Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I think itโs interesting but itโs honestly just a resurgence in 2000โs styles. All of the 2000โs trends are coming back. Even just looking, for example, at Olivia Rodrigoโs debut album, the aesthetics are full blown 2000โs with the stickers and everything.
i get it, theyโre trying to be an aesthetic, which is great and all but god looking back at the movies, the whole wardrobe department needed a least a warning or a write up or some kind of criticism because looking back now, the outfits were HIDEOUS but of course, 10 year old me wanted to look like bella so bad, but these tik tokers actually make the clothes look nice
I just watched this video and I am triggered! We didnโt look good in 2007!! Why do people want to look like this!! The long camisoles with the lace at the bottom! Worn under absolutely everything. I am dead. But honestly at the same timeโฆ sometimes I see teen girls on social media looking so trendy and grown up, I also think โgood, Iโm glad theyโre going through an awkward, terrible fashion phaseโ
This video runs through a tiktok aesthetics based on Twilight and Vampire Diaries; highlighting common elements such as boot cuts, denim, henleys, empire waists, lockets, etc; interesting analysis of the fashion of the time and what it means to be in resurgence today, with emphasis on continued lack of diversity and environmental impact. Do you think she missed anything? What do you think of the fashion of twilight or the claims of this video?
