The Last 80s/90s Chuck E Cheese About To Be Gutted

so right now I'm in my hometown of Reseda California and we're about to go inside this Chuck E cheese right behind me because I recently got a tip from one of my viewers letting me know that this Chuck E cheese is about to get a full Remodel and supposedly this is the last Chuck E cheese that still has all of its original Decor or maybe not original but from the 90s it hasn't been updated since back then and uh I think in June they're going to rip everything out and do a full remodel of this restaurant so I came down here to uh to try and document it before it's gone forever now although I grew up here in Reseda I actually did not come to this Chuck E cheese very often I did come here a few times I remember a few of my cousins had their birthday parties here so I definitely did come here a couple of times just not very often however I am still very appreciative of the Nostalgia that lives inside of this Chuck E cheese and I'm sad to see it go so what we're gonna head inside and document it well we still can so let's go see what we can find foreign now I wonder if when they do the renovation if they're renovating the outside of the building as well and getting rid of that sign because I do believe that's the original sign for this location it still has the classic looking Chuck E cheese mascot the newer mascot is kind of weird looking now like I said I didn't come to this Chuck E cheese a lot but I did come to this Plaza for other things and I don't think this Plaza has ever been remodeled I remember it always looking just like this and you can see right here it still has the multi-colored tiles like you would have found on the older Chuck E cheese buildings so that's a pretty good indication that the outside of the building has never been remodeled as soon as you get inside the restaurant there's some old school signs with that same design on them that we saw on the outside of the building this one letting you know that they don't discriminate against their customers for any reason but more importantly no firearms are allowed inside Chuck E cheese those of you that wondered if that was a rule now you know now this is definitely an old school sign why our kids are breathing easier our restaurant is smoke-free definitely an old school sign because you haven't been able to smoke inside a restaurant in California in many years now over on this side they have some framed magazines with Chuck E cheese on them and you can tell that these are original by the way that they're discolored and Faded you know that these have been here for 30 plus years all right so let's check this place out so one of the first things you see when you get inside the restaurant is the prize counter and this is where you would come to redeem all of the tickets that you got from playing the games and you would stand here looking at all these wonderful prizes trying to figure out what you wanted to get maybe some cotton candy or they have some Chuck E cheese stuff over here like an activity book a toy hammer with Chuck E cheese on it lots of cool stuff but it really didn't matter because the only thing you were ever able to get was something from down here that's right the cheap prizes hanging right above where you order your food they have this really cool sign with the classic Chuck E cheese on it might be kind of hard to see because the lights causing a really bad reflection and it looks like someone's pizza is ready and it looks delicious but it's not one of the many old school signs that'll most likely be destroyed in just a couple of months Chucky's Garden Fresh Salad bar probably not that fresh now over here on the door of the restroom check this out that is definitely old school right there and that is too cool let's see what they have on the door of the woman's restroom now just so you know I felt kind of weird filming inside the restroom but I did go inside the men's room and the tile in there is all original and has that same design that we saw on the outside of the building and this is the room for the really little kids where they have the rides and some of the simpler games and over here they have some most likely original frame posters of some of the characters and I gotta wonder what's gonna happen to all this stuff after they do the remodel is it all just going to get destroyed maybe it's just going to go into storage I mean who knows now this is really cool very 90s maybe 80s very awesome and just the booths too are so cool the colors on the booths and I wonder what this is all going to look like when they're done [Music] and here we got some of the kitty rides oh right down there That's a classic right in the car right next to Chuck E cheese himself now this is a really good one got the giant pencil with the ruler and the Stars around it want to promote doing your schoolwork some more of those framed magazines Chuck E cheese on a basketball magazine a tennis magazine so much cool stuff in here it's all gonna be gone pretty soon now if you came here as a kid in the 80s or 90s the showroom was definitely your favorite place because this is where the stage was where the animatronics would put on the show now I do believe these are the last animatronics that you can come see inside of a Chuck E cheese but just for a couple of more months pretty soon these are going to be ripped out and gone forever now I don't even know if these still work I don't know if they still put on a show but there they are man this brings back so many memories so much cool stuff in here like they have a parody of the Michael Jackson Bad album which is pretty funny but when kids today even get that you got the Saturday Night Fever parody [Music] and the Beatles Yellow Submarine of course Yellow Submarine Sandwich makes perfect sense Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA you know what let me let me actually go up the ramp here so we can get a good look at all this stuff [Music] flabby Road and over here they have Mount Rushmore with of course Chuck E Cheese's head being added to the lineup and right next to it a parody of Iron Butterfly now I said would kids today get this but honestly did kids in the 80s and 90s get that I don't think a lot of kids back then knew who Iron Butterfly was I did but I don't think a lot of kids did [Music] I gotta be honest before coming here today I didn't really put a lot of thought into Chuck E cheese but being in here and seeing all this old school stuff it's really bringing back the memories and yeah I'm really bummed that they're ripping all this out now like I said I don't even know if these animatronics still work I would love to see a show [Music] maybe I'll go to the front and ask them what the deal is with the animatronics I don't know if they only turn it on when there's a party in here or or what but it is really cool to see these again I haven't seen these I don't even know when the last time was since I was a kid for sure foreign [Music] just look at this TV the fact that they have a projection TV in here that tells you how long it's been since they've updated stuff so and there he is the man himself Mr Chuck E cheese oh they're moving I think it's showtime yes all right let's do this [Music] now I wouldn't normally show the entire song but this might be the last time we get to see this so let's man what's it to be happy for an hour don't want to get back to be happy for a day go fishing for a year [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] yes that was awesome I'm definitely glad that I came down here today and got to see that that brought back a ton of memories and I feel like I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day some more of that old school artwork that again is all going to be gone in just a couple of months and I hate to say it but this is probably the last time that I'll see these animatronics in person ever for the rest of my life what a bummer Chuck E cheese at a drive-in movie again you know this is old because no kid would know what a drive-in movie is they got the birthday party display here showing you everything you get if you book your birthday party at Chuck E cheese and I think this is a ticket blower the birthday child gets to go in here and it blows tickets all around them and they get to keep whatever they catch I don't think they had that back in the day at least I don't remember that gone it looks like Chuck has his own YouTube channel now I got some competition all right my friends sad to say but this is probably the last time that I will ever see you thanks for all the memories now before we get out of here I'll try and give you a shot of the entire restaurant the best that I can I really don't know what they're gonna have after they do the remodel I don't know if they're completely from what I understand they're getting everything so I think this will all be gone one more shot of the showroom sign that awesome Chuck E cheese logo I would love to get my hands on that hopefully somebody gets it I just don't want it to end up in the trash oh I didn't show over here they got the beverage station oh and check out that beverage sign you know how some things when you look at them you can just tell like that's 80s or 90s I was about to leave and the show's going again I'm tempted to go back in there and catch one more just talking to the manager and she did confirm that they're getting a full remodel they're gonna get the place and they're gonna redo the entire restaurant so I'd say within the next couple of months this is all going to be gone and I asked her if she knows when the last time was the restaurant was remodeled and she said she doesn't think it's ever been remodeled like they've just replaced little things that needed to be fixed but they've never remodeled the whole restaurant and she said that definitely most of the decor in here is from the 90s and she said she even remembers coming here when she was a little girl and that she remembers a lot of like the framed pictures and stuff are exactly the same so really sad to see this stuff go but it is what it is I guess uh a huge thank you to my
