was right [Music] show off not all his own world dude edit all right oh okay you wanna just give you a countdown cool alright three two one go alright so my name is Andy I'm rerunning we passed all dungeons swordless I'm Patti I'm not going to be running a Link to the Past all dungeon swordless I'm supreme and I'm dodecahedron and together I don't think you want to try and pronounce that it's right off the bat we're gonna flip out of bounds here [Music] are we hopefully [Applause] hey there it is nice alright he jumps up we jumped off that ledge low enough so that we just go under the transition and we can walk around the gardens nice so this this walk to Eastern after that clip is a little slow so I told Andy I prepared a joke to tell during this time so it is a joke just be clear I started dating a girl that was a potato and she came from a very well-to-do family of potatoes is a beautiful family a very rich potatoes things were a little strained for a while and finally she called it off and I asked why why are you breaking up with me what's wrong and she said I can't do this anymore you're just a commentator oh my god I love you how long did that one take you to think up there my mom actually told me that one not even original material good if nothing I do is a Richard it probably took him longer than it took Marie to think it was not good so what's going on here Andy so right there Zelda's trying to get me to find a hidden entrance into the castle but I've I'm a little preoccupied it kind of grew that you're just ignoring her and yeah what happen to your uncle no one knows dude yeah he just disappeared is never to be heard from again [Music] so we're going through Eastern here it's a little dangerous we have literally nothing to protect ourselves so we're pretty much just hoping the enemies get out of our way and that's it my favorite part about this is that Andy just walked through a wall at the beginning and we didn't say anything about that we're just like yeah I just gonna put so if you guys are familiar with a lot of the link to the past ones you've seen or even like the right just erase from last agdq gonna all bets are off is like any and every glitch that Andy's disposal and we'll try to use to do this fast this game is a very sad and broken game since if you've not been introduced to the glitched categories before you're you're in for something very different than your usual a Link to the Past experience at least we get this nice background Reynaud though that you don't you're not used to we also get to hear the lovely beeping sound effect I used the links and vulnerability frames to touch the button while the anti-fairies were still around it so I didn't have to kill all the enemies because I literally couldn't [Music] hey there Zelda's asking pretty much where am I I'm taking so long she's a little impatient for being stuck in a jail cell I mean her life's count on the line man you just like traipsing around in this dungeon and he didn't I need to stock up for the ball and chain surgery that's fair that guy's pretty hard any time you wanted to pick up a heart would be just soon [Music] we cool Jarrod we cool well that's nice yo nice nice balls they're deeply they were not held coppering at all there you go thank goodness [Laughter] oh I missed there we go so the good news is our most really isn't any different than no major glitches or most categories oh that's a different word tonight nah that's pretty on par alright so I have to make sure oh there I go Oh didn't worry about there so if we pick up the pennant before this text actually happens the game heart locks and that's no fun depends on who you ask it's actually like interesting to see once and then hope it never happens again you basically get stuck in that like fade-out animation where the circle comes in and you just see it over and this were like that over that animation right now it just repeats that until the end of time and I'm just I just bring fire to the rain I am do you want to take my spot I don't want to be here so you'll see the real reason why he wanted to deplete that magic shortly so essentially want to do Eastern forces because we want to get the boots as soon as possible because we like to go fast that's all we want to do oh yeah my accordion answers believable you can look at this rarely seen link dashing sprite where he literally has nothing and he's just booking it we swing his arms a million miles a minute yeah so in this state the game is in right now if you go into a cave you won't be able to access the select menu which is normally used to to buffer one-frame movements for clips we also don't have access to your sword swing because you only get that when you talk to the uncle or you save Zelda so our only options at this point are Start menu which is god-awful and the I'm out of magic prompt when you try to use the lamp so since we didn't explain it even though we brought up that we didn't explain it the way Andy can walk into corners and just go through the wall is something really weird to do with the way the game like places tiles and hit boxes on the overworld and in caves so diagonals for some reason are really weird and if you move link one pixel at a time if the game doesn't really know what to do and after a certain point when you move link on a certain pixel inside of a diagonal block it'll either warp him up or down so Andy knows which way links going to war based on as good based on what pixel I think vertically he goes into the wall so essentially what happened there was going to the wall you know you're out of bounds the game's gonna try to force you out of the wall putting myself on a specific pixel will either force me upwards or downwards and I forced myself upwards past the railing so that I was able to see you intention and jump off a ledge and it jumped off the ledge underneath a floor and then there I voted out because while in this day which is called this is the explanation glitch while I'm in this state avoiding out actually interrupts the transition from layer to layer so the exploration glitch state is actually rearmed so I can use it again shortly hope you were taking notes there's a little of you cause good that's fine not really no he doesn't usually stop there buttons do we have time for some it I don't know where it'll put me actually I'm being honest oh oh you don't the sword yet oh yeah I don't know if it would put me it's all to sell it or not all right so oh I'm just not gonna risk it I just didn't know because normally people don't get hit by that garden so that's exactly why I don't know but you get to look at the Hyrule Castle with this nice cave background and it looks fantastic I doing over there dude I'm doing well how are you Patti I'm just chilling man it's a comfy couch comfy game company snakes those doesn't look as comfy as dad tell your dad [Music] I forgot what are you doing up here down down here okay alright we made it through that room it's fine dining that would be not good anyway so now that I have the use of my my sword slash I can use that to buffer my one frame movements instead of the Select menu and now we're gonna get a ferry you know field here and we're in the tower here oh you know pretty normal stuff makes sense to me that's fine completely normal holy moly holy moly one the Andi noises music nice that's not supposed to happen so we're gonna open this chest so in the cave state the game actually does a check for a big key if you have the big key from the ball and chain soldier you can actually open any big chest if you're in the cave state and then for small key doors the game actually only checks if you have zero keys if you have zero Keys the game will not allow you to open a locked door but in a cave state the game does not have a default value of zero for keys so because it doesn't say you have zero it allows you to open all the small key doors saying well programmed game that clip you can actually do without doing anything else you just walk off the right side of that hole and you land on the wall it's a really really video game alright please stop getting it oh he's gonna die man don't do it man at least I got that fairy yeah that was really better yeah so now just walk upstairs swim oh alright I mean I have a little trouble walking right now just chomping on that have you ever have you ever just Oh doggy paddle through tile before I have actually it's a good workout really rich those tries yeah a buns and thighs all right now we're gonna get the hook shot and we're done with this first little collection did and now we're off to Death Mountain I'm gonna pick up this bad boy real quick it really helps me out good old Saint cart so here's another form of clipping and outdoor diagonal walls you can actually use the boots to clip if you're holding your sword out because I'm clearly holding my sword out right here you can just hit a direction and oh that was one place too far hold the direction and - at the same time and you can go one pixel into the wall there we go now for a completely normal excursion of Death Mountain hey there's the door so what i did was i teleported myself from the the wall clip upwards which allowed me to transition right when it normally wouldn't allow you to and the screen to the right of that is death mountain so you just have to scroll the screen properly so the loading zone is on there because if it's not the game doesn't really know where to fade out to and it actually will take a very long time to fade out because the games just like i don't know what to do okay now we're gonna get the mirror so coming up I'm gonna use the hook shot to clip off the bottom of Death Mountain jumping off the bottom of death mountain on certain pixels actually wraps linked up to the top of the mountain but the game will still think of me position wise as going down from the mountain so as I'm going down the mountain the game is slowly pushing me downwards I'll open up the map so you can you can see what this game thinks it's happening right now as you can see I'm open this map up in the game just thinks I'm on the pyramid in dark roads right now that's awfully convenient yes I'm gonna mirror right here [Music] go into this loading zone and then I'm gonna take a nice death here hot and fresh ready in two minutes or less so if you save and quit when you have a Dark Worlds teleport on the overworld it actually goes away but if you take a death and warp like that it does not so we we do that to get to the Lynx house we do that to get the Lynx tiles quickly I participated so let me get to this work that is conveniently placed in hyrule castle courtyard and that's clearly where you drop the warp yeah clearly so here we're gonna get some silver arrows we don't really need them but they make things a lot faster and a lot easier the most notable time game is probably on vitreous as that boss sucks we're also gonna get a green potion huh what's got you giggling Andrew I just like magic you know so coming up next is a trick that I like to call a high rule 24 care magic we're gonna use this green potion to just get all sorts of money you didn't drink the potion I didn't proud of you I thought you're gonna give us the plaid they're firm really I'm a dangerous made with some rupees in my pocket keep up why you mad fix your face [Laughter] alright so as you can see I have nine hundred nine rupees now using a potion the same frame as a screen transition causes the potion to do something completely different than what it's supposed to fluting from inside a dungeon is not normally intended so the screen that you flew to will always look the same but what is actually there it'll be completely different and it just so happens that when we flew to one there's just one little tile with infinitely spawning blue rubies okay cool I saw out there for the first time this week and I didn't know how it happened and I was really worried that it was gonna happen during these but it did not so we're good either say that hook shot dashing item dashing is a thing hitting the item button and the dash button at the same time doesn't item - the japanese 1.0 only glitch and doing it with the hook shot actually puts the link in a glitch state where it's very easy to just walk right through corners in the overworld [Music] [Music] so we do need the flute flute speeds things up a lot [Music] that time fertile [Music] all right what are we doing next Andy I'm gonna clip through a rail and look at your level bounce yes what exactly are you doing planning I've been watching Andy practice this game throughout this week and I asked questions I was like so so what are you doing now and he'll say so what we're doing next and it's like oh I get to I get to participate now this is good that's why he turned around and very assertively said so what we're doing and sometimes you just need to participation trophy I have a lot of those huh all right so normally this dungeon you know you come in here with like seven or eight hearts and a sword but we but we don't have one so it's a little it's a little scary Barney just wanted a hug all right Patrick yes not you oh those Oh Patrick oh my goodness we're fine good hell why your snake actually helped me Anthony I'd like to say that D boos was 100% intentional but it wouldn't 100% not okay so this origin is pretty normal we won't be getting the hammer really enjoy the irony of that fight in this run where you defeat blind using a cane you know I never actually thought of that but that is a pretty scary if I only have five hearts maximum so it can go pretty wrong pretty quick but it went pretty well so I'm happy that's what's important it going well or me being happy you being happy I care about you thanks Patrick we can take a donation now research for my video about this run and I wanted to thank you here's hoping that your screen wraps are successful and your why be a perfectly timed to also kill the animals when I was unfortunate I forget I died so when I transitions when I when I be blind I was in like a hybrid light world dark world kind of thing and when I transitioned the game put me in the light world and that was bad so I can fix it there's just a little inconvenience just got to come up here and jump off the mountain do get to see a fun little little glitch clip the kind of thing yeah this runs just full of so many weird tricks and glitches and strange things that you mess up one thing and it kind of can have a chain reaction on everything else you're trying to do so there's a lot of walk through a tree it's pretty hard that's easy just got to believe in yourself maybe an axe though is catch always catch alright so coming in skull was pretty quick there's gonna be a pretty significant glitch that we call a door Chuck so I'm gonna normally you can't take things above your head into doorways it'll treat you treats it as a wall so I'm gonna do that and the game's gonna treat me as I'm out of balance so it's gonna try to pop me out and it's not gonna work very well I'm actually gonna hop around this upward screen transition which causes the game to load different memory into this room what's the big key in this chest and this normally junk room that's right here is now the conveniently placed big chest room so you can see the screen scroll or the screen lock is a little a little messed up right now get the nice fire rod we're gonna you know go through this door glad I could help so here is what we call the skull woods mega route we're gonna flute from this dungeon via why be a glitch to eight and now we're just roaming the the underworld as we like to call it basically every cave and dungeon is all connected so fluting from Skull woods you know causes a little stuff to happen a little stuff yeah a little stuff no this is this is a pretty minor but because I fluid from skull woods the game still thinks I'm in school with so I have the big key property still so I'm gonna be going around unlocking big key doors I've already opened a palace of darkness toward this door right here is in ganas Tower yes the staircase is still work for some reason what reason I don't I think that would take more time than the rest of this run to probably explain super sketch isn't here to to just unload knowledge on everyone unfortunately super sketches he knows a lot about this game he figured out a lot of this stuff I think and this run would not exist without him so shoutouts to that guy's sched who's my boy coming up here sorry for resetting your console oh man so that was the turtle rock door and then there's one more door we're gonna open you know what dungeon this is Patty's it look familiar to you I've never played this game why are you on my couch I don't know you ask me that's a lot of it's a good question anyways here's the here's the fabled Fishman that you almost never see in a speedrun and here is the mystery Meyer door when when would you see it in a speedrun never why you said almost never I mean when you're bad at the game you might see it sometimes you get lost you lose your minds complicated I don't get it it's alright we'll explain later okay sedessa skull was pretty quick there is one thing interesting to sort lists is that normally there's a room with a vine that you have to cut to train to to go past so you get some ocula and you know we don't really have a sword to cut that vine so we're gonna have to find some way to get around that similar to the the door juke I did before when I put the smaller block in the door but instead of going back down through the transition I'm actually gonna go up and that's gonna I'm gonna do some wonky stuff you were kidding oh my god this menu is fantastic there you can actually see so what what happens to the screen after that happens is completely random sometimes I can barely see anything in my menus just invisible that's three well this is this is perfect sort of I'm gonna be honest I thought the entire reason he did that was just cuz it was fast not because you could I thought the fire artists burn it down that little don't think that's his breath of the wild yeah that make too much sense this is a good video game hot take happy thoughts Andy happy thoughts so most of you has probably seen it run by now but Mithila if you're knock him into the spikes will not take damage so he's really not cooperating with Andy in the slightest you'd think that they program a boss to take damage no matter what considering how well they program the rest of this game I mean look at it it's a beautiful video game Oh a beat him yeah so the only issue with that is is because the only thing we have to hurt Mottola is the fire rod which is just magic we only have a limited amount of magic so hitting one of the spikes too many times we might not be able to kill him but as long as you're patient and wait for way for him to get off the wall should be fine normally donations yeah anytime you and you just see Andy's face like I'll look another clip oh oh maybe not never mind way to go patty look what you did oh do I participate as I say if you want to take credit for the goodie I take her in for bad - no that's not his style all right so because we've opened the palace retinas Vikki door already I don't want to get the big key so I'm gonna get the hammer before reloading the dungeon properly I think ANSI there's no sprites anywhere so going down to the hummus order room I wouldn't even be able to because I there's no crystal switches to get them what that make the switches go down all right I'm gonna try this thing real quick I will give it one more go oh it's wrong so bomb jumping bombs up is great and all but we don't have a way to get out of that little square if I had actually been able to bin I'm not so easy is it if we can hover clip through that railing you can actually open the chest while still stuck in the rail and just avoiding back to the entrance of this room so it saves a little time but it's it's a little difficult I've only done it a handful of times now that we have the hammer I can load the dungeon and we can be on our merry way oh and hovering works correct me if I'm wrong but you can only release the a button for two frames ed one frame she's my bad yeah just one every 30 frames every 30 seconds yeah just once every 30 seconds I don't know how it works I don't know why they gave me a mic I shouldn't be here that's exactly why you're here this week and he came up to me hey can you embarrass yourself in front of thousands of people for my pleasure sure so we have the silver arrows so we're gonna make pretty quick work of these mimics and then I'm gonna be doing another potion glitch she's actually called yba or use a part of bottle adventure named after the Japanese TAS or he found it there we go so the way the way those glitches work essentially is they all when you use an item it has a value that it pulls from a table and whatever the values associated with [Music] whatever the values associated with it'll do that action but doing using an item the same frame as a screen transition actually adds one to the value that it pulls which is why they do different things anyways here's Thomas story hammer is masked 17 times you don't seem too scared of this boss he knows his tricks I know about the paddy corner actually really helps me out do you want to do you want to explain the paddy corner she go down here when you're really scared and he's flailing about that's the paddy corner the same named after you just go to the corner when you're scared that's rad yeah like up right man I refer to it as the safety corner but if you want to call it the paddy corner be my guest hater Killa yeah it looks like it's donation screen so 50 dollars from a Muffy the great who says really digging the new Drive paddy insane percent route when we go back to the one heart for a bit another twenty five dollars if you can crack a new original potato pun let's put this towards shattered man on the last glitch hurrah right at the end you have to come up with something original help me came prepared with one and it wasn't mine hmmm let him rack his brain with I'll save you I'll save you and read another donation I'll go to our town real quick hundred dollars from desk Wacken dying laughing on my own couch while the wife tries to sleep keep up the great commentary had to donate during the game that defined my childhood kill the animals and save the frames alright so this is probably the most complicated glitch in this game that you'll ever see if you'd like to make out the pace endowed all right so we're reading from the book of super sketch with this frame perfect death here basically when you die the same frame that you fall down a hole and the screen transitions it increments the sub mode which results in a broken mode sub mode combination the room number in RAM changes to that of the room below however it is never loaded thus transitioning north places few in the room north of the room below this one from which you can jump through a wall to activate eg this also under flows the room number from 10 to 250 which causes all sprites to de-spawn including the mantle blocking the sewers and escape what feel like I just went to a university lecture yeah thank you sketch that was like graduate level a link to the past do I have time to plug a quick donation insentive yes make it real quick okay so at the end of this run there is the Zelda to choose the filename incentive and that will be done after this run is over so currently lunk is in the lead with one thousand eight hundred fifty eight dollars and forty three cents followed by error with one thousand five hundred and thirty two dollars and fifty two cents so again you have until the end of this run to get that in then we will close that incentive thanks man alright so now pyro cass is the only dungeon that has one screen transition that goes from dungeon to not dungeon which is that transition right there so what happened right there is the game changed the dungeon ID value so when you're in palace darkness you know the dungeon ID value is linked to darkness but after going through that screen transition the game actually thinks I'm a misery mire right now because it subtracted from from the current than the nineteen and then this this store right here is geographically inaccurate as it was explained to me so just going through it the game has no idea what to do and just respawns all the sprites but I don't know the technical it's called cheating so the reason that we do this glitch is because normally you would need a sword to enter misery mire to obtain the ether medallion but because this is a swordless run we have to adjust the game's ID for these dungeons and as a result like you can't just go straight to the misery mire boss you actually have to change the ID so that the tree is that ends up loading and by defeating him you can collect the crystal essentially we had to de-spawn all the sprites because the throne or the Shelf was blocking the the doorway and then after we went through that door we had to respawn all the sprites to get this glitch to work but now we're a misery mire everything's properly ID'd where we'll be good to go pretty soon can't wait [Music] hey uh we're cool yeah we want to read a donation they're bigger I mean if you want go for it um $25 from loop on who says I've played a lttp once a year since the day it came out but I've never seen a
