cv3 is going to produce 51 horsepower and 52 newton meters of torque peaking at 6000 RPM with a claimed top speed of 105 miles per hour the cv3 meets all the requirements to be ridden with the UK Kai license too as long as it was issued before 2005 13 and combined with its ultra low emissions and claimed 55 MPG this could be an excellent choice for car drivers looking for something a little bit more convenient and a little bit more economical on their City commutes the Kimco cv3 comes loaded with tech features it's got ride modes heated grips keyless ignition cruise control ABS it's also the standing assist system to hold the bike upright a foot pedal brake a large 6-inch TFT display and it's got kimco's Nudo Sat Nav technology built into it the price is going to be 11 999 pounds and it definitely looks set to be an excellent addition to the high-end Freewheel scooter
