The Tornado V3 Blew My Mind!

in 2009 I saw my first Rubik's Cube then in April 2010 I went to my first competition and now it's 2023 and I'm almost 30. safe to say in the world of cubing I'm like a fossil I started cubing during its Golden Ages right around the time when all sorts of companies were making improvements on The Limited design of the Rubik's Cube my first Speed Cube was the type A1 or Alpha One oh it's basically just a glorified Rubix mechanism with adjustable spring okay not a huge Improvement so in the beginning there was the type A there was type F Type C then there were the Diane cubes like the guhang and the zhanchi and then Along Came Mo you would just flip the game on its booty and drop the way long and the Avalon my favorite cube of all time by the way then there was Gan and chiyi then X-Men designs and mofeng xiaoshi msq yushin YJ zangster okay whoa the cubing Market got a little over saturated at least for me and that is why the last 3x3 Speed Cube that I bought was the Gana air SM from exactly five years ago if Felix can break records with a zhanchi and Max Park and break records with again um or SM why do I someone barely averaging 13 seconds eat a cube with adjustable Springs maglev compression tension settings adjustable magnets core magnets oh decision overload I guess you can call me old school because back in my day cubes were a lot simpler and more user friendly Jesus lose with gravitas oh golly I must be getting older you goddamn kids don't know how good you have it listen here you little why is it not real breaking my day all we had was the good old-fashioned Rubik's cube made by Chrome Mr honorable we didn't have a lousy gin 19 PDA what's my call it we'd be lucky if we could solve it at all let go in less than one minute the thing was so hard to turn very lucky never took Bloom very well you couldn't detention the damn thing in the beginning there was Rubik's then there were the first speedcubes and then the moyuz the Gans the cheese came along and now we have this five years later and this is gonna be my first unboxing so this is what I've been using for the past five years this is a Ganer SM magnetic I magnetized it yes sir and yeah this thing is outdated to say the least just feel slow and it feels good upgrade screw this we need scissors and you have a knife it was way too difficult all right boom I went for it so it's not the newest one it's not the wise 3M that everyone's talking about but you know what it's pretty new to me Mr old cuber over here so I haven't felt a new 3x3 in a long time I have a feeling this is gonna blow my mind or underwhelm me either one of the other I'm Rusty hey yo this packaging always this fancy I don't remember that is kind of sick I'm not gonna lie whoa look at that it was a little tote bag hell yeah well I've been wanting one of these yeah yeah okay so this is before [Music] and this is new huh whoa whoa oh my gosh that feels weird so fast oh my god it feels like there's no friction oh it's gonna take some getting used to oh my gosh wow okay I need to show this to Emily all right this is my girlfriend Emily what's up baby I want to know your genuine reaction after playing with that old thing I don't think yeah that thing's cold okay so that's a baseline right that's the old that's the new so what do you think yeah it's nice okay so what do you think it's like smoothing smoother and it kind of locks into place easier that's cool that's core magnets that's crazy like cubes have core magnets now so there's magnets that connect these two pieces but this piece connects to the core like on the inside people watching know what I'm talking about but yeah that's what you're feeling and that is trippy whoa what is this this is like I feel like I'm in the future or something cubes have never been this good in my life like this is weird this feels so old all of a sudden I'm like what the hell is that 2017-18 about this in March five years ago geez Louise all right well [Music] all right guys I hope you enjoyed that funny first half of the video it's really fun to get creative there and do some skits and work my filmmaking magic so basically this cube is now my main and I'm super amazed with how much better cubes have got like it's incredible the difference between this Cube and my previous main again SM is it's like night and day it's it's like so light fluid and just buttery like I love it it's almost difficult to control at times that's kind of what I've been struggling with so this session you're watching here the first like half of these solves I did an average of 50 the first 25 solves I was like doing so bad I just felt so like um I had no control it just Cube felt so fast so I pretty much cleaned it out re-lubed it and then it just felt really solid again and then I started getting some 12s uh 11 some a nine so I was sick but yeah right now I got my tensions on um let's see five on the arrow and then three below the arrow so I don't know what that means it's probably spring compression five and then tension three I think maybe that is the magnet settings are just at three so right in the middle I tried them at Max it felt a little too strong but yeah I mean this is ridiculous uh I've already noticed my averages getting a lot better um and I'm going to continue to use this thing and hopefully in the future I can get the opportunity to try some new stuff out and just see see how the technology is progressing um I've always kind of been a hater progression you know I always thought cubes were just a little bit too much like every Cube was just doing the same thing and uh always trying to use the same technology and just trying to put as much gimmicks into their cubes as possible but I mean this one is truly truly an improvement for me and
