The Hardest Pyramid to Explore, The Mysterious Bent Pyramid of Egypt

hello guys and welcome to the ben pyramid here in dashore i hope you can hear me because the wind is really high even though it's super warm this place is one of the least visited pyramids in egypt and i don't know why because it is actually amazing the reason it's amazing is it's because it's the first attempt at building a smooth sided pyramid and it's actually one of the best kept examples of what the outer casing would have looked like on the pyramids this is older than the great pyramids of giza however it is newer or younger than the pyramids that saqara the step pyramids so let's have a closer look and explore the vent pyramid of their shore right so apparently the entrance this tomb or this pyramid is not as extreme as the rep pyramid which you can just see if she opposite me right now turn around guys look have a look you can see it there it's quite interesting because you don't really notice the bend on this pyramid when you're close up to it have a look guys you can see a bit closer over there let's see how smooth it is okay so we're here at the entrance of the pyramid someone lied to me because they said this was not as bad as the pyramid it's actually 85 meters down this one so it's actually worse oh my god and it's actually smaller it's super super tight okay there's some people coming up down there i don't see them [Music] is sir [Music] oh my god we're about halfway down 85 meter shaft you can see down here and all the way up there behind me is hard guys i'm six foot two and even my girlfriend is five foot two and she's struggling with this it is tight tight and really really steep made it to the first part yeah okay oh my god so it's 85 meters down and then another 10 meters up as you can see in front of me and then we're in the first chamber so let's head up 10 meters oh my god we're gonna be doing this guys it's like pre-trained to do this oh my god this place i must look up so once you get your breath back from the descend down you've got a whole other bunch of stairs here to climb if you look up guys um you can see we're here in one of the main chambers the first chamber you enter to there's another one further up let's head up there and have a look passage to go through okay again very small about one meter high let's go absolutely yeah i'm [Music] so in the last chamber look down see there's wood supporting it guys in the main chamber in the upper chamber of the event pyramid it is a mission and a half to get into this place i'm exhausted especially after going into the red pyramid as well today it's super silent in here it's really weird right now we've made it let's head back out slowly without completely losing our breath thing here [Music] slide down [Applause] so this is not easy see i'm literally sliding down on my backside the whole way because i'm too tall to crouch down i need to sit down okay all right so this way way out look the other way now the way in so we're in that kind of dip v shape just before we actually entered i'm gonna turn around i'm not looking forward to this because i've got crawl the whole way up now 85 meters some people coming down if you're wondering what you do you just literally stay to one side all right let's do this let me just scrub my camera to my nose see people there are coming down backwards it's actually what i found to be one of the easiest ways just to walk backwards down here shame i'll come backwards up as well this is this is this is the easy part but you don't know it gets worse inside okay trick is with this just take your time as best as you can like i am trying to i was just going to get exhausted and burn out i'll just stop for a break have a look down there i can hear him about halfway have a look up the other way see my girlfriend there five foot two of her it's also struggling i had to give her my backpack because i just i just can't fit i literally physically can't fit with my backpack or my back on my front door so she's kind of not even touching the ceiling there but my god this is tough all right let's keep going before my battery finishes uh this is where the last part is even narrower then at the bottom i've got about another 15 meters to go welcome back out to the light that was one of the toughest things i've ever done in terms of perfect exploring anyway super super tough and hot so there you go guys that's what the vampires looks like on the inside omg that was a challenge oh seriously that's officially just taken the number one spot for the hardest pyramid to descend into so let's talk a bit more about this place i'm sad to breath i'm still out of breath so why is the outer casing still intact unlike a lot of the other pyramids well believe it or not engineers believe is because they weren't that good at building flat sided pyramids yet when they built this one remember this is the first attempt at building that side of pyramid so the imperfections within the build are either gaps between the stones allowed for expansion over the years and because there was space for that expansion the pyramid managed to hold itself together including the external surface of it which is amazing when you think of it the other ones were almost too good in a way that you know they ended up kind of falling apart slightly plus obviously the locals ended up tapping into some of the outer casing where this one hasn't been disturbed too much so until the next time bye
