Far and away the best Stones song. Not even my favorite Stones song, but it's definitely their best one.
Something about this song makes it fantastic for movies. It just sets the mood so well
rock band version of the song, which boosts the otherwise near-inaudible bass track
the bass line is fucking BEAUTIFUL.
My friend told me that the female back up for this song was pregnant at the time of the studio recording and the day after they finished a long session of strenuous recording she miscarried. Just wondering if anyone knew if this was true/if that woman literally gave a life for this song. It's truly one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Saw them in 1981....what an amazing show.
I saw this live in Hyde Park in 2013. With Lisa Fischer on vocals, it really was something else. Whenever I hear the live recordings of it from Hyde Park, it sends shivers down my spine.
