The Hospital's IT Staff hates me

somebody has to have used this as a zip line before right everywhere i go there's always something interesting to be found the hospital room is no exception i spend a lot of time in these places so today i wanted to show you something interesting i found out about this iv machine there is a bar graph for the channels right now i'm having i have two ivs going in right now benefit of being a crohn's patient and sometimes you get lots of drugs in at the same time but you can see these little graphs that are here there's one that's a little further and now it's really far um those are actually the pressure the back pressure from the line coming out of the bottom into my arms so if you ever are like me and you're waking up a lot in the middle of the night because this thing starts beeping at you it's probably because you bend your arm if it's in your ac line and if i keep my arm like this for a little while probably start beeping at me and this will go into pause mode and it'll start complaining this thing inside of here has a pump there it goes let me restart that this thing has a pump that's so sensitive and has the measurement for the back pressure it can check for air in the line all these different things it'd be really cool if someday i could uh interview somebody from lars who makes these things because some of the you know micro electronics and things that we work on in the raspberry pi world and the pico and arduino and things this is that but on a whole nother level the kind of sensitivities and things that they can get i'm sure these things cost thousands of dollars [Music] it's kind of funny if you're like me and you end up in hospitals quite often there's a lot of technology and a lot of interesting little features you might never notice there's a lot of fun things i've learned about the hospital bed in the past couple visits too but you know that'll be for another video until next time i'm jeff gearling
