And the little black boy grew up to be Chandler Parsons. The end!
Linspirational
Speaking of people who ruin pick up games, I always hated when Jeremy Lin would show up and pick the little kid for his team.
James Harden's sequel coming soon
"The Last Drive"
A little boy is sitting on the side of a curb, sobbing into his arms, ball by his side. "I'm always picked last. I'm worthless" he mutters to himself.
Out of no where Harden approaches carrying a box.
"Hey you can be in my entourage, an opening just became available." Harden says, while throwing the little boy the box containing a matching shirt, shorts, kicks and lenseless frames along with a fake beard.
The little boy is surprised and excitedly asks "Really? How do I play? Should we practice?"
Harden smiles and tells him "Don't worry, I believe in you. You'd be the perfect teammate."
The next day Harden shows up accompanied by the little boy, now jubilantly bouncing the basketball around. Everyone is dumbfounded for a moment, then they rush towards James Harden asking for photos and autographs.
After the commotion settles they commence selecting teams for the pick-up game. Harden points towards the little boy "I pick the little bearded one." Everyone is shocked.
Game begins. Harden tells everyone to stand in the corner. Jab step, jab step, drives to the basket 1v5, eurosteps, yells AY, makes the basket then shoots the And-1.
Harden goes to the little boy "See, I told you you'd be the perfect teammate."
Credits.
so cheesy but still great
I was hoping the kid's text message to Jeremy in the end was the same as Jeremy's text to the kid:
"Hey buddy, hope your test went well. Remember to follow through when you shoot!"
I liked the message behind it. I liked how Lin didn't show his San Antonio game but thr game he didn't play well in. He is truly a class act. Not sure why so many people love putting him down.
That was an interesting sports documentary. It's great to see the behind the scenes action like that.
Jeremy actually does play at that school during the off-season. Me and a few friends played ball with him last summer. He was pretty good.
