I know it's an unpopular opinion on this sub, but I don't think Scots is a language. It seems to me like just a phoentical writing of the Scottish accent with some regional words. It's interesting that even most Scots speakers don't consider it a language.
I'd been wondering for some time where Paul was from to have such a wide ranging consciousness of languages, and whether English was his native language. So now we know. :)
