The Raider defense can be special if Bennett and Wilson make that big jump

yeah hey feels right feels right [Music] man the Autumn Wind is a pirate blustering in from sea with a rolicking song He sweeps along swaggering boisterously his face is weather beaten he wears a hooded sash with a silver hat about his head and a bristling black mustache he growls as he storms the country a villain big and Bold and the trees all Shake and quiver and quake as he robs them of their gold the Autumn Wind is a raider pillaging just for fun he'll knock you round and upside down and laugh when he's conquered and won after being number one in the NFL over the second half of last season the Las Vegas Raiders look like they're going to have a great defense this year interior defense alignment Christian Wilkins is going to make them that much better Adam Butler will be inside with them raising all kinds of Hell of course we already know what star Ed rusher Max cby is going to do what the help he now has Malcolm showed that he can chip in with some sacks last year middle linebacker Robert Spain and his partner Divine Diablo will control the second level of the defense and the Raiders have a solid safety T end up in mark seps and Trayvon Mary Isaiah Palau is coming too he's going to figure into things somewhere then at corner they have Jack Jones who looks like he's on his way to start him and Slot Corner Nate Hobs is the best at his position that's a solid defense right there the defense can actually be special if a couple of rookies from last year make that big jump to year two they say you make your biggest jump from year one to year two if they do and they both have the talent to the Raiders can have the number one defense for the whole year this year let's start with Corner joron Bennett in the bad sometimes he got his cover just Twisted then there were times he got caught sleeping in the Red [Music] Zone he got burnt deep couple of times too [Music] here he thinks he's running across the field with his man until his man decides to take it up the [Music] field and here he gives up a big chunk on a short Crossing route all right on to the good benett can tackle he aggressively comes downhill and attacks the ball carrier he'll get off his block to make a play too he's 511 195 lb but he's not afraid to stick his head in [Music] there he comes up in the right position with the right leverage to make the tackle too here he's going to come up and get in the perfect position again and he did show us some flashes and coverage they're going to try him deep on this one Bennett has great speed though herei is impressed and unlike most young Corners he's not afraid to look back for the ball like on this fade here but but he can also get it done with his back to the quarterback he shows great makeup speed on this one too he's going to show great makeup speed on this one too after he gets beat with the double move here he's going to serve up a denial from Offman all the Raiders need is for him to be a little more consistent Tyreek Wilson's other guy they need to make that jump and here's the bad right here to be a great defensive lineman especially in ad rusher you got to be able to get off the ball but as you see here Wilson's the last one off the ball he wasn't really ready to play at after his injury so his reaction time wasn't there all right let's look at another one he's the last one off the ball again look how far up field Max Crosby is and he's still in his stand that's what happens when you have no explosion and no reaction [Music] time all right let's look at one more look at everybody else and look at him still in his STS if you can't get off on the ball you can't really do much as a defensive alignment that's why they shouldn't have rushed him back as fast as they did [Music] but one thing he can do from the beginning at 66 275 lbs with 36 and 1/2 in long arms is play The Run you can't run at him he's just going to hold his man out with those long [Music] arms look at this he's going to hold his man out and then toss him to the side when the ball carryer gets there on this one it's hard to hold the man out with arms that [Music] long you can also close it down from the [Music] backside oh and he has his speed to get down the line and make a play too [Music] and as the season went along his reaction time got better he's off the ball with everyone else on this one it's a night and day difference between that and the beginning of the Season he actually starts putting some pressure on the [Music] quarterback all right here's another one look at that he actually got upfield a couple of steps the game is different when you can get to the opp side shoulder of the tackle that sets him up for the long arm going inside [Music] here all right let's look at one more get off here look at that he's the first one off the ball and Crosby's in the game that right there is going to set him up to get to the tackle outside shoulder and ultimately get him a pressure he can get off the ball when he's right [Music] rashan Slater's going to have problems with Wilson his arms are too short now watch [Music] this on this one his pressure sets up an [Music] interception all right Crosby's going to get the sack as usual but watch how Wilson's long arm sets it up the quarterback knew the left tackle couldn't sustain that block once he gets that inside arm on him that's [Music] it there's no way Tevin Jenkins with his short arms can handle [Music] Wilson all right he's just outside the right of your screen he's going to use his long arms again and show he can run too [Music] in today's Passing League it's all about the rushan coverage if you're equipped to do that your defense will do well the Raiders got better in both of those areas when Pierce took over and brought Jones in now all they need is Bennett and Wilson to make that big jump to year or two and there's no reason why they won't Ben in flashed from the very beginning but he was too inconsistent and put some bad tape out there then right when he got better and started to steady up a little he got injured and Wilson he just got rushed back from an injury before he was ready to play play he started to show us a
