[Music] real quick i need to announce a few things basically like what's going on with this channel and more specifically my second channel so in the past for the trade deadline i would usually just do a bunch of immediate reactions to a trade that happens like i have been in the past but i've really been doing that stuff over on my second channel so for the traded line which is tomorrow i'm going to be releasing probably multiple videos in that day uh covering different signing and not signing trades and all that stuff so if you want to see my reactions to individual trades like in a full like 10 minute video just looking at every element of it that's going to be happening over there and i'm going to be doing a winners and losers of the traded line video on this channel on friday and then hopefully on saturday or sunday i'm going to finally release a new deep dive i've been struggling to get the creativity for that but i think i've finally found it again so that's the plan so if you're not subscribed to my second channel already where i'm doing post game recaps and then trade reactions and as well as hot take videos that are no longer on this channel and over there then go subscribe to that channel because i'm more active over there than i am at this channel at this point so yeah go subscribe uh with that out of the way today's video is pretty self-explanatory i'm going over the player that i think is the most underrated on each nba team i might do most overrated each team but i don't want to be like too negative so we'll see how this video does but uh yeah that's about it so roll the intro absolutely incredibly before i get on to these underrated players about half of the people that watch these videos are not subscribed so if you fall into the 50 to the subscribe also drop a like on this video only takes one second and it makes a massive difference wow that intro was quick i'm going to try to do this as quickly as possible because i have to go over 30 names here and explain why i think they're underrated so just going to try and be efficient not going to be able to fully explain each detail about why i think a player is underrated or whatnot so starting at eastern conference with the philadelphia 76ers i have shake milton shake is a very solid score despite the fact that this year his three ball has not been dropping and that was really the big thing with him early was that he could shoot and that next to ben simmons is great this year he's shooting 30 from three but he's still scoring like 13 14 points per game off of the bench in about 24 minutes which is really good for a player that was previously expected to be really just a shooter he's doing this stuff off of the dribble he's good at cutting he has a nice floater that he can go to i'm pretty sure his mid-range numbers aren't too horrible so the fact that his threes are not dropping and he has still been scoring pretty well is pretty nice and shake milton is not a player that's talked about very much for the brooklyn nets i have jeff green i have been spreading jeff green propaganda on this channel for multiple years now i believe he is one of the most underrated role players in the league and i was pitching pretty much every team in the league to sign him when he was a free agent this offseason and suggesting that he'd be a great pickup for any contender and he has been amazing for the brooklyn nets this year so look at me i was right for the milwaukee bucks i have bobby portis in about 20 minutes per game he's averaging around 10 points and shooting 40 plus percent from three the best thing about bobby portis is that when playing alongside giannis he allows giannis to be a true big man and true center type player while he spaces the floor at an elite level unlike fraud brook lopez who only shoots kind of well for a center and then gets treated like he's some elite shooter just because he's decent at it for a seven footer for the heat i have max struss because i could not think of any player on this roster that is underrated and maybe gorham's roger could add but like max truss is a decent three-point shooter in some minutes for the heat he played for the bulls and basically got no minutes and now he looks like an nba player so that's cool for the atlanta hawks it is tony snell who last time i checked is leading the league in three-point percentage he is a very solid three and d player he's a relatively big wing who plays good defense and well he's not as good of a three-point shooter as his percentage has been this year he's certainly not someone you can leave open and for a relatively cheap three and d wing you can't do much better than him for the hornets pj washington i have been talking about how underrated pj washington is for years now uh not years now he's only been in the league for two years but you know what i'm saying uh he is shooting 40 from three this year very good defensive player smart player on both ends does not make too many mistakes and i think he has all-star potential for the knicks alec burks alec is a player that has been underrated for pretty much his entire career but this year once more he is on a team putting up buckets off of the bench and doing it in a respectable efficiency and not getting much credit for it so just wanted to point out alec burks for the celtics marcus smart um this is a weird place to put marcus or like it's weird to consider him underrated but apparently the the celtics are considering trading him for like nothing like aaron gordon and you're moving two first-round picks alongside him and then evan fournier as well that's a trade don't do that danny ainge that's kind of a spoiler for my nxd dive but in terms of impact it does not get much better than marcus smart and there are days where he is the best player on the celtics which is saying a lot because that's a talented ass team for the bulls thaddeus young or fatty daddy as some weird guy in my comments keeps trying to get me to call him uh thaddeus young has been insanely good for the bulls on both ends this year he's around five assists per game last time i checked but ever since becoming like a clear-cut rotation player like in the 30 plus minutes per game after not being there at the beginning he is like around six to seven and routinely having high assist games throwing some of the most impressive passes ever seen i don't know where this came from thaddeus young i always thought was an underrated passer but this year he has been a legitimately great playmaker and it's something the bulls have needed desperately and then he's been a small ball five for the bulls this year as well and he's been holding up against the bigger bigs in the league despite this and just fantastic defensively as well so shout out thaddeus young cannot say enough that he is in contention with jordan clarkson for six man of the year uh i i was dancing around that topic for a while but like for what a six man should be thaddeus young is right there at jordan clarkson for how that award is always awarded jordan clarkson is the sixth man of the year but i've expressed my issues with that award before in the past for the pacers justin holiday i ignorantly proposed in one of my trades that the pacers trade holiday for kevin knox uh when one of my videos on trades and that's because i didn't realize that justin holiday was really hitting his threes like that this year so very solid player for the pacers this year and one of the more consistent pieces as they've had players in and out of lineups and a lot of inconsistency across the board with that franchise for the raptors norman powell who they might be trading so would be awkward if they traded him before this video went out but uh he is averaging almost 20 points per game on 64 true shooting he's shooting like 44 from three on high volume so he is a very solid score he's not much of a creator but he's an incredibly good finisher as a guard like finishing plays not like finishing at the basket so like lethal three-point shooter decent mid-range shooter can attack a close-out decent cutter like this is just a fantastic player to have for the cleveland cavaliers i have darius garland who in his second year is averaging about 16 and six on a little bit below league average true shooting which is not ideal but really that just stems from him not being a guy who gets the line like at all but he's nearly 40 from three this year which was his biggest selling point coming into the draft so after a rough rookie year garland looks rather solid for the cavs this year for the wizards ish smith now ish has been bad this year for the wizards because with russell westbrook added to the roster the need for backup guard depth is really not there and even when he's playing he's playing alongside one of those two which is getting the ball out of his hands and ish is most valuable with the ball in his hands uh but he is still a fantastic playmaker for a bench player solid defensively and then he has a great mid-range pull-up that he can go to so uh ish smith is pretty damn solid unfortunately his fit with washington since the westbrook trade really ain't there for the orlando magic i have terence ross who could be a 40-plus percent three-point shooter if he cut like two to three of his three-point attempts per game out of the way but he's still like 37 38 on like eight attempts per game shoots a lot of threes like coming off of the screen fading off of the catch all those type of things some of them like i said needs to cut them out but for the most part very lethal shooter and then of course we know how good he is in transition as an athlete so yeah terence ross for the detroit pistons sadiq bay though i think he's genuinely getting more praise as time goes on i mean he did win a player of the week award as well as he averaged like 20 on like 70 something percent true shooting or i think he was even higher than that uh he is just a fantastic shooter as a relatively big forward early into his career and that's a player that has a lot of value and i think he's going to be either one of the best role players in the nba for a long time or maybe even break out higher than that because he is just like 20 something so you never know the sky is the limit maybe going over to the western conference now we have bogged on bogdanovic for the utah jazz he is an efficient 20 point per game scorer who does it in a way that doesn't really interrupt the flow of the offense like he's a very good catch and shoot shooter he does stuff off of the dribble but not to an amount that interrupts the flow of the offense like i said so he's just like a player that fits anywhere you put him he is a lethal floor spacer he can create his own offense uh what's not to like for the lakers as much as it pains me to say kyle kuzma is the most underrated player on the lakers i feel like people in general have come to terms with the fact that kyle kuzma is not a future star that talk has left at this point but this year he's been really solid as a role player when it looked like he was like sometimes not really a player that should even be on this roster but defensively he has taken a leap to the point where i would say he is a positive defender on most nights and then add on to it that his threes are dropping this year he's having games where he's been more aggressive in a way that's not obnoxious uh he's even had games where he's been a decent playmaker he had seven assists the other day like kyle kuzma has really rounded at his game he's actually become a decent shooter after being a pretend good shooter for a couple of years so kyle kuzma man somehow went from one of the most overrated players in the league to underrated in like a matter of two seasons but that shows just how public favor can shift so fast for the phoenix suns cam johnson is an incredible three-point shooter also has an amazing haircut uh and just solid player all around for the sons as well like he doesn't make too many mistakes and he just like great three puncher those are always valuable out of a big forward as well which is always valuable for the clippers i have zubak who i definitely don't look anything like so please stop saying that he is just a solid big and like he seems to get routinely disrespected by people and i'm just like he does the job on both ends and like statistically the clippers are always better with him in the game last year the clippers were statistically better with him over mantra's herald and yet in the playoffs they kept doing mantras hero lineups when it wasn't working for the denver nuggets jamichael green while he is no jeremy grant when they did sign to michael green i was like okay that is not the worst replacement in the world for what uh jeremy brings jamichael is a really good three-point shooter this year shooting around 42 on four-ish attempts good defensive player does not make mistakes does not gain anyone's way is a guy who on offense spots up on defense does his job and it's nice to have players who just do their job and don't cause problems for the portland trailblazers gary trent jr now i think he is gradually getting more and more attention but still gary trent jr is a guy who can average 20 plus points per game right now and the situation in portland has been iffy in terms of allowing him to do that but without cj he was averaging 20 points with him back i'm curious how he's going to adjust but he is that caliber of player right now a 40 plus percent three-point shooter on high volume able to create his shot off the dribble at times good at attacking off of the catch just like very very solid score gary trent and then one of the most confident basketball players that i've ever seen so i love gary trent jr for the san antonio spurs kelden johnson like i know spurs fans adore kelden as they should but like outside of the realm of spurs fans i don't think too many people are aware of just how good this kid is i don't know why i called him a kid when we're basically like the same age but kelden is a big guard slash forward who has just this perfect mindset for like how he plays he fearlessly attacks the basket he does all the little things he hustles he tries his hardest every second he is on the court and to see that out of such a young player who also plays the guard slash forward position with good size good athleticism and then as shown flashes of being a pretty good three-point shooter that's a guy who has a lot of upside right now he's averaging like 14 points without being an efficient shooter at the moment and he's doing that just basically off of sheer will and i think his the sky is kind of the limit with kelden uh and i think he's a future all-star for the dallas mavericks dorian finney smith just like michael green solid 3 and d player who does his job and does not get in the way and his three-point shooting has gotten better as time has gone on from not being good to like a respectable and reliable three-point shooter i haven't looked at his numbers in a while so it's gonna be ironic if he's shooting like 30 from three this year for the warriors i have juan toscano anderson another big guard slash forward who does not get in the way i'm kind of noticing a trend here that i have an appreciation for players who don't make too many mistakes a respectable three-point shooter he's shooting like 40 right now but it's on a low enough volume that i'm not gonna say he's a good three-point shooter but defensively he knows how to use his bigger body properly pause i guess uh and then just like doesn't make mistakes and that's always admirable and he's definitely like a solid nba player uh last year he was kind of like a fringe nba player but this year he has established himself as like yeah this is a rotation guy in the league for the memphis grizzlies tyus jones uh one of the players that gets more disrespected by nba twitter than anybody for like no reason he has one of the best assistant turnover ratios in the league in fact i'm pretty sure over the past couple of years he's had the best assisted turnover ratio i'm sure rudy who is a grizzlies fan would know this but he's also a good three-point shooter and despite the fact that he's small not horrible defensively so like definitely a very good backup point guard to have and routinely disrespected just because like advanced stats favor him so much and then people who hate advanced stats on twitter like kind of i'm like oh he averages like six points per game he can't be that good it's like it's not really how basketball works man for the oklahoma city thunder i will preach this till the day that i die al horford is supremely underrated he gets so much because he is old and he's overpaid and he was not good in philadelphia last year but al horford is still like 85 of what he was like three years ago when he was an all-star so very good defensive player offensively can space the floor and is an incredible play maker can create his own offense in the post from time to time good mid-range shooter like he's still really good and it gets no credit for it of course in okc his time playing has been very inconsistent i don't think okc is too committed to like using it as a rotation player because they don't want to win games right now uh but he is just so solid and uh i'm waiting for a contender to trade for him and i know his big ass contract is a huge deterrent to that but he is just good man cameron died again that's great for the new orleans pelicans i have josh hart who you really can't ask much more of out of a hustle rotation player because the guy is six five really six four when you look at him though he does have a long wingspan and he averages 10 rebounds per game per 36 as a guard slash small forward sometimes that's nuts like that is insane stat he's such a good rebounder for a guard and then add on to it that he's good defensively he makes hustle plays he's a good finisher his threes are rather inconsistent but at times he can be a good three-point shooter that's just a very good player to have and i i feel like the pelicans should view him as their at least short-term starting shooting guard and that just doesn't seem to be happening uh but yeah i'm i'm very high on josh hart for the sacramento kings rashaan holmes now he is another player that is starting to get more praise as time goes on but i was on the rashawn homes train back when he was in philadelphia and even more so on the train when he got traded to phoenix but defensively good shot blocker though he is under sizes of five so he has those weaknesses um and then he's not the best rebounder in the world but he's an incredible finisher very much a hustle guy loves the hustle stuff and then he has this one hand push shot like floater thing but like sometimes it's like too far for like that's not a floater but like he does it from like the free throw line half of the time and they just go in like so often uh and like that's just a it's a weird quirk with him but like it's such a big part of his game so uh he's very good for the houston rockets kevin porter jr now his three-point shooting has been rough since he has gone to the rockets but in eight games he's played is everything around 14 points and six assists his playmaking has taken a massive leap on this team thus far uh he's just a guy that i think has a whole lot of upside and the rockets getting him for like a second round pick is insane so uh look out for kevin porter because once he establishes himself i think he's going to be very very good and then finally for the minnesota timberwolves i have jalen noel who in the absence of malik beasley has stepped up and just been a fantastic player for them offensively uh he's a good three-point shooter he has a good mid-range pull-up that he goes to off of the catch quite often he's just like been efficient almost every game he plays and like he has the poise and composure of an nba vet despite the fact that he has barely played in the league so another talented guard with really good shooting potential that the timberwolves have and yet they still are going to remain not that good despite the fact that they have plenty of talent uh part of that is injuries i'm fully aware that but still it's it's annoying with minnesota uh but yeah those are my most underrated players on each team again go subscribe to that second channel if you want to see my reactions to trades when they happen that video that channel is going to be spammed with videos so yeah go subscribe over there
