[Music] welcome to the Pokey needle I'm Hannah and this is where we talk about crossstitch this is my very first floss tube and I thought I would start with a whip parade I have supplies all around me um I will be digging through them and hopefully I'll figure out how to splice all of this together so that it won't be too awkward the first floss tubes kind of like flipping that first Pancake right um so let's see first of all I wanted to say thank you for being here thank you for giving me a chance um I know there are dozens and dozens of floss tubes out there and so many magnificent um people just this community is amazing hey friends editing Hannah here so I realized after I edited my piece together and I have never filmed or edited or anything before so I took some Liberties and had some fun so if you guys hate it tell me because I can totally take some of the silly out anyway um I realized that a couple things one I was looking down a lot I had my um laptop sitting in front of me so I can see because I can't gauge I don't I don't have my screen in front of me so I can't gauge what I'm seeing and so I kept looking at that to make sure I was in frame and I realized that when I did that it messed me up worse because there was a lag like 3 seconds or something and so every time I'd glance down I'd think oh I'm out of frame but then that put me on a frame and so I'll get better at that um so I wanted to apologize for some of that silliness um I think we I'll go through that a little bit trying to figure out how to show our work um I don't know if I loved everything being on boards either I think for the larger pieces but I think I'm going to change that up next time I'll just play around and figure out you know get my groove um the other thing was I did not like my about me um information it was just kind of all over the place so I cut that so I'll share more about me in the next video um I guess I could share a little bit now and just say hey I'm a I'm a home body from Kansas and I love CrossFit so um and then the other thing was I feel like I didn't share enough information about my pieces I kind of some of the things I was like okay here's the details I need to remember and once I got through that I kind of just shuffled onto the next project and didn't talk enough about it and so I'll take my own notes on that one and do better I will try not to rush anymore and realize that you know every time I talk to I feel like every time I talk to somebody about crossstitch they're not cross stitchers and so I keep it to a minimum and I just need to remember that you guys are my people and this is what you're here for and you want to hear about the projects so um with that being said let's get on with it so in 2022 I started cross stitching and I'm sure I'll weave in more of the story here and there but um long story short Nicole sport thanks Nicole um started her first sale and you know I have been watching her and not watching the crosstitch videos so much and then I was like well that project looks cute um after I had sworn off crosstitch said I will never ever crossstitch right so here we are addicted believe to crosstitch all the crosstitch every day and so in September of 2022 I went ahead and purched purchased some Primrose Cottage so I purchased a couple charts from Primrose Cottage and some floss and stitched it all up in a day and two days later was putting in another order for more charts couldn't help myself I had a neck injury and I was stuck in bed and so I was desperately trying to find something besides reading that I could do while I'm laying down and that was a big contributor to me getting started I don't want to get into my ailments too much but I'm pretty much a home body not by choice um I don't know if or when I will ever venture out to Retreats I hope I can at some point um but I I have a few things going on and I'm not going to get into that in this video so um let's get started if I haven't said it already thank you for being here and thank you so much for all of you who are already floss tubers and have paved the way because this community rocks I have piles of flosses and piles of projects and I apologize I did not iron I put stuff on boards and I thought oh I should have you know take it back off and iron it and that didn't happen and I kicked my family out to go out to dinner so I could do this so I apologize about the ironing and I try to do that next time so the first project I'm going to share with you today is God resty Mary gentlemen I purchased this chart at the Jingle Ball 2022 and I started stitching it November 26 2023 and of course I'm being silly this is my stopping point it says go rest I'm stitching it with called for color ranges I probably picked from stash um but I was trying to finish it close to how she had it charted so I'm stitching this two over two on 25 count lugana so it is a fairly large Stitch this is the full width of it um and I probably won't pick this back up again until at least July but probably not until fall um I adore this chart I adore Stephanie the next chart I have to share with you is Freya from carollyn Manning um I started this on May 10th 2023 for the Manning May of course um I think it was bridg you know the museum Stitcher who introduced me to this but I know that tons and tons of people stitched Manning May so Carolyn Manning has amazing designs this is stitched on whisper two over two with my own colorway here let me show you the flosses so I picked just um sort of a bright earthy palette I picked a bright earthy palette for this um blues and oranges and I think it'll turn out well so I am revising some of it um I cannot figure this camera out I'm sorry um so this spot right here I I didn't like the way it was turning out and so that's when I had stopped I had thought that I could um I I don't know which way I'm going when I had stopped I thought that I need to change this because I'm not loving it this um but I am loving how this piece is coming together and that is my second whip oh yeah I also I plan to finish Freya in this coming night okay this next project um I kind of have just a little small start on it I started it in September for Baptist school and you know Lauren the New Hampshire Stitcher started the Baptist school thank you Lauren it's fun I started three Pro I think it was three projects for Baptist school and then that month turned out to be my least stitchy time I've ever had since I started stitching so um I didn't get much progress done but without further Ado I didn't grab the book um oh home for the holidays I'm stitching Christmas Garden which many of you have stitched many of you are familiar with I did not bookmark it I apologize okay here's Christmas garden and I am stitching it I cannot figure this camera out um I am stitching this with the called for flosses which I think are so beautiful so I just went with it um so I'm stitching it with the called for flosses and I'm stitching this 1 over two on 36 count and PE white linen and I think it'll just be a classic piece that I can hang in my house I don't think I'm going to stitch it to say Christmas Garden um I don't know what it'll say but it will be christmy and I adore this I adore the colors I just I love stitching it can't wait to get back to it although it'll probably be a few months okay so this next project it was a 12 X1 12 star so just a little bit of reference in 20 202 23 I did 12 x 12 on New Year's Eve and it was fun but knowing the way I like to stitch I decided this year to do the 12 Days of Christmas and so I picked one project to work on every day so this was part of that start um I'll show you the pattern is Snow Leopard and I apologize I just realized I wasn't telling you the designer names and maybe I have maybe it was just Christmas Garden that I didn't tell you that that was black bird designs um okay so snow leopard is by light unicorn designs on Etsy and this is for my niece I'm hoping it she's 11 and I'm hoping to get it done by her 13th birthday so this is kind of my first full coverage piece that's like bigger um so I'm stitching it with the called for and here's the piece um this is 32c Count Celeste or Celestine m and I'm stitching it one over two so this was my January start and this is the middle of the leopard's nose if you look at that you can see that's his little nose coming in there and I'm kind of enjoying it you probably can't tell how many colors are in there there's like at least a dozen colors so I don't I don't know if I love the confetti stitching of full coverage but we will see won't we it's technically my oldest whip um but I'm kind of counting it as a restart because I started this in like winter of 2022 and I had completely flubbed my stitches I don't know what I did but I was off by two and it ended up frogging the whole entire start so when I went back to it I decided that we count it as a new start for November 23 so I absolutely love this it is on 28c count Mystic linen and I'm stitching it two over two um and I am stitching it with a call for flosses and they are just beautiful Earth tones now I something about me I love the Little Drummer Boy so if you look at this pattern you'll see there's the Little Drummer Boy and it just stole my heart um so I probably won't pick this up again until Autumn but I am loving these colors I'm loving how it's stitching for being two over two um maybe because it's linen cuz most of my 28 count as lugana it it's just stitching like a dream so I am loving this oh my goodness there's floss on my arm okay uh pixel Masters this is fine I just started this this month a few days ago um this is a gift for my husband for his birthday and I'm not sure if pixel Master still has this available but I do know that there are several of these on Etsy um my husband loves that saying and so I thought it would be fun for his birthday which is at the end of March so I'll get it done by then and here's my small little start you can see the bubble here of where the the the words are going to go in the guy's hat I'm stitching this on 14 count Ada with the call for colors I don't prefer a anymore um I have a little bit in stash but here's the call for they're very bright colors um and I think that it'll be fine because it's going to be framed so this is this is fine by pixel Masters next up is cinnamon house by pansy patch I absolutely love these houses um they're adorable this is my very first one so I am stitching this on 36count white tea linen and I absolutely adore it I don't know if you can see any of the modeling it's really light but I absolutely love it um let's see I am stitching this I believe with the called for here are my glosses and there might be more than what I need because I was pulling them for a few of the houses so if it looks like it's extra that's why so here's all my beautiful flosses and here's my progress once again I started at the bottom I'm typically a bottom left Stitcher starter um I will start in the middle if I think that the pattern needs it but that's how I prefer to stitch the next project is fractor Birds 5 by Al stitching house I've had this in my projects for quite a while and finally decided it was time to start it so I started this for the 12 x 12 oh I forgot to mention cinnamon house um was also part of my 12 x 12 so I started this one using I think they're called for color and I might change some of them and I'll show you here's what I've got um and I'll I'm stitching this on African daisy which is a yellow creamy buttery yellow um by witchel and let's see it's 28 count I'm stitching it two over two and here is my start so you'll see that I just worked on the brown on the day that I stitched it and I know this is like I think it's over a thousand stitches um and it flew by so I don't think it's going to take me very many days to stitch so I'm excited to get some color in it next time I pick it up because as nice as it is to see the full size of the project I really want some color in there so again this is fractor Birds by out stitching house on Etsy okay the next whip is um Romeo and Juliet by soda Stitch and this project is my first soda Stitch thank you Amber um I know several people jumped on the bandwagon last summer with my first soda Stitch and this is the one that I chose to stitch um however I didn't get it started so I started this for my 12 x 12 and here's what I've got done so far it is on 32c count Sprite lugana Which is a very pale purple I I absolutely love it when I got it I thought what am I going to use this for but it's perfect for this so I am excited um to get this done I am stitching it's 32 count so I'm stitching two over two um I don't always to chew over to but I love you know this pattern I think it calls for the Fuller color so that is Romeo and Juliet so next up is another 12 x 12 um and it is the gates of Moria by needle minder lair on Etsy I am stitching this on 25 count black lucana and you won't be able to see it and maybe I can get some b roll at some point um once I'm a little further along but these are both this floss is a mix of two Specialties so we have this blue atall which is e 747 and I have e940 which is glowi in-the-dark and so it kind of um gives off a little bit of the blue hue but it actually glows and I think it's going to be spectacular when it's done so the next project is a 12 x 12 start and it is Star Trek pillow sampler it is from clouds Factory um it's not Etsy it's their own website um and I am stitching this for my dad he is a Trey all the way so I am stitching this on 36count Silver Moon and I started this for his birthday which was in December so I started it last year and when I started I was stitching one over two because that's what you stitch on 36 count right and whatever this fabric is which I believe it's zart um it's very loose so I decided to rip it out and start it two over two um and as you can see it's it's coming in very nice and full it's not bunched up at all so I am loving it um my goal is to put a couple thousand stitches in every month so that it's ready for his birthday this year um oh the colors so here are some of the colors that they they had I believe it was these colors this was the colorway and when I got them I thought this looked a little too purple and this is like really really bright and so I grabbed this Navy and so I may sub out something for this lighter color as well I just haven't done that yet um but I am loving how this Star Trek pillow let me show you the pattern one more time Star Trek pillow from Cloud's Factory so I know I'm not own in this Strawberry Fields Forever by Blackbird design I love this design I'm glad I finally started stitching it I picked it up for the 12 x 12 and um here's my start I did a bottom start and then got into the house I am stitching this on 32c count Morganite lugana 2 over two so it's a little bit tight but I think it'll look absolutely stunning when it's done and Morganite it's kind of showing a little bit washed out um it's it's a beautiful light pink um here's the flosses I tried to stick with the called for colors but I'm stitching from stash so some of them might be switched out but it should be close to the C for okay now we're getting into some bigin so my next whip is Rejoice ever more by Brenda D I love this I could not wait to get it I think it came out this fall Am I Wrong am I right I don't know that's when I saw it and I snagged it and I started it for my 12 x 12 um so I am stitching this on 40c count fiber on a whim cappuccino linen one over two and here's my start so I I started over here and this goes down here um but then I went across and decided to start with the berries and do some of the inside so what I'm going to do is do a couple berries do some of the inside I love the I don't I absolutely love this um the fill in it just it looks beautiful it's stunning so the thing I changed on these berries was they called did they call for I don't know what I did know um if they called for two no maybe I'm making that up I'll let you know next time maybe I didn't change it I did change the colors however um into my own color scheme I felt like the colors were a little bit muddy um and I do like the olive tone so I stuck with that um and so my next floss tube I will share some of the colors with you but I wanted to show you what I picked out um for this initially I had so I have this on two rings because I have all of these colors picked out and I don't know um I you know I picked some silks and then I picked a variety of colors um from stash and as I Stitch I I like to just have them available now my next floss tube I'm going to talk about how I store my flosses because I know where they all are and so I don't mind putting them in a project bag if I need them so I'm going to share that little trick with you guys next time um but these are the ones on the small ring are the ones that I've already used so that way when I'm pulling I'm not going back going oh no which green was it if there's two that are similar or whatever so um that helps and then once I get far enough in that I have my colors whatever's left I can just put back in my stash so once again this is rejoice ever more by Brenda Dy with that needle and thread and I am loving it guys I can't say this in my head I don't know why in my head it's like Shah it doesn't come out right and my husband looked at the word the name and he was like it's Shahar a and I'm like yeah that makes sense why my head can't figure that out I don't know so I will probably most likely refer to it a thous as a thousand one nights this is from Market 2023 I don't know if I've seen anybody stitching this and I don't know why because I love it it is gorgeous It Is by Twin Peak Primitives Jara A's dream I really excited so my plan is to not stitch the alphabet but find something to put in there um my husband is an aladdin junkie he that's like his favorite movie we had Aladdin stuff at our wedding it was just um so if you don't know a thousand one nights is the Arabian kns tale um and so this was I don't know if there's really anything Aladdin esque about this but you know it caught my heart so I am really excited and I'm going to show you first I I grabbed look called for DmC to stitch it with um and it's kind of a pastely bright pattern or color way um not something I would gravitate toward however this is stunning so this is 46 count marble bunny by xju I'm stitching one over two and um oh I started this this was another one I started for back to school and yeah I started with the flower and I I just so I've stitched it since then but I need to get back to it because this is a little baby start so once again this is see I can't say it my head um we're going to call this a thousand one Nights by Twin Peak Primitives guys I'm kind of a Zelda addict I'm I just I can't get enough I'm sorry if you know you know so I will be having several Zelda crossstitch projects one because I have two boys and they're like Mom we need to have some cool stuff in the house so there's that um I have a couple going right now and this is Wind Waker by avocado Stitchery and it's so if you don't know Zelda maybe if even if you do know Zelda this is the Wind Waker tapestry story that's in the game so some of this I was talking to my son and I was like I don't like that I don't want to stitch he's like but Mom it's part of the game so I think what I'm doing right now is I'm stitching um this picture and I think I'm going to stitch them all separately however my fabric is large enough if I change my mind that I can just stitch them as one as I go so I stitching this on 36 count even weave by fabric flare um one over two and I'm stitching one over two but it's really full because I'm stitching with sulky so here's my little baby start I started this on New Year's Eve and I'm I'm using sukki this is my first sukki and I absolutely love it it only calls for a few colors so this is what we've got I love the coverage of suky on 36 count um it's just a little bit thicker than DMC but it's it's like butter it's butter to stitch with you know so um that is the crazy Wind Waker by aoco avocado avocados to Tre so that I apologize guys if any of this is not showing up right because of my lighting I don't know what I'm doing yet and I will get it adjusted so if you see anything that you think I need to adjust kindly just let me know you know just hey your lighting sister your sounds that or this would be good or hey you went too fast here or do that right or whatever like fix this like let me know because I'm doing this to share with you I'm not sharing these projects for me I'm sharing them for you so please let me know if there's anything that you need me to change to make this better a few left a few more to go let's see so this next one again is not when I've seen people stitching um but I love it it really caught me attention so this was 2022 um Market oh let me grab the pattern 2022 Market let no net and snare me um it's a Sarah Newton Sarah Newton sampler and it's from 1897 uh schoolhouse so I am stitching this on 36count cappuccino linen sorry for [Music] reaching 36count cappuccino linen I think that's this way I don't know where I started this could be the side or the bottom or the top I don't know I think it's the side um I think it's this way it's all the same it probably doesn't matter um so this is I think this is the one that I have switched the colors let me show you my flosses real quick so these are the flosses that I picked initially um I have a huge variety here and it's because I wasn't sure how it was going to show up on the linen um right now I'm stitching with this which is uh peep pod it's an olivey green but I also have this Jade which is really bright and I probably won't be using this for for anything now um I also have sorry um be jeweled by classic Color Works which is a gorgeous like greenish it's teal it's basically teal and then this one is Americana by week sty works and it's a bright bright blue like not light blue like it's dark but it's bright and so I figured the bird is going to be done and let me show you again the bird will be done in one of those two colors so this one is it's a little more teal on here but I thought it depends how everything plays out and how it'll play against it so here it is once again the colors I picked out I am not good at this camera angle thing like serious seriously and here's the flosses so I think it'll be beautiful when it's done I'm excited to get to the center um the other thing is I wanted to show you like part of this and I don't know if this has anything to do with its popularity but the flower I mean I know I'm not a sampler Stitcher per like I'm a newbie Stitcher so I I don't know the etiquette I don't know what people are drawn to I don't I I don't know anything I do know that a lot of the Samplers that are reproductions are done according to what they look like and not what they originally look like so what I was going to say is some of these have very blocky flowers on them and I am going to probably alter the colors so they're not they might like I might keep the Stitch but change the colors so it's not so bright and variant like it is um but I do love love love this pattern and I'm excited to keep going on that okay I think I have just five left this seems like a lot for me to share but I only have 20 something projects so I know that it's not necessarily a lot it's just that if I have a small I like have to finish it it's just something in my head if I get to a certain point I just have to finish it so I'm trying to get more larger projects going um I don't know just so I I'm not finishing and finishing and finishing like all the time and I like the larger projects but also when you're working on larger projects and you're used to finishing you know it's like a catch 22 so um I'm trying to keep a good balance of smaller projects and larger projects and we will just see where I end up because as you've seen from my whips I have absolutely no Rhyme or Reason on what I Stitch it is everything it's everything next project is reging Skyward by modern folk embroidery this was the um 2023 Stitch along and I didn't hear about it for the first few months just because I'm a newbie so I started it on March 4th 2023 and was like yeah I got this and then quickly fell off the bandwagon um here's the project I am stitching this on 36count parchment linen let me see I need to back up um so this is as far as I have gotten but slow and steady right so I had a problem I was going full speed ahead and then um I had all all of this middle part done and I got over to the edge and I was off by one stitch something I did over here was off one stitch and because it centered I couldn't leave it and so I frogged it and then I was like putting it down put it down so this one went in timeout for quite a while so I have been picking it up and trying to put a couple thousand stitches in it every month so hopefully it will get done this year um I love this fabric I it's reading to me it's reading pretty true it's brown and green and I think this will be beautiful hanging up in my home um I really like neutrals so let's start with the colors so initially I had picked out a red and and a green and very christmy right so I decided to go with blues and Browns and and gray so what I started with was I got a ton of these um Saloon which is I don't I don't think it's available but I know there are similar colors out there um it is a a Cocoa Brown and a gray so this is color and cotton Saloon and so I have a bunch of those and then I decided as an accent color to use Chesapeake by week's die Works which is a teal color and then I thought for an extra little kick um if you see those I mean it's just a lighter version of that but it's DMC 926 and if you look like right here in the corner I put that DMC 926 you can see it here so I'm just weaving it in in little spots so I think when it you know when it comes out it'll be muted but not just solid gray you know with the Blues in there so this is reaching Skyward I have seen some beautiful finishes online um and it's kind of nudged me back into it so hopefully we'll start seeing some good progress on that one okay the next whip is um the Unicorn ping cushion by modern folk embroidery and I believe it was Caroline said hey let's pull out our old Jacob whips and I was like oh yeah I got a whole file of those so I decided this would be a fun one and I am going to replace the words um I think I'm going to put the word believe in there I think that would be cool but we will see so I am stitching this on 32c count Twilight linen and here's my little start um I just started this a couple days ago so I'm stitching it one over two and it's on 32 count but it seems to be tight enough and the type of project it is it's okay that it's um if there's a little bit of space there but I really love the look of it and I am stitching this with natural cotton by coloring cotton so it's just a little bit it's kind of an off-white and I am loving it okay my next whip is um master sword and Karina by Glitch Stitch Au this might be my oldest whip well no modern folk embroidery I started the day before so I started this last March and like I said we're Zelda Zelda fans so um this is the most beautiful 32c count gotth the linen I'm stitching it two over two and I I love this fabric it is absolutely gorgeous so if you see on the pattern um all the black is oh sorry it's reflecting um all the black that is on there is just going to be the fabric but I think that little pond with The Sword and the flowers it's going to it's going to be absolutely beautiful so I started at the bottom and I have it clip so it's not actually that close to the bottom but it is pretty close I think on this fabric it's going to take up the full length um but I've just been stitching this here and there I need to get back to it because this is one my kids have been asking hey Mom is going to be done um so yeah just it's a lot of fill in a lot of color blocking I don't mind it it being on a darker linen sometimes it is harder to stitch on and so I just need to be adamant about picking it up and getting it done oh I didn't show you here is the floss for it um it's just called for called for DmC okay I have three projects left um the next is The Gather in by Plum Street and this was another one I started for the bat last year I absolutely adore these um the other one I get want to get is cinnamon Hearts I don't have that or cinnamon Stars I don't have that yet I don't think in my stash I don't know but I haven't stitched it yet so here is The Gather in and I am stitching this on 36count off aato I started with the roof because I thought it would annoy me I don't know um it was a lot it was a lot by the time I was done I was like why did I choose this to do first but I'm stitching with called for floss I think I'm not I'm not sure what's going on with my floss like I have four colors here or something so I don't know where they are but I think I have everything and maybe it's in another project or something I don't know but again this is The Gather in and I stitched this last fall and I will probably not pick it up again until probably August okay so the next two the final two they're on the same fabric um because it was just perfect it it just seemed to work so let's go with this one the bear this is my first one stitching in the series I plan to do most of the series if not all of it um it's by codage Garden samplings it's anybody else confused that okay it's Cottage Garden samplings and the reason it's on this is I had another fabric picked out when this came in the mail it was just perfect this is 32 count Balor look at that look at that beautiful bear butt it's a little bear butt so I think I picked my own colors on this one um I think I picked my own colors on this one so that they would um I I don't have them did I share these earlier I'm a mess I don't know are these my colors no okay so I have I have no idea I don't know what I did with my flosses for this one I'll find them for next time sorry about that um I picked my own greens so that they would look better on this fabric but I absolutely love it okay if that wasn't a flub I don't know what is my last project that I want to share with you today is the Frosted pumpkin Stitchery Castle homecoming Club s and this is what it looks like if I can figure it out camera there we go this is what it looks like and this is the full thing I was doing so good until like I said September things just went wonky for me so I'm stitching this on the same 32c count Valor and here's where I'm at I'm not it's not too terribly bad um I am stitching this with the call for DmC the only thing I added was this PB 54 it's not really gold not really silver more of a platinum um treasure braid so I did add that in um on it's like on the Unicorn this horn um but I'm suching this called for I have been loving seeing all the variations and some of them made me jealous I can't lie um but I'm loving it I'm loving it and I'm looking forward to getting this one done this year as well so that is all my whips um okay and that is all I'm going to share with you today I have more whips I just started today I started the Dragon Year of the Dragon s with the Huga Stitcher and um Samantha that was a wonderful idea and I know a lot of you are joining in I wanted to get um oh what is it called the dragon you guys know what I'm talking about the the dragon something something Dragon um by long dog Samplers so it's available now but I went ahead and got um oh I don't remember I'll share it next time I need to chill yeah so I hope this was okay for you um I had to piece it together and part it together because I am tongue twisted left and right and I hope you enjoyed seeing the projects that I'm working on and I know that I will get more comfortable as I go along and figure out my camera angle because that is tripping up big time I'm going to film a floss tube in a few days and see if I can um get a little bit organized for that and show you what I'm currently working on and I also think it would be amazing to share a finished parade I have most of my projects I've given a few of them away but I have pictures and I thought it would be amazing to just go through that and show you from the beginning since I'm such a new Stitcher um all my finishes so I think that in the next few weeks that's what I'm going to be showing you but I thought I'd start with a floss tube um if you're still here thank you so much for joining me and I am so excited to be part of this community and if you've wondered about the poking needle it's because I am slow I I I just I show up eventually you know so anyway thank you for being here and I hope you all have a blessed day bye there's probably a little normal about me which you will certainly find out I think we're going to do this seriously though first floss tube it's like that first Pancake right yes no I'm start
