welcome to scare theater and today I'm going to be talking about the grifter which is requested by sky buddies 101 and here's the scary picture of the day which was sent in by Kenneth Hartsock so anyways here is the grifter debunked the grifter is an alleged video that was first mentioned somewhere on 4chan Zechs imageboard watching it is said to be a soul rendering experience far more horrible than anything one could imagine this image is that they contain screenshots of some of the scenes in the video the few that have washed it are said to have been killed in their own homes with only one thing in common a strange doll hidden somewhere in their homes there's a message by the end of the video and the constructed international auxiliary language Esperanto and says this child now a young man is still alive and lives in a local shelter whose name was not given he never spoke and still in cata Tony the only true thing about this creepypasta is that it originated on 4chan on August 10th 2009 a user on the export of 4chan named the solipsistic out the grifter which he described as a video that was so disturbing it would take a huge toll on the mental state of anyone who watched it along with the post he included three screenshots that were allegedly from the video later there was a follow-up thread that described the grifter in much more detail such as a bathtub full of maggots text in a different language and a cradle with the child in it the grifter became a huge thing on 4chan and a lot of people would post thread talking about how disturbing the video was but no one would ever actually show the video on August 15th 2009 someone posted a question to Yahoo Answers asking people what the grifter was one of the replies said the grifter was simply something people use to troll each other on 4chan the video didn't actually exist which is why no one ever showed it but people would pretend they saw it just to make it frustrate everyone else so the grifter initially began as a troll then on September 8th 2009 a user named Joe Jakob 666 posted the very first video of what he claimed to be the grifter the video began with text in a different language and then cut to a strange video of a hallway throughout the video it displayed some weird images that pretty much followed what was said in the original description of the grifter there's also another video of the grifter posted later by a user named shirt in 2010 but this is literally the exact same video posted in 2009 except they just took out the part that had the text in it so obviously this video was just made to create more hype and convince more people that the grifter was actually real so how exactly was the video made little otic little low-tech was a shock film made in 2000 but a lot of the footage from the grifter is taken directly from the movies trailer first of all the original post on 4chan included three screenshots which were all taken from little otic here the screenshots from the original Fortran thread alongside screenshots from the movie in addition the grifter video actually used a lot of the scenes from little otic here are some comparisons between the grifter video and little o tick last but not least the original poster of the thread admitted that the grifter was a hoax he said the grifter is indeed my work of fiction I started a thread about it after remembering the name from that tales from the darkside episode about a creature called the gritter that I saw when I was little I seemed that in the original thread a few times but it really caught on like wildfire picking the curiosity of those who wanted to see it along with the hive mind the trolls from be that acting an interest of my efforts but making their own claims having had seen it yes I hate to lie so I'll admit it I made the LED screen caps ripped from little o tick I'm surprised it took you guys as long as it did to identify them I was actually talking to a film major student from my school about shooting a video for the grifter this weekend but I had intended to splice him the scenes from the low-tech kind of ruin my plans any guys caught on though so hopefully you all learned something more about the origins of the grifter and enjoyed the video thank you for watching and I'll see you on the flipside
