every steam deck it doesn't matter if you buy the most expensive one or the cheapest one comes with this carrying case and even though this is technically free I don't really like it that much it's too big it's too bulky too rigid takes up too much space in my backpack and you can't put in anything but the steam deck in here except for maybe this thing though I am kind of afraid that if I shake it too much whatever is in there will fall out so this case I don't really like it that much so uh I nearly hit my doctor what I like however is this thing the g-sox mod case and this thing the dbrand kill switch both are protective clamshell covers both protect the steam deck more or less the same way both have technically though more about that in a second an ecosystem of accessories and both kind of look similar I mean you might not have guessed which one is which if I didn't tell you before so let me also tell you which one is better and which one I prefer but I will only tell you if you like this video in the next five seconds five four three two one zero done thank you very much it helps a lot let's start with protection both cases protect your steam deck the same way you slide your deck into the respective back cover and wrap it around the device it also adds some texture to the grips though I personally never felt like I needed this with the steam deck both also protect the joysticks thanks to their respective Inlet though both went for a different design though the g-sox one also uses a kind of transparent back cover though I don't really care about that because I look at the front of the steam deck because that's where the screen is like one additional minute design difference is how both cases protect the index buttons as you can see here the dbrand one doesn't use the rubber like back covers to protect the buttons but instead only protects them when you put on the front cover the g-sox one however uses the rubber lag material to cover the buttons and protect them this way but it doesn't cover them when the lid is closed I don't really get why as I don't plan to turn on device when the screen is covered I don't really mind any of these Solutions because in the end when I throw the steam deck into my backpack they protect the buttons and especially the joysticks either way jump also it seems only the mod case works with dogs include the official one out of the box the cable won't fit with the kill switch but fits with The Malt case however the g-sox one also comes with a little adapter for the official one to make it easier to reach there's one additional difference that I don't believe is a desired choice however compared to the project kill switch the mod case feels a little bit more flimsy I don't think it would protect the deck last but it just has a bit more play compared to the quilt switch also I wish this would rep better around the triggers as for the expandability things look different if you get the mod case you'll get a whole ecosystem of accessories you can attach to the back of your steam deck you'll get this USBC adapter this nvme SSD enclosure this cooling fan this power bank that I don't own so just imagine it would be lying there and you'll get this Lube attachment that you can use to either attach an external SSD like the Samsung T5 or your airport case or snacking bar for when you're hungry now as for project kill switch they announced they would be bringing Out Accessories but as of right now they are none and when I ask them when they are coming out they said not yet and you should never buy a product for promised future features however I have trust in dbrand that they will do something the question is not if it's when now as for prices the mod case from g-sox is just much cheaper for 30 bucks you get the basic kit with this back cover this front cover lid thing this little kickstand and this Loop and you can find the price for every accessory I showed before in the link down below as for project kill switch you have to pay 75 bucks to get this back cover this front cover this little kickstand these protection rings and a skin of your choice and that's the bigger package because if you want to spend less you don't even get this from cover so while this thing is free I just had to pick it up from the floor the other two cases just have much more to offer but the question is which one I do recommend going by Price alone and the current availability of accessories I would just say the g-sox mod case it's less than half of what you have to pay for the brands project kill switch and you know what accessories you can get as for the kill switch we just have to wait though frankly it's slightly prettier than this one which case if any are you using with your steam deck comment down below and tell us which of the two options you prefer project kill switch by g-brand or the mod Case by g-sox thanks for watching and don't forget to hit like And subscribe for
