[Music] welcome to another gnome home tip my name is Steve and today we're just going to be walking through doing a simple furnace filter replacement and although it might seem pretty simple there are a couple things that we need to know most furnaces or HVAC systems will have a door to access your furnace filter this one is located right here sometimes they're on the sides with a slide up or a slide down uh okay sometimes finding them can be tricky all we want to do is match up the size and then the other thing we need to think about is the airflow so have my old one here a little dirty well a little dirty so the main thing on furnace filters is you not you want to be able to not see through them okay now we can't see visually see through this at all and the other thing is the airflow usually there's a marker or indicator on the furnace filter about which way it should be placed with the airflow now on this HVAC system it's pulling air into here and the airflow is coming up and then going out to the house so we're going to make sure we're putting that indicator where it's supposed to be I'm just sliding them back in should have some tracks in there and it shouldn't be forced once it Finds Its space it should slide right in there it is should just slide right in shouldn't be a hard thing at all close it up lock it lock it up should be good to go ideally you're doing this every three months if you don't have an AC unit connected or you're not running the fan on your HVAC system uh maybe don't have to do it as much over the summer time but I like to run my fan and we there is an AC unit connected to this system so you should be changing it out every three months thanks so much and I hope this was helpful
