Lindsay Tristan bug fans John not so much the stage of Our Lives it's important to us to stay here as long as we can and enjoy this beautiful time pretty nice nothing's gonna come out from under this rock and crawl on your legs lifestyle [Music] so this is the Tennessee River we're at the dam up above the dam on the top side up there is Fort Loudoun Lake and then this becomes a river that then Downstream becomes Watts Marley and this is the view that Jerry has from up in the top of this River yeah he's looking way down from above into the upper side of this I'm Greg whitstock the Pond Guy this is my channel Greg Woodside the pong guy and I am out here in Knoxville Tennessee at an amazing property overlooking the Tennessee River and I was asking John Adams from Modern design aquascaping who I am vlogging with if we were going to stop by my friend Jerry's house this is my third time being here he said no we don't have that plan we've been there twice before I'm like I want to go see Jerry's because I want to show you one of the most amazing Aquascape ecosystem ponds I personally have ever seen that modern design aquascaping built just wait till you see what I'm looking at foreign [Music] [Applause] absolutely huge fish huge koi I don't think there's a thing out of place in this property and it's just never gets old doing my job visiting certified Aquascape contractors and seeing how their customers are living the Aquascape lifestyle look at how ornate this water feature is this was built 11 years ago 2011 it's 2022 and I'm filming this and I think at the time was probably John's biggest and look at the piece the resistance right down there is the Tennessee River and so I think when Jerry was building this house he said I want to bring the river closer to my property and I think John Adams a modern design aquascaping did just that foreign [Music] hey Jerry so here's what you said you got on oh look at that yes City View it's a City View magazine and the most beautiful country view that you could possibly get aquatic Oasis building a backyard Nirvana pretty nice huh it's an article about John really but they well they use our time Jerry's been one of our best yeah I don't call you a cheerleader but him and Jan have really always been there which is why when you said we gotta go see Jerry Lucy Jerry I thought the Pond Guy want to see all new water feature since last time he's like no I'm going to jail yes so thanks for at the last minute letting us stop by you are welcome anytime I enjoy so much damage and how has this water feature been for your lifestyle you've been here for 20 years retired and 11 years with a pond whether most of the Year we're out here on the porch yeah and we built the porch with that purpose we just didn't know at the time that we were going to build the size of pot started out with a small one and I had a little problem with it John and a few other fine people came out to look at it and he's the only one that had any good advice and he said well why don't you build a thicker Pond we can actually see the waterfalls and see the fish and all that and he said I'll build you the most beautiful Pond you ever saw and I think at the time this was definitely probably the biggest project you'd ever taken on it was and truthfully this job and combination of what a nice water feature it is but how much support that we got from you guys it just opened so many doors for us in our career and I feel like this is what got us noticed by people in aquascapes that came by and then showed that to you and that's when you got your hands on our book that we had and I just think this was like our gateway to all the big beautiful things that we've done privileged to be a part of now so you guys had a big part of that put your trust in US I mean it was huge yeah we're like I say the stage of Our Lives it's important to us to stay here as long as we can and enjoy this beautiful time so just absolutely enjoy it so does everybody who comes to see us [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] that's the John G Greg Woodstock phone takeover number 47. we're out here at Jerry and Jan's Pond I was talking with Jerry and Greg here a few minutes ago about how many doors have been opened in our careers because of this project and man it was the biggest footprint of a pond that we had been able to build in the backyard of this size and man the rocks are massive they're Stones I'm going to take you around the other side the view from here is second to none it was a challenging build because we actually had to I can even see from here but way down there at those houses is a cul-de-sac down there and we had to Stage materials and bring them all up the hill through the common grounds down here to build this and the yard had a negative slope away from the house so everything had to be built up and retained from the backside we had to naturalize this you can tell by Jerry's lawn he is a grass guy from up North he's used to the beautiful green soft grass so all of this was created with massive Boulders interaction Stone there's Jets underneath here for circulation we have a great video on this water feature that talks about the Negative Edge and what that's all about this Boulder's like 8 000 pounds of a boulder here and that stone under that blue Globe Spruce right there that Boulder I mean it's crusty nice out of the water but all the way to the bottom that thing is massive Rock same with this one all the way to the bottom just big beautiful specimen Stones there's a wetland filter up at the top that's the Workhorse of the filtration then obviously hit negative edges over here cross through there is built out of a big cedar tree then we have a 1500 gallon Reservoir down below there and all of you beautiful fish in here it's just been a great feature the feature is four feet deep one of my favorite features of all time let me walk you around the back just the interaction Rock right there to just sit there and be able to hang your feet over in the water one of my big things let me show you a little moment here because one of my biggest Eaves with an interaction stone is when there's air gaps under it in Tennessee we have huge spiders and I'm not a fan I like my interaction stones to be partially submerged now underneath of this rock down here it's cantilevered out so you can hang your legs in and kick them back the fish can get under the rock a little bit and swim around but when you're here nothing's gonna come out from under this rock and crawl on your legs that's super important to me because I'm not a fan of bugs Lindsay Tristan bug fans John not so much let's go around and get a Look From The Bottom I'm getting ready to take that tree out that guy's gonna go that was a weeping cedar right there it was grafted and it died back and it came up from the rootstock that it had been grafted to and now there's a giant tree growing right in the view of the water feature I'm gonna make that go away but I always love this view this was the shot that made the cover a City View not too long ago I think I might put a picture of it on my new van absolutely gorgeous water feature perfect balance for a home in this size perfect backdrop awesome homeowners I know Greg always says he loves his job but seriously as a pond Builder to know how much joy these guys are getting out of this water feature how much it means to them and our job is important as Pond Builders because we literally change people's lives and if you guys as Pond Builders don't know that you should know that you're making a big difference in the world of all these people their family is out here getting pictures taken in front of this thing their kids are out here sitting around the grandkids are out here sitting around everyone enjoys and loves the space that you create so if you're a creator of water features make sure you do it with all your heart do it like you mean it do it like it matters because it is the centerpiece of someone's life when you leave bring the magic kids I love these guys in this place so much we've actually just hired a production company I mean a full-blown video production company to come out here they're gonna do two stages they're going to set up models they're going to create this lifestyle scene to capture the raw motion that actually is generated by a beautiful water feature in your backyard [Music] thank you [Music] how fun is that John I stinking amazing my favorite Pond my favorite people we get the best customers can I tell you we do we get the best customers it's unbelievable just the kindest people that love water features and how can you not love your job when you build water features and you always get to work for the
