to a Under Pressure last couple of weeks he's bad isn't he is small and brittle and not very athletic has he ever thrown a deep ball to Tyreek Hill that wasn't under thrown he has fooled a lot of people I'm not sold on to him and I know the Miami Dolphins aren't sold on tour even though they want us to believe that really everybody starts breaking down Instagram videos the highlight video all these assessments come out of him Keys like if he's under throwing every kill now what it's gonna be like in the game I'm like stop hey I'm just curious like what do you think the expectations for two or should be despite having one of the best winning percentages in the NFL since he entered this league the media has tried to tear down this player every single chance that they get if he's so talented on the field then why does the slander continue to pile well the hate surrounding tuatanga vailoa is more complex than the average viewer would think in the 2019 season the Miami Dolphins threw a wretched football team out on the field in hopes of taking that season for a top draft pick the season was coined tank for Tua at that time Tua was one of the best prospects in all of college football he had just taken over for Alabama quarterback Jalen hurts in the national championship game and had thrown the perfect game-winning pass to Devonte Smith as a freshman then throughout the 2018 college football season to a showed off touch that would remind you of Drew Brees or Steve Young he rolls to his left drifting in the pocket like a lefty Patrick Mahomes and then throws beautiful spirals over linebackers across the middle right into the hands of his receivers touch and accuracy were his Specialties with athleticism and toughness just added in as the sprinkles on top but then came the injuries comes out throwing on the Run pressure from behind and that's what Nick Saban is thinking where's Mac Jones he's down and two is down his helmet came off this is exactly what you did not want to see happen this one was a very serious injury normally only seen with people in car accidents and it prematurely ended to a tongue of iloa's college career and thus began the injury plague and media torture have even been playing against this I think so but I think that Nick Saban should have stuck with his first instinct and taken two out of the game at the end of the half now fast forward to the 2020 NFL draft what was once declared the tank for two a draft was now dominated by a new quarterback Joe burrow was coming off quite possibly the greatest season a college quarterback has ever had was The Perennial lock for the number one pick in the draft now the Miami Dolphins they held the fifth pick and were in desperate need of their next franchise quarterback but the decision wasn't as clear as they hoped a kid with an absolute cannon from Oregon was on the board alongside Tua Justin Herbert he was seen by analysts as the safe pick his draft profile described him as big talented full field scanner able to find the right read and sling it around the yard from the pocket or on the move he was a projected second best player on the board then there was Tua he was seen as a risk teams were told that he was way too injury-prone but he lacked Mobility after his injury had no deep ball and couldn't withstand an NFL hit but his ceiling was higher than anyone in the draft and the chance of greatness was still evident faced with this Choice the Dolphins who are known for their hesitancy and always taking the safe pick in the draft decided to pounce and take a chance they selected the kid from a Hawaii fifth overall and the media began to tear them apart with the fifth pick in the 2020 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins select to a Tango you see the old school journalists they don't want teams that take risky picks they want the safe classic looking QBs like Justin Herbert the Dolphins knew there was a possibility of greatness now fast forward to NFL training camp and the odds are continuing to stack up up against tuatanga vailoa he had to play a full contact game in almost the entire season at this point and was just thrown into the first ever non-contact NFL training camp because of kova 19. the Dolphins had one of the worst rosters in the NFL lacking any sort of consistency at o-line wide receiver and the running back position to his rookie season was filled with ups and downs but what really stood out was the constant scrutiny he faced from both the media and the Dolphins organization two was coming off a major hip entry and he was still recovering when he took the field seemed to expect him to perform at Elite level right away every single move he made was overanalyzed and the narrative surrounding him was often negative remember he was a rookie affected by the covid-19 pandemic which made it even more challenging to develop any sort of chemistry with his teammates but perhaps one of the most controversial moments of tua's career was when the Dolphins benched him for Ryan Fitzpatrick during a game against the Broncos this move sent shockwaves throughout the NFL community and led to some intense debates about to his abilities while some argue that this was just a strategic decision to go and win a game others believed that it was a premature move to undermine to his confidence the constant flip-flopping between two and Fitzpatrick created uncertainty around his role and hurt his development to his early struggles were often caused by the lack of support and offensive weapons around him the Dolphins offensive line struggled to protect him leading to numerous sacks and hits two had a limited group of tight ends and wide receivers to work with in contrast some of his peers in the 2020 class had more favorable situations Tua was unfairly compared to players like Justin Herbert who had more experienced offensive lines an explosive receiving corpse with all due respect who his best weapon was Devonte Parker who isn't even really the number one guy in a poor Patriots offense right now however despite all of the negative narratives tuatanga vailoa showed tremendous growth and potential he finished his season with respectable numbers and continued to improve his accuracy and decision making were on display and he gradually began gaining the trust of his coaches and teammates that was Sephora's former head coach Brian Flores Flores constantly played mind games with Tua throughout his first two seasons in the NFL what former Pro Bowl quarterback DeSean Watson became available from the Houston Texans coach Flores was the number one Advocate to go after Deshawn a second year QB in the league having to deal with his head coach saying that they should already trade him that is a brutal mental game these rumors did not cease when the subject of them was accused of 22 sexual misconduct allegations it was also alleged that Flores had takovaloa tested for performance enhancing drugs as many as four times throughout that offseason due to the mass that the Young quarterback had been putting on throughout That season two was sent to injury reserve by Flores even while telling the people closest to him that he was healthy enough to play leading some to believe that Flores did this as some sort of retaliation for what he perceived as insubordination just in his first two seasons with the dolphins Tua had four different offensive coordinators five if you include Charlie fry who is calling plays in the early part of the 2021 season and this was because Flores was unable to maintain relationships with those who worked closest to him now two was play reflected the inconsistency around him but he still continued to show bright spots despite all the hate but this dip in play again sparked a media revolt against him along with Justin Herbert's excellent first two seasons nearly every National broadcaster began to pile onto Watonga by Lola but all of a sudden a miracle for him happened coach bride Flores was out as the head coach and in came Mike McDaniel an offensive genius who knows how to play to a guy's strength Mike immediately makes tons of moves to finally build round tour and backs him as his QB he brings in Tyree kill and all of a sudden life seems to be going in the right direction for the young QB yeah there was still a ton of media saying this move is gonna ruin Tyree kills career Two will never be able to hit that level of greatness to throw to a guy like Tyreke but in the first part of the 2022 season these two looked incredible Tyreek Hill and Jalen waddle thrived in McDaniel's offense and to his anticipation along with his accuracy made this unit look Unstoppable life seemed easy until week three against the bills two had played an incredible first quarter but went down was something that was originally listed as a back injury as he got up he stumbled and everyone seemed concerned that it was a concussion but at halftime who would triumphs back out of the tunnel and finishes the game strong against the bills the Dolphins were ecstatic after this win and Tool was praised for his toughness but the Dolphins were slated for another Thursday night game the next week they were in a tough matchup against the Bengals it was physical on what should have been a routine play tongue of ILO was slammed hard to the ground and suffered an apparent head injury to his hands instantly seized up in an absolutely brutal watch during prime time he was then placed on a backboard and carted off the field the world was shocked at what they had just witnessed and for any other player the media would come around him and support him during his time of need but for Tua the hate seemed to have doubled the takes one from a lack of arm strength to he may never play football again the Miami Dolphins put two on ir and went about their season with backup QBs that was until a month later when Tula returned against the Pittsburgh Steelers and set the league of flame once again his rhythm and his timing with his star-studded receiver core said the Dolphins at the top of the AFC East Tula had the highest qbr in the NFL at this time and honestly looked unbeatable the team won five games in a row on the back of two of his arm but then it happened again Christmas Day against the Green Bay Packers who is slung against the ground again and his play instantly takes a hit now this time he wasn't taken out of the game even though this would have been his third concussion they let him stay out there and he looked awful and rightfully so he had three concussions at this point and that takes a serious toll on a player's mind and decision making after the game he was tested and he was sidelined for the rest of the season media members ridiculed two and the Dolphins for mismanagement once again many believe that he should never play football again but Tua didn't let that stop him he lived in the gym this previous off-season putting on 10 pounds of muscle he got a full tattoo sleeve became a father and learned Jujitsu to help prevent his faults he locked in with his receivers and coaches and was dedicated to this comeback but of course the hate never ended Twitter users constantly claiming his arm strength was never going to be enough to throw to his Speedy receivers they said he'd never be able to lead this offense and that they'd be better off if they just picked Justin Herbert Ryan Clark even went on ESPN and said this was it doing he wasn't in the gym he wasn't with me he might have spent a lot of time in the tattoo parlor he was not at the dinner table eating with the nutritionist had advised he's built like girl work at Onyx in Atlanta right now on the bottom but this time was different Tua responded he clapped back at Ryan Clark saying like I come from a Samoan family like respect is everything but let's get to a point where a little easy on that buddy because I think we're pretty tough-minded people and uh if we need to get strappy we can get Scrappy too this was the first time we had ever seen an edge from tuatanga miloa he was playing with a chip on his shoulder to start this season he is playing with something to prove so in week one poetically against Justin Herbert and the Chargers tour went off 466 yards the highest passer rating in the NFL and the W brought all the hate the mistreatment the injuries all to it did was get better and is finally looking at the opportunity to shine this season so don't be surprised this year when the media switches up it makes two of their favorite
