It's Friday, September 17, 2021, which means Peak Of The Week is
here. Taking a look at a new
adult animated comedy chock full of notable voice
talent called The Harper House. Plus the return of UEFA, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,
and more. Plus, we'll ride the waves of
nostalgia for the 45th anniversary of The
Love Boat. it's all coming up right now, So hit that subscribe
button and stay tuned because it's go time. What's up everyone? Keshia Chanté here, and I'm back for another episode of Peak of
The Week. This is the spot to get all the
deets on the new stuff hitting
Paramount+. From new original
series, to old favorites, to live events, and beyond. And this one's a doozy. So I hope y'all blocked out
some time on your calendars because it's gonna be a
tough to have a social life and get all of this
goodness into your eyeballs. One thing I'm super excited
about is the new animated series dropping this week
called The Harper House. When the matriarch of
the wealthy Harper clan loses her cushy job, she moves her family to a
less affluent part of town, and they do their best to blend
in. Hey, let's try to seem
cool with being here, okay? For the neighbors' sake. How are you doing? [Keshia] It's got a stunning
cast of talented actors voicing its characters,
including Rhea Seehorn, Jason Lee, Tatiana
Maslany, and Ryan Flynn. We asked them to stop by Peak of
The Week to tell us a little bit about
the show, and well, here's how it went. [upbeat rock music] Hey everyone, I'm Rhea Seehorn, and I play Debbie Harper in
the new adult animated comedy, The Harper House. The Harper House is
about the Harper family, and how they navigate
significant changes to their, let's call
it, accepted lifestyle that they've been accustomed to. Kinda okay, right? [Freddie] Just think of this
like camping. - Cool. A ceiling fan? [dirt mound sploshes] [Rhea] Debbie is a doting mother of two very, very sweet
precocious
children, Todd and Ollie. You're good at being a dick. I'm good at people. - You can all suck my bag. [people gasping] Todd is basically a
walking hug of a young man. People look bad in sweat pants,
okay? It means they gave up on life. [Ryan] Now, Ollie, she's kind of a bit of
a genius know-it-all. You guys wanna come over
and watch WrestleMonium and eat stuff at our house
tonight? You're strange. I like that. The Bradleys are the next door
neighbors. How are you doing? - Here we go. Oh no, no. It's clear from the moment
the Bradleys meet the Harpers, there's chemistry. Okay, we're done here. Next time, here's a little tip
for you. Don't treat us like diversity
trophies. Oh my God, I'm so bad and wrong. Debbie is a planner. She puts a lot of thought into every venture that
she sets out to accomplish. Ooh, uh-oh, timeout. Y'all got a license to sling
drink? Oh, [beep]. The fuzz. [car tire screeches] [cars honk] And she is honest to a fault. [Debbie] It's not lying, babe. It's withholding the truth. She loves connecting with her
community. [can clanks] [engine whirs] And she creates a space
of openness and dialogue. A safe space for everyone to
explore whatever they're thinking or
feeling. Shut the f*** up. What the F is wrong with you? She often has to think
for her husband, Freddie, who is a bit more laissez faire. Mom said we had to make
a fricking lemonade stand for allowance money. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Do not do that. Rad. I'll go get you some snacks. What I love about The Harper
House is that you really feel
the care this town has for all of its residents. It feels like a place
you would wanna live in. Normally, your actions would have resulted in legal
action, but this is a poor school
and the town neglects us. And also, the Harper house
itself is more than just a building. It's a home. [shocking music] [Todd screams] And it's a household
of good natured people just really, really trying
to do the right thing. [drone screeches]
[children shout] [drone explodes] [Ollie laughs] [upbeat quirky music] You didn't tell me you were
engaged. Yeah, it's not a big deal. What? It's a huge deal. What is wrong with everybody

looking for, it's advice. And we all need to count on our
friends for relationship advice
from time to time, right? Whether it's trying to figure
out what the hell that weird
text is supposed to mean, or picking apart a potential
partner's social media posts, our friends are lifesavers as we float adrift in the
complicated sea of courtship. That's true of the characters
of Single Ladies as well, who always have invaluable
dating tips to dispense. Love is an illusion for the
weak. All we need is good sex
and money in the bank. Cha-ching. If you wanna go on a real date, don't go out with a guy
unless he steps it up. Let him pick up the phone
and make a reservation. Suffocation is a flimsy excuse for not answering a phone call. - Agreed. Never let your ex see you sweat. You can't assume a good
friend will make a good lover. If you want him to turn you
on, you need to tell him how. If you're gonna be successful,
then you gotta move on. - I have. - No, you haven't, babe. Dating has been replaced
by the hookup culture. Thank you social media. It's a breakup survival kit. Everything a single lady needs. Well, almost. You still have those batteries
in your night stand, right? How dare you. I like a take charge kinda guy
myself. It's like eating that
second piece of cake. So satisfying in the moment,
but 10 minutes later, you're angry at yourself
and ready to throw up. Why not try something different? If I keep going after the same
guys, I'm gonna end up in the
same kind of relationships. And what kind is that? - The ones that don't work. Love is a high stakes game,
baby. I don't have to tell you that. - You sure don't. - You know what they say? If you don't play, you can't
win. I think that's the motto
for the state lottery. Oh honey, that's the motto for
everything. Stream Single Ladies on
