peace [Music] welcome everyone to the losi 1969 camaro a 10th scale four-wheel drive rc car on sale right now for 260 and let's not mess around it's beautiful just look at it i don't care who you are black wheels on muscle cars are almost always fantastic but if your favorite band is ac dc they have one with chrome wheels and racing straps or if you prefer to end all of your text messages with n4 instead of okay they also have one available with a 1972 c10 body either way the only people buying these losses are doing it for one reason and one reason only the way it looks and what's not to love the three-piece body the lights the front air dam it's all represented wonderfully intense scale but as i've been explaining to girls since junior high looks aren't everything right i want to know what the low seat is like to drive is it as exciting to rip around the parking lot as it is to look at what is it like to wrench on and maintain let's find out well the lossy is brushed so it certainly won't be breaking any speed records but it's certainly fast enough to be exciting it has plenty of power to perform heroic power slides and more donuts than homer simpson's fantasies it's durable too some light shenanigans didn't phase it not even a little bit but you'd expect that though since everything on it is made of plastic so there's nothing to bend no turn buckles to adjust no drive shafts to bend the steering is direct and precise and the handling is overall let's call it predictable throw some drifty boy wheels on it and it gets even better [Music] i was able to drift this thing around with no issues the back steps out and you just will your way through the corners i've driven four wheel drive drift cars that aren't half as good as this it's just so effortless and on a 2s lipo it has the endurance to keep going longer than a dave matthews banned drum solo so that's it go get one right well no it's when you're not driving the low sea that you start to notice its shortcomings the body yes it looks fantastic but then there's these little things that jump out at you like this sticker on the back that isn't centered this fog light that keeps falling out and the paint on the front cowl that i'm convinced isn't the same color as the rest of the car or the fact that the battery which is the battery they advertise on the box doesn't fit in the battery compartment it's as if lossy didn't even design this thing and that's because i'm pretty sure they didn't you see this is a horizon hobby product and horizon hobby has a habit of buying up rc companies and taking over their design philosophy you know arma handles the bashers axial handles the crawlers low c the race trucks and spectrum will provide all the electronics none of their brands have to compete with each other it's great for most brands but not all of the horizon hobby kids get their own bedroom some of them end up sleeping in the broom closet i mean remember vaterra they made some epic rc crawlers rock racers short course trucks and had some legendary models that competed with the likes of losi and axial and they also made this look familiar yeah it's the same chassis as the lossy the same body even but horizon probably didn't like the idea of two of their brands competing with each other and vaterra got chopped seeing that lossy had a lot better brand recognition than vetera and they didn't have any 10 scale touring cars they figured they'd just pull off the vaterra stickers throw a lossy sticker and bam an all new platform from losi what's the problem with that well nothing except now that horizon hobby which is a much bigger company is doing the accounting the accountants get to do what they do best you know count stuff more importantly they figure out ways to minimize costs and maximize profits and it shows just take a look at the two in one esc receiver combo in place of an easily replaceable or upgradable esc and separate receiver this super cheap transmitter that they package with like entry-level or small-scale rcs you know you get the impression that horizon hobby didn't really intend for their customers to actually drive these things it's as if they would just put them on the shelves and they'd be admired for looking cool first and actually being drivable second so that begs the question why is it so expensive the licensed body well then what's the matter with the kyosho phaser mark ii they make a camaro body that looks arguably just as good but you're not limited to just two bodies they have tons of them from all different sorts of manufacturers they're cheaper the aftermarket is better the oem part support is better they're built better they're faster they will literally run circles around the low see and i think they might even look better also all the chase car footage from drifting around the shop yep that's shot from a kio show and look at this transmitter it's one of my favorite rtr transmitters out there they're comfortable they have tons of adjustability and they're much much more durable so why is it so expensive i have a theory i think horizon is charging that much for the lossy because they can now i'm not a fanboy when it comes to any particular brand except losi as a lot of you know my first hobby grade rc was elosi and i'm sure a lot of yours were too when i was a kid you either had a traxxas or a lossy those were the two biggest names in the game and horizon knows that there's people out there just like me and maybe even you that will buy anything with their name on it even if it sucks plus i've experienced all sorts of other 10 skill touring cars the four tech the lightning the sprint ii the rc-10 the tt02 but never a vaterra or a low-c touring car you know too often we look at rc's like spreadsheets we become obsessed with kv ratings top speeds gear ratios number of lipo cells telemetry and other technology and we forget what's really important it's the experience it's about going out and driving preferably with your buddies so yeah the smart money is on a kyosho phaser but we don't buy these toys with our heads buy them with our hearts and i love the low seat it's incredible so should you get one no get the keo show phaser or buy a red cat lightning they're like half the price or you know what get get get the low seat get what makes you happy don't listen to me i am a anyway thank you guys so much for watching um i'm sorry that i've been gone for like over a week um i had a death in the family and uh remember my cat ruby uh who just turned 20 years old she recently passed away as well so it's been an emotional rollercoaster ride over the past week or so but i am really excited to get back into doing rc chenerians and so those of you that reached out over the past week or so um and showed your support i really appreciate it it really really means a lot to me and if this is your first time checking out the channel welcome it's usually not this sad i like to do rc shenanigans all the time and i've got this which is pretty epic it's coming up you're probably going to want to stick around for it alright guys until next time chopping lucy's out here chopping them [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
