The Time Lamar Jackson Blew Out #2 Florida State

freshman excelled late in the year and has been explosive in the first two games when he gets out in the open field it's dangerous florida state has to be worried about his running ability big arm with accuracy wait do you see his ability to throw the ball down field today and that'll be big for florida state they've had some busts and coverage broken coverages and louisville looking to exploit that this afternoon deep shot for a touchdown on the very first play against syracuse doesn't happen today as they hand it off to brandon radcliffe and he's loose red clipped into florida state territory so no deep shot but still a big play to get things going in depots that was an uncharacteristic miss so jackson keeps it play action second and ten a higher shot delivered and smith has it jalen smith bangs down stays on the end zone and they're going to knock him out short they spot him just short he thought he got in keeper jackson catch back scores third straight game but against a much tougher opponent the cardinals offense strikes very quickly some coverages look at this he's me he misreads 16 q but even after he misreads it on his own wreath you think it's a cook deep drop pocket now breaks down and is dropped for a short loss at the 40. the angela brown comes out with a football but it's no fumble he's got to look to his left here instead he's splashed immediately in sacks devonta fields trying to make a big push in his senior year with all the scouts watching today got to the quarterback great pass rusher for louisville nobody there to pick up devonte fields but it was the blitz on the inside from kelsey that brought the tackle down nobody in the backfield no running backs think on that as jackson does take a shot complete quick's got it out to the 45-yard line and now the cardinals are in business they can get the tempo going yeah they're hitting himself to the pass game he's a different guy one second one delivers from the pocket somehow it gets through traffic and quick is off and running knocked out inside the five somehow that ball goes through a diving attempt to pick it and quick says thank you very much mcfadden is right there he actually tips the ball up into the office between the knees his left arm a shoulder and his two legs right there watch mcfadden he's a great position he jumps on the route jackson rolls out and just waltzes into the end zone a hat trick of rushing touchdowns in the first half to go with a touchdown pass and the cardinals are rolling to halftime with a huge lead on that crucial possession [Applause] tyler gets a good boot away with the wind at his back and chases alexander back deep but he's got some running room look out into the secondary up and running and louisville with a special teams touchdown pass the lead jo here alexander 69 yards [Applause] right here by 24 cannon a safety on special teams and you and i marveled at the effort from louisville in practice on thursday every time a player got a hands on a football they go 70 or 80 yards quarterback in the pocket delivers over the middle eye throw caught by nicotine a flag is down they move it inside the 30 but the flag was down here the o-line pit i think it might be a hands in the face on florida state derek knotty got his hands up into the offensive lineman there personal foul continuous hands to the face [Applause] that time he hands it off and radcliffe a long way around the right end gets down inside the five it'll be first and goal defender running around the field and they hand it to smith who runs the other way and just waltzes in for another easy touchdown [Applause] [Music] three pressure again up the middle francois hammered and dropped for a huge loss harvey clemens that time joining the fun we talked about a mentality chris how about this for a mentality on third down double blitz and not only that the man who ends up coming clean is the free safety harvey clemons great job they bring one more than the line [Applause] he's going to have a terrific career and expect him to bounce back from this but this is a hard lesson learned here in louisville today alexander trying to add to it he's loose again a foot race just brought down a touchdown saving tackle through that [Music] chased again dropped again jonathan greenart in on the axe [Applause] jackson look out makes a cut why not spin in for another touchdown unbelievable he has seized this national stage and made a strong early early heisman statement you know how everybody has a kind of a heisman play that you see the highlights over and over and over again they sense that i think right there look at that what an exclamation point for him today and against the knowles defense this isn't syracuse that's florida state's defense he just walked right through 47 yards scamper came straight 100 yard rushing games there's a flag on the p-80 we'll check that after we come back but lamar jackson spinning and twisting to six more francois intercepted thrown right into the hands and chucky williams down inside the 10 as the frustration continues it's radcliffe in the eye formation he's got it straight ahead moving the pile no signal yes touchdown now up huge against a defensive line that has surrendered louisville again just wanted it more such a great compliment to lamar jackson with his power and how tough he is to bring down the knolls have him at the two-yard line but he keeps his legs moving and those linemen do a good job of pushing in the cross he's easily into the end zone argentina throwing for the end zone a high throw tate goes up for it and makes a catch his second touchdown reception of the game he went up over alexander just down i mean it's bowman who has the honors here this time no lead against the knolls slipping away they started fast and furious built a huge lead and then kept it rolling in a dominant third quarter in the knolls under 300 yards limiting dalvin cook to 54. and francois to 101 passing yards great group effort lamar jackson will get a lot of attention but we talked it was the offense the group around lamar jackson the defense and the special teams team effort today bobby petrino had him ready to go no two when they beat the knolls in overtime they stormed the field ripped down the goal post more restrained reaction today this fan base no longer significance of this one for you it's just a great team win played great defense special teams made plays offense made plays i can't be more proud of the entire team but your defense was playing angry a great game this week they were flying around tackled really well and did a great job of pressuring the quarterback coach i know it's only week three it's early and you're a coach you don't want to poise yeah he's pretty amazing he's a great competitor he did a great job throwing the ball and he knows how to run it a little bit too so really proud of how he prepared for the game how he how he
