mlas would be decided when 10 seats of Mumbai and the larger Mumbai Metropolitan region that's MMR go to polls during phase five of elections in Maharashtra let's take a look at the Final Phase of voting in the financial capital of India and why it matters as India decides in 2024 [Music] the two Union ministers whose fate would be decided our Union Commerce Minister push goyel who is a close Aid of prime minister Narendra Modi and minister of State for panchayati Raj Kapil pael both from the BJP and several from political families the seats in Mumbai going to polls are Mumbai South Mumbai South Central Mumbai North Central Mumbai Northeast Mumbai Northwest and Mumbai North the three seats in Tani District are tan Kalan and bandi the other seat is palar of these 10 seats five involve contests between akat shind LED Shiva and udhav Tak LED Shiva ubt other contests include two between BJP versus Congress two between BJP and Shiva ubt and one between BJP and sharat Paar Leed NCP SP Kalan would be an interesting seat to watch as Maharashtra chief minister akat shinde's son and two time sitting MP Dr shant shindai is contesting against shipa ubts vashali darar ran in neighboring bhandi minister of State for payti Raj Kapil patil of BJP is taking on Sur alas balam Mama mahat of NCP SP and n sambare who has support of the prakash edar LED wanit bahujan agari VBA in Mumbai South two time sitting MP and former Union heavy Industries Minister Arin Savant of shivsena ubt would take on shiva's Bala MLA yamini jadav in Mumbai North the Congress has fielded buhan pael to take on push goyel a BJP stward Maharashtra is a political headache for the political parties candidates and voters however the chance to come out and vote in the Parliamentary elections is a festival of democracy and that Inked finger is surely a momentous occasion for all who believe that India has a template for the world to follow Bureau report DD India well Maharashtra Final Phase of voting phase five and Maharashtra is over and out 48 seats the second largest state after utar Pradesh that sends 48 Member of Parliament of 48 MPS to Delhi the Final Phase we've got almost 13 seats in Maharashtra Maharashtra has voted across the five faes first phase five seats second phase eight seats 11 11 in phase three and four the Final Phase 13 seats in and around Mumbai that's what makes it interesting from Mumbai to nask what we looking at 13 seats that go to polls a quick look at voting day that's May 20th 13 seats Judgment Day June 4th quick look at Mumbai first of all you know that's where the big battle is Mumbai North the area that constitutes of Bihar sorry I beg B da mahat kandivli East charop along with mad West this is an interesting seat because this has got a political heavyweight from you know the prime minister's cabinet in the election freay we're going to look at that candidates later this is from where push goyel is fighting his electoral battle the first his first attempt at making his entry to Delhi from from the Lok SAA constituency of Mumbai North Mumbai Northwest you've got joesar dindoshi Gorga versova anderi West and East and this particular seat has been a Bastion that's shifted loyalties many a time how will it play this time around Mumbai nor Central viip parla chandi kurla Kina bandra West and East a mixed population that you would see but a seed judge generally throws surprises for every one of us Mumbai Northeast you we' got mulen violi Bandu West Gater East West makun along with shivaji nagar it always throws up something interesting because the candidate here was very much announced in advance so he has that first Mo Advantage especially fighting on that BJP ticket there miir Kota we're going to look at that too Mumbai South Central this is that anushakti nagar chembur Davi San kada Wadala mahim region the Mumbai South Central it's Anil side there you know from the Shiva udav takre team that's taking on another shenic so it's a battle of shi senic that you would see on this particular seat Mumbai South a final look among the six seats Worley baa Malabar Hill M Mumbai Dei along with Kaba there Arwin saand taking on the MLA yamini jadav on this particular seat this could also throw some interesting battles for us this was the seat that was held for a very long time by murli Deora well the Great Indian elections 2024 we are looking at election results in 2014 and 2019 BJP managed to win 30 23 and 2014 they stuck to that remember this particular tally 23 + 18 they were together in 2019 now the ship SAA is split into two you've got the NCP split into two and you know the the sides have also changed the shiv Sena UD AK is now a part of the opposition Alliance and you've got the BJP along with the NCP another faction of the NCP that's an offshoot of from sharat pawar's team that's now a part of the NDA campaign the voting percentage in Maharashtra in Mumbai you know you would generally see the trend which is much below the national average but sticking to that 60 61 range voting percentage across the year the assembly elections the BJP from 122 came down to 105 the congress not making much of a progress but there was an amalgamation of sorts when it comes to the government being put together and that's what makes you know discussions in Maharashtra pretty interesting remember none of the political forces on its own you know can go beyond 30% so you need to get that combinations together right to make it tick in Maharashtra assembly elections not much of change assembly elections almost on a very similar pattern but the post this general elections you will have assembly elections in Maharashtra yet again and all political parties sending feelers especially in understanding how this particular election would play out the contesting parties this time in Maharashtra BJP 28 Shi Sena this is the akat K faction fighting 15 seats the RSP fighting in one seat in perban NCP Ajit Paar with four remember look at these symbols the bow and arrow along with the clock this makes this election a bit more confusing especially for the voters the opposition block they to have got a combination right the Congress fighting on 17 the sharat Paar faction of NCP fighting on 10 the shiv SAA udav takre faction fighting on 21 seats that's how the opposition plays this elections also taking a look at all the seats as I mentioned Mumbai not push taking on par the gikas refused to fight the elections that's when the Mumbai uh the Congress had to field buhan parel uh in this election to take on push goyel a political heavyweight as he makes his debut in the Loa elections in this particular battle Mumbai northfest you've got ravindra wer who's a sitting MP and amol kitar his father is a part of the faction that belongs to the akat shind camp but since his son was given a ticket from the udav takre team the father refused to fight this election as a result of which the son is in the election freay in Mumbai Northwest moving to the next seat Mumbai Northeast as I mentioned Mi Kota a change this is from where kirit suaya had won the elections in 2014 Mi Kota been given the ele being given the ticket by the BJP and one of the early M Advantage because he was in that first list that was announced clearly having a lot of time to campaign Sanjay patil there has won the elections he's been in almost all the camps if you look at Sanjay patil has a unique feature he's been there almost in every Camp if you look at the Maharashtra elections the NCP the Congress the Shiva and now in the election battle mbai North Central you've got uwal nikam the prosecutor who was there especially you know getting that uh big case that he handle the ajal kasab case and he getting a polit he making his political debut Wasa Gad the state congress Chief or the Mumbai St Mumbai chief of the Congress fighting this election her father had won the seat way back I think if 2004 or 2009 he had won the seat the daughter back to reclaim that lost Glory finally Mumbai South Central you've got Anil Desa it's again a battle of the shiv senas the udav takre faction taking on the akna chind faction and that's where this particular battle in Mumbai gets interesting most of the seats in Mumbai where the shiv SAA UD of takre is fighting it's generally against the Shi Sena that's the akat shind faction so that's something interesting that we are looking at finally Mumbai South you've got Arn saand who's the sitting MP taking on yamini Jad from the Shiva and this is another battle that we are talking about between the two shift senas that you would see very regularly especially in these 13 seats that go to polls in the final phase finally shifting toan you've got Vare who's a sitting mp on this particular seat a challeng there once again from Shiva and also bsp making their triangle together in tan Kalan you've got the chief minister son there Dr Shri shind who's a two-time MP fighting on the shivsena ticket it's an udav takre opponent there on the other side you've got Vali Rani from the shipa taking on Shri Kant shindai bandi you've got couple parle taking on Suresh gopinath MRE from the NCP this is a seed that's been given to the NCP by that combine the opposition block combin and you've got aiim candidate that makes this contest a bit more interesting palar you've got the udav takre team having bharti the union health Minister bhi Kam there fighting these particular elections taking on Dr heon bishnu savare from the BJP and this is going to be another contest that we are looking at from fgar moving to the next seat that's s dulle you've got sha DH from the Congress taking on subash ramar from the BJP and the bsp completing this particular seat he's a two-time seating MP from the BJP looking for a third time place or a third time ticket to Delhi by winning this particular constituency of Dule moving to dindori you've got Dr bharti pawar this is where I went wrong Dr bti Paar Union MOS Health uh fighting this election on a BJP ticket taking her on is bascar bhare from the NCP sharat Paar faction finally nask nasik is another interesting battle it's again a battle between the two Shi senas that we are looking at a three-time MP there himon fighting this election the sh on a shiena ticket and challenging him is once again the udav takre team member there prakash vaj fighting hon go on this particular seat in nask so it's an interesting battle when it comes to the final 13 seats that we are looking at from Maharashtra and we've got our correspondent Shish Shar joining us from Maharashtra from Mumbai in particular shashir is there too much on the plate to choose you know now that you have two shift senas two ncps you know so many logos put together so many symbols put together you know are the people of Mumbai confused and are the partymen equally confused when it comes to campaigning for their candidates well absolutely that's for the people are concerned let me tell you that they're quite happy that they got a very good options well I believe a tough battle for all the political parties because we have seen here that earlier in Maharashtra there used to be two faction that is the uh ND Alliance or we can call it uh the up Alliance earlier which is now the uh Alliance as well but this time around uh even the NBA Alliance and India Alliance are fighting against each other but inside they different Camp probably and each Camp is battling against each other for example uh if you talk about Mumbai specifically you rightly said that Mumbai have six seats uh but in Mumbai we have seen that UD Tak the Sha Tak Camp is fighting again with the SHA chind camp and with the BJP as well because this time around uh we know that you know a few few years back probably we could say that uh sha has a very stronghold in Mumbai but what we've seen in the last uh know Municipal elections that BJP has got a quite good uh support in Mumbai and some of the areas of suburban uh Mumbai that's why you have seen that the mlas of BJP has increased from this region uh We've also seen that uh know the corporators have also the numbers of corporators have also increased and now the BJP is also aiming on the Member of Parliament obviously uh as far as the Northeast seats are concerned BJP has a very good hold on it as far as Mumbai nor seat is concerned again uh the BJP uh is doing quite well on the seat we have seen that the legend like Ram Nik also contested the former Minister were contesting contested from the uh North seat also Mumbai North constituency this time around we've seen the P go Le fighting from the Mumbai North se you can imagine that how strong uh the city is for the BJP on the other hand we also seen that BJP has also entered into the uh know the in know Suburban areas of Mumbai and this time around they've given ticket to ual nikam this seat belongs to earlier Mahajan family and we've seen that the Punam Mahajan contested on this seat this time around uh instead of giving ticket to Punam Mahajan the BJP chose uh public prosecutor usual nikam obviously you can imagine that how confident the BJP is to get those seats even they have changed the candidate but it seems that they're confident that again they will win the seat so obviously the numbers are increasing of BJP as far as Mumbai is concerned and again the ud Tak has to battle with the BJP and again they'll have to battle with the SHA in the camp so it's quite a tough task for the ud tag in Mumbai this time around as far as seat sharing is concerned the Congress but where is the Congress is uh because once uh Mumbai was a Bas of Congress you know if you look at the early 70s early 80s uh probably I know we have seen that before the rise of shua it was Congress who has handling single-handedly but now we have seen here that the Congress has confined to couple of seats as far as Member of Parliament seats are concerned in Mumbai okay and that's a major concern okay we'll leave it there thank you appreciate you joining us you've had a busy day ahead you had you were profl looking at you know our correspondent made a mention about it 2004 2009 51 BJP versus Congress 20096 if you put NCP one seat but post 2014 2019 we've seen a 33 seat sharing between the BJP and the shipa on this particular Mumbai six seats in Mumbai what's been the Paradigm Shift especially when it comes to Mumbai you know suddenly you know the BJP picking up pace in this financial capital of India see there are two things we need to understand one organizationally uh shua uh Congress and NCP both has weakened drastically post 2009 in Mumbai region uh earlier we you know stalwarts like Sunil D or later priad that used used to be you know from this uh uh Central Mumbai region uh especially the bandra region you know they they used to have uh now that has completely akat gwad you mentioned uh so they used to have their own individual you know committed voters that kind of leadership is completely missing uh in Mumbai two BJP shiena on platter what they got uh uh earlier it used to be like whether you know it will be marati versus non marati kind of thing but sha BJP brought a perfect combination of marati Gujarati speaking together and to some extent what changed in post 2009 is with the Modi wave the North Indian voters which is a huge chunk they have shifted their loyalties which used to be earlier on anti-a Plank what BJP did there on these particular seats where you are you know uh earlier Punam Mahajan contested uh so all these seats all all these seats basically have even for that matter North Mumbai North it has a huge you know North Indian voters so there I think the real combination worked out for BJP and Sena but I'm glad you know the the way you have explained it now it is very clear we have seen the battle politically fighting out between two shenas we have seen a legal battle battle in the courts even at the election commission doors now it is for voters to decide which you is real sh that Mumbai because because this is the region Mumbai tan Kalan Nas this is the region where it used to be a shiena stronghold now it is going to decide with sha and I'm very particular about tan seat because tan uh virtually made it at one point it used to be bjp's stronghold whether uh parans and then Ram Kap used to contest from there after that shua took it in that tussle and and since then it has been uh you know Sha's stronghold and akat chind earlier his mentor D used to literally control pan and now Rajan vichar he's supposed to be a very old shua hand a loyalist with uh and mus is contesting against him so this battle is a battle for akat shind when when he's proving that my sha is true sha and I have got this SE from BJP uh and continued that Legacy that basab had started so this tan and of course his you know Kalan B region so all all all these three seats are going to be very very crucial okay Mr Mr Paran how does one take a look at you know tan Kalan bandi three seats you know the shiv SAA is fighting on two this is a Bastion from where the chief minister comes is this a Prestige issue we looking at you know wherever shivsena is fighting you've got an udav takre uh opponent you know taking him head on so it's a battle of prestige it's a battle to decide which is the real shsa in one way now this uh Luka election will be decisive on whether which is really sha that is whether it is owned byat shind or UD Tak that is for Bombay Nas as well as Kalan b k Municipal Corporation limits and as far as these three seats are concerned Kalan tan and bandi there what will ultimately people will prove is who is real disciple of Anand Anand at one time was like the boss of Tani who really ruled Tani like anything he was like extra constitutional Authority in Tani and shind is disciple of Anand as well as r is disciple of Anand so contesting election against Rajan shind is contesting not only NES mus so it will prove supremacy of whether it isnat shind or Rajan Vare as far as tan is concerned akna chind son is contesting in the other constituency which I think he will win and chind will put his might there but as far as B is concern against the sitting MP and Mos Kapil p they have filled a compar comparably a weak candidate by opposition and I think that election is easy for Kapil ptil but tan definitely is going to decide whether akat chind is real disciple of Anand or Rajan is the disciple of the and as far as Bombay seats are concerned as my friend explained about W nikam and Gwar's contest there is an additional element to it that Baba Siddiki X MLA of Congress he was loyalist to D and that family has shifted flag and he has joined Ajit PA's NCP that is also going to help in a way mhm okay uh you know Raul when one takes a look at Mumbai in particular the six seats in Mumbai we've spoken about Tane Kalan bandi but which among the six seats you know you think we're going to see a tight contest I I will put my finger on the south seat because Arin Arin s has been hand he has been a allog together loyalist and and generally South Mumbai traditionally we have seen a lower water turnout very high uh Posh locality area so it will be very interesting how does but but remember uh Kam jadav is a very strong she's she's MLA from Bala and then she and her husband known to be a very uh strong hands in in that region so it will be really Rel interesting for the South seat uh another important Dimension you know we shouldn't forget uh everywhere you have mention the third candidate uh in in in of course not in Mumbai region but all over Maharashtra there were at least 13 seats where uh prakash ambedkar and his W bjan aadii uh played a you know kind of spoiler uh for for congress NCP that time yes uh this time also if you see the kind of candidates they have given most of them are either Muslims or coming from schedule cast so they are going to play a very important role uh not just victory but even the margin uh because there are certain Pockets even even bsp candidates bsp candidates are going to play very crucial role uh so all these seats if you see uh even even in South in Bola region there is a substantial Muslim vote uh and and uh there is a Muslim candidate from uh bsp so uh I I I think this is going to play a very very decisive role at least in couple of constitu Mr pan looking at theit bahujan nari you know prakash ambedkar's faction how does one see you know if this would have been managed by the opposition do you see this battle getting a bit more interesting and you know most of the seats where they have fielded the candidate as Raul put it it makes the seat a bit of a triangular contest you know does that add more pressure on which side you know how will the pressure be applied on either sides is laid by prakash edar Dr ambedkar's grandson and the point is that his party doesn't have adequate strength to win a single seat he once had won aola seat where he's contesting right now but other than that whatever candidates he has fielded in the field in the contest are going to spoil the prospects of mavas aardi that is Congress NCP and UDA as far as South Bombay is concerned the candidate is not going to only F votes from Bala the Muslim candidate but he's going to also P the votes from Amin Patel's constituency that is B and Mumba the constituency name is but it has sizeable Muslim voters so yam's task will be a bit smooth as far as the third can is concerned but Arin s is a strong and South bomb contest also has another dimension uh xos mil DEA who was a strong Congress family murra son has shifted and he gone to akat sh's camp and he has been made rajasa MP that is also going to help yamini zad in a way so representation of the third candidate whether it is bsp or W bjan aadi it is going to definitely help BJP or IND for that matter the Stark example will be in shiridi one of the strongest candidates from VBA is in shiridi who is definitely going to help mahay or NDA candidate okay since you one important Point here here we need to understand aola when when prakash edar wanted to contest from there he openly gave seven days to Congress NCP and UD takre group and he said if you are not going to take a decision in 7 days I'm going to field everywhere so he wanted support in in rest of the places he was ready to support for some strange reason not getting a political right is another big headache of Elections but Arin sa as you know pul Kar mentioned remember in 2019 Mur Deora had the backing of Mr Amani backing him but then to Arin Arin s managed to win that seat so
