My mom won a sports car on an old gameshow in the 80s (Crosswits) and decided to get cash instead of the car. Unfortunately (edit: in retrospect) she bought our family's first minivan with the cash, which was a piece of crap and broke down all the time. Still, was better than taking the car and having to pay tax, and then not having a car everyone could ride in.
And the guy will always be driving "his wife's car"
