yeah it's a it's a legitimate concern i  totally understand and appreciate it and uh   and to be honest um i've thought it myself going  through this i've thought you know what if someone   ends up deconverting because of this now it hasn't  happened to date and uh and and i'm thankful for   that where where i've landed is if the mission  in front of us is friendship and pursuing truth   i'm okay i'm okay if the mission in front of us  is deconstruct everything that you believe with an   unbeliever i'm not okay and that's not the mission  that we're going for got it and so i i understand   that um that the doubters club is trying to  build a bridge that jesus can walk across   from one heart to the next and uh and then the  response is up to that person i understand that i   i think that i just have to keep in mind okay the  mission here is friendship and truth friendship   and truth and uh and so i don't encourage people  hey just go in there and it's a deconstructionist   group it's not a deconstructionist group it's it's  a it's a doubters club where doubters are welcome   i think that's awesome part of my  response to parents is i say look   kids are getting this information through netflix  through youtube through the educational system   i'd rather in a loving relationship train them  and take this risk with confidence in the truth   than frankly put our heads in the sands  and not engage these kinds of issues   if christianity's really true and you and  i think it is we shouldn't be threatened   by views and ideas that challenge our faith if we  have the two components you keep coming back to   healthy relationships but also commitment to  truth preston i am so glad that you reached   out your publishes publicist reached out i think  what you're doing is great i want to encourage you   and your book the doubters  club i want to commend to   our viewers pick it up if you want to support  what preston is doing and you want to just help   foster civil conversation this isn't going to  fix everything but it's going to make a tangible   difference what i like about this precedent  sometimes we talk about like how do we christians   change culture and like i start to realize  i have little influence over that but i   can be a better parent i can be a better  neighbor and there's small things i can do   to make a difference in this and i felt  like your book was like here's a small thing   all christians could do so i hope you'll pick up  a copy of the doubters club share it with a pastor   share it with a friend give it to an atheist and  say hey if you're a christian take a look at this   would you be willing to go on this venture  with me now somebody was like i want to do a   daughter's club what is that process like for them  to get trained and consider doing it in their city   yeah they could just go to the doubters  club.com and they can sign up for a training   and then we'll reach out to them put them  in a cohort that works with their schedule   and then we'll make sure we walk with  them all the way through starting one   oh i love that so you've got the training  to multiply even
