The Honeycomb Beehive Resin Platter

hey everybody let's do it alright now this is a little bit too thick to be making a platter out of so I'm gonna get this down to about two inches for the platter and my bandsaw is not tall enough to get up here so I'm going to go about half way and then saw it with a handsaw things I do huh all right now I got this piece left over on both sides gets to do the UH the platter with all right so I've got two cracks in this board three cracks over here this is on the outside that's not much of a big deal this one is a big deal that one's not too bad a bit of it up so what I have is some thin CA glue and some black I'm gonna flood this with thin CA glue and then try to get some black in there so all right now let's get this in there all right we're going with that fully cure and we're going to go with it part I wouldn't cut some honeycomb for this platter and it's going to go in right in here right there I'm going to cut a little piece for right there [Music] alright then use the burnt orange and oranges color I'm hoping it comes out good [Applause] [Music] in here that bubbles popping if it goes down into the honeycomb it sounds like water trickling all right so I've got a crack right here and a crack right there small little cracks what happened is this I made a poor and I realized I needed to put a little bit more in so I did another pour on top of it but I waited too long so it started to get hot and then I used this torch right here to try to get the bubbles out and I got it a little bit too hot so now I'm going to pour another pour on top of it and hopefully it'll seep into these holes [Music] starve on thick [Applause] activator let's see how fast we get this sucker now we're gonna leave it about 600 you round it off this step is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] power-saving to keep one of these handy it'll clean it off and you can resend I had to do it off-center because of the resin [Music] guess what it's obese add your time [Music] all right I'm gonna put five more coats on this and then I'll come back [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay after a lot my 60 grit gouge I think I got it ready for a 120 took a while [Music] whoa that is off I'm gonna put a few more coats on this and I'll be back in just a little bit [Music] [Laughter] screw this crap holy moly hey James right respect brother respect oh my god this is your dick yes
