The Making of The Rocky Horror Glee Show || Glee Special Features Season 2

[Music] we are doing our Rocky Horror episode this is the Christmas episode no it's the Halloween episode this is the Rocky Horror episode my dentist boyfriend gets involved and will get involved and Emma does the costumes and the children are singing and their transvestite and that's wonderful I'm directing the fifth episode of the season it's the Rocky Horror glee show episode favorite craft and request your hair but I have lots of dares you have to glue it down when I direct a musical part of the process is understanding what it is that they're singing about the dynamics of it what I think is the dramatic intention of what's happening because all that stuff actually alters the vocal performances one of the first things we talked about so we're gonna do Rocky Horror and you're gonna play a sweet transvestite part you know I said like we've never did this on full house so this would be a fresh look for me I didn't want to direct the episode of Glee that made parents turn off the TV and then like a day later they said oh you're doing you know whatever happened Saturday night hot patootie and you're singing it tomorrow let's get out of here a sweet transvestite it was originally written to Karl thank that and we all had a discussion and decided that it seemed inappropriate for John in drag Mercedes really wants to play a lead role in a play so she volunteers herself to do I like to play Franken furtive I mean I'd be all kind of crazy sexy in that outfit [Music] sweet transvestite amber pulling my face off she's incredible the crazy thing about having a girl play that part is that empowerment [Music] let's do like this Tina Turner type vibe to it cuz the kind of has like this rocking kind of music kind of background to it the music is so great and amber is so good and sweet transvestite I mean she makes me wish I was a transvestite besides that outfit being absolutely horrifying it was so tight but when I was in it I felt like a man in a dress he kind of made me feel like ferocious [Music] going up that elevator actually got stuck for 20 minutes the first time we tested it they're like okay everyone I test the elevators so you can see how high up you go I was just standing there and everybody was looking at each other and I said excuse me am I stuck they were like no no and they like whispering I was stuck up there I'm in a bathrobe and I have tanning stuff on because in the play that we're putting on at the school I'm playing rocky underneath this I'm kind of naked I had talked to him before but okay you're gonna be in this bikini so so be ready for it and he was totally open excited ready to roll court looks okay in his boxers I guess you know whatever it's good genetics that's what I call that it's good genetics pisses me off these are really short and I'm afraid I'm gonna show some nuttage comfortable they're tight snug stretchy really secure I will be showing some ABS Finn will be showing some abs and Sam will be showing some abs a Beulah it's just a Beulah one of the things that this episode actually deals with is the guys get body dysmorphia and the guys are always concerned about their weight and how they look as the most of the girls because we've seen the girls okay this is what I think if they're writing for everyone to show their ads in a show I think the writers then have to show their abs we're very fit writing staff I wouldn't you know she's if she wants to challenge bring it on jaylen come on come on AB off I'm in the number touch attach me and Jameis character Emma something comes over her [Music] Carl gets very upset about that messing with my woman I thought we had a deal he want the viewers to want Emma with Carl and that's what makes it interesting it's smart riding on their parts to make it a real life who should she really go with I actually thanked had to touch me for my audition song when I auditioned for glee because I I thought it was the perfect song for Emma [Music] I love touching because you get to see Jayma dirty we were trying to make this song more innocent but there were lots of very specific notes on trying to make it brighter like maybe a little higher just thinking innocently in your mind as you're seeing the songs like very doe-eyed this song's dirty I don't I didn't know that and then we do time walk which is a fun word this is the person I'm dancing on the show in time 1 Zacks great he's he's very fast our newbie core is doing great he knows exactly what you want so it's ours rehearsal and getting it down and then I'm kind of trying to follow everybody else they are they've all been through the choreography stage before so I'm kind of picking it up and I'm surprisingly picking it up quick as I thought I would I think any man that is in gold that's already tough so he's got a lot against him Corie Corie incredible he changed the choreography to for Britney yeah you notice her kickball changes yes the news I had are doing the max yeah yeah I just you know I really felt like that was a better kind of representation expression of her character let's just say we came in at 7 a.m. and we didn't get to time warp until what time was that 9 9 p.m. I've got to keep control [Music] baby huh
