This plane is the definition of cool. It outran MISSLES! Whatβs the point of stealth when you could just outrun the adversaryβs defenses hahaha.
The titanium used for the construction was bought by a CIA she'll company from the USSR!
My wedding band is made from a piece of one of the engine nozzles by a guy that used to work on them. So dope.
I went to a event at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo museum where they had pilots and support crew present. Was so badass.
I had a physics professor back in high school who was an engineer on the blackbirdβs GPS system. Dude was an absolute genius and drank at least 10 cups of coffee a day.
Pretty much every Real Engineering video is amazing
If anyone is interested, there is a book about the blackbird and some other cool planes written by the former lead engineer. It is named after the R&D department at lockhheed, "skunkworks". The video is great BTW.
