and of the son and of the Holy Spirit am amen the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all and with your spirit and may we exchange the traditional Easter greeting Christ is risen somebody say truly he is risen truly he has Ren as we greet our Lord today we come on the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord let us call upon Christ to open our hearts to respond to the grace of his Ascension Lord Jesus you come to gather the Nations into the Peace of God's kingdom Lord have mercy Lord have mercy Lord Jesus you come in word and sacrament to strengthen us and Holiness Christ have mercy Christ have mercy Lord Jesus you will come in glory with salvation for your people Lord have mercy Lord have mercy May almighty God have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life amen amen glory to God in the highest and on Earth peace to people of Good Will We Praise You we bless you we adore you we glorify you we give you thanks for your great glory Lord God Heavenly King oh God Almighty father Lord Jesus Christ only begotten son Lord God Lamb of God Son of the father you take away the sins of the world have the Holy Spirit God forever and ever amen amen a reading from The Acts of the Apostles in the first book Theophilus I dealt with all that Jesus did and taught until the day he was taken up after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen he presented himself alive to them by many proofs after he had suffered appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God while meeting with them he enjoined them not to to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the father about which you have heard me speak for John baptized with water but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit when they had gathered together they asked him Lord are you at this time going to restore the Kingdom of Israel he answered them it is not for you to know the times or the seasons that the father has established by his own authority but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my Witnesses in Jerusalem throughout Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the the earth when he had said this as they were looking on he was lifted up and a cloud took him from their sight while they were looking intently at the sky as he was going suddenly two men dressed in white garment Stood Beside them they said men of Galilee why are you standing there looking at the sky this Jesus who has been taken up hand in the heavens far above every principality Authority power and dominion and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come and he put all things beneath his feet and holy Gospel According to Mark glory to you oh Lord Jesus said to his disciples go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to Every Creature whoever believes and is baptized will be saved whoever does not believe will be condemned these signs will accompany those who believe in my name they will drive out demons they will speak new languages they will pick up serpents with their hands and if they drink any deadly thing it will not harm them they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover so then the Lord Jesus after he spoke to them was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God but they went forth and preached everywhere while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs the gospel of the Lord praise to you Lord Jesus Christ Christ is risen somebody say truly he is risen truly he is risen that's what gives us Easter Joy I've seen people in on their hospital beds maybe even in the I see you filled with a joy that is stronger than their pain filled with a joy that's stronger than suffering I've seen people in terrible situ life situations who are able to go into the mystery of Easter and find Joy why because to the joyful event of the Ascension and Mark these as times of light because Christ is using you and is using me to spread Joy love and the power of the Resurrection to the whole world with holy boldness we profess our faith I believe in one God the Father Almighty maker of heaven and Earth of all things visible and invisible I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God born of the father before all ages God from God light from light true God from true God begotten not made consubstantial with the father through him all things were made for us men and for our Salvation he came down from heaven and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the virgin Mary and became man for our sake he was crucified under pontious pilot he suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end I believe in the Holy Spirit the Lord The Giver of Life who proceeds from the father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who has spoken through the prophets I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic church I confess one baptism for the Forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come Amen on the day when Jesus Christ Our Lord ascended into heaven we make our prayers to God our Father trusting that he will answer them out of love for his son for the church whose Lord is in heaven may all her members know that he is also present with her here on Earth to the end of time we pray to the Lord Lord here our pray for the world in which we live may all Christians by their enduring body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving you thanks he gave the Chalice to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the Chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal Covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the Forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith we Proclaim your death O Lord and profess your Resurrection until you come again therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and Resurrection we offer you Lord the bread of life and the Chalice of Salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit remember Lord your church spread throughout the world and Grant her bring her to the fullness of Charity together with Francis our Pope with Michael our Bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God with blessed Joseph her spouse with the Blessed Apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may Merit to be coars to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son Jesus Christ through him and with him and in him oh God Almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and from Evil Deliver Us Lord we pray from every evil graciously Grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the Blessed hope and the coming of Our Savior Jesus Christ the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever Lord Jesus Christ you said to your Apostles peace I leave you my peace I give you look not on our sins but on the faith of your church graciously Grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and Reign forever and ever amen the Peace of the Lord be with you always and with from that moment I found out I was pregnant without the Knights of Columbus donating these ultrasounds to the woman's Care Center I don't think I would have ever have kept my son I wanted to either put him up for adoption or I was either going to have an abortion I was still in high school I was so scared I was so nervous but when I saw him my baby on the ultrasound and I heard His Heartbeat I remember just falling in love with it was a TI little peanut that's when I'm like I I want to keep him this is my child so I'm very grateful for getting that opportunity to have and see my son and
