Man, that was an awesome concert. They played a Game of Thrones medley where Rains of Castamere started out with young girls screaming into pillows which is a thoroughly discomfiting sound
They also did a 'Gaming in Symphony' last year, with video game music. Some of it straight up gave me the chills listening. And the conductor, Eimear Noone, is absolutely amazing.
a few other highlights from an enchanted evening
The Lord of the Rings - MAY IT BE // The Danish National Symphony Orchestra
Shannara Chronicles - Until We Go Down // The Danish National Symphony Orchestra
Willow - Elora Danan's Birth // The Danish National Symphony Orchestra
a few years ago our national symphony made a concert celebrating Ennio Morricone and his music for the spaghetti westerns (see their version of the good the bad the ugly - it is stunning). since then they've started making a lot of film music concerts, this time they covered fantasy.
it was a magical night.
That's such a deep voice. I'm danish and am proud to watch this xD
I have chills
These guys are the best! Their most popular video, which I very much love, is the Main Theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. So, so good!
This a link to the full version. Dont know if it works outside of denmark.

Aw man. My community orchestra is playing a fantasy concert this fall but we can't afford LotR music.
I can’t listen to this music without almost bawling because my friend loved these movies and knew anything and everything there was to know about them and loved the books. We could talk about it for so long. But she passed away in July of last year. I’ve always loved the music and still do but can’t hear it without remembering her and then crying. But it’s so beautiful darn it
This is awesome! If you want to see something similar, check out: Georgia Philharmonic, they do a couple performances a year that's Fantasy and SciFi stuff, and one of them is at DragonCon for the past 5 years or so.
The link above has some recordings folks have posted from the DragonCon concerts, but nothing official.
