I saw a similar movie a couple of years ago and afterwards it was really shocking to see how prevalent sugar was. I think everyone knows that excessive sugar is bad, however very few have actually noticed just HOW MUCH sugar is added EVERYWHERE: it's not just sweets, cola and other obvious things, but also bread, pasta, "healthy" cereal, coffee drinks, yoghurt and so on.

Unfortunately, it's not easy to cut down sugar, as sugar-less products are very rare, usually cost more and take more time to prepare. I have cut down my sugar intake (but probably still not enough) and the funny thing is that nowadays I get much more pleasure from one bar of chocolate than before when I consumed much more sugar.

This is "Supersize Me" with less spectacle and more substance.

We have been led to believe that fat is the public enemy. Turns out it's not. Sugar is the poison.

I stopped eating sugar about 60days ago, at day 30 I had lost 11kg, I basically changed my diet to organic vegetables, sour dough bread and lean protein, 6'4" male was 106kg now 95kg only exercised twice during that 30days, I have never felt better in my life, I'm rarely tired my mood is very very rarely bad and my head is clear... I ate a snickers bar day 40 and couldn't finish it because I got a headache.... It may not work for some but I found cutting out most sugar in my life has been one of the best things I have ever done...id highly recommend trying high fat over high sugar..... I visited America last year...the things the majority of you guys eat is crazy! I loved America but damn some of the food portions and "food".... Woah

Upon further research, it's also important to know that Dr. John Sievenpiper has received over $265,000 from Coca Cola, to fund some of his research, through an "unrestricted grant".

There are a couple of definitions to this unrestricted grant. One definition states that this is essentially money that the user can use however they please (in fact, he spent $50,000 of this money to build some sort of child-education facility?). Another definition states that this type of grant is used to further propagate the message of an organization, rather than a specific purpose. Take this however you will, but it's a bit disheartening knowing that this professor, who works in the same institution that I attend, may not be 100% honest in his intentions. Here's a free article talking about funding via unrestricted grants. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC183294/

Please note that I'm not trying to discredit what he is saying or him as a person, a physician and a Scientist just stating facts, and implying that ulterior motives may have a factor in what is and what isn't published (in terms of research articles).

"Salt, Sugar, Fat" by Michael Moss is an amazing book on the subject and I highly recommend it

Ever wondered how fast food restaurants (for instance Miccy d) create that perfect crisp french fry? Oh they already figured it out you say? Uhm no that's not how it works. It's a thin coating of sugar Or more specific a kind of sugar with beef flavoring and lots of salt hiding the sweetness.

At 0:35 you can see the fries exiting here what is called the pre-wash stage (that's where all the dextrose, maltodextrin, baking powder is at )
So there's that part they are trying to hide away.

Edit: Well a downvote already? Someone really doesn't want to let this knowledge known, let's try and change/hide the obvious name a little.

In America first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women.
