The Great Glen Canoe Trail I Much Better Adventures

[Music] we're getting a flight to inverness going to be doing a five-day canoeing and wild camping trip [Applause] [Music] i don't even know where i am apart from the black isles [Music] when i got off the flight i met a guy called mike at the bus station we sat around for an hour and a half waiting for a bus and then when we got to m s we went for a few drinks we ended up doing a pub call and now i am in black isle which is like an hour away from mnf it's 7 a.m oh my god i'm so far away from the meeting spot which i meant to meet at nine o'clock i had no sleep and uh drank a lot of whiskey last night showered changed breakfasted [Music] just put all our stuff in these barrels which we are going to now carry up to the start point and then we're going to get down into loch ness at some point [Applause] [Music] after captain wins [Music] [Applause] [Music] we are on loch ness so funny isn't it it's like windy one minute raining the next really scorching hot the next i got my tent up in record time really proud of that it was actually quite a long day of um just canoeing the whole day yeah i was like oh i'm not doing this for the next four days only five days of this going to go help them with some dinner in a minute i'm knackered so here's my little tent this is my little tent village what you got there then gareth oh nice bit of salmon salmon and costco yes please chris oh no worries thanks so much say hi morning morning what's for breakfast jason megan roll they can roll yes please all my stuff fits in this barrel so that's my tent and all my clothes put in the back on the canoes now and we're gonna go do the next stint of this 100k adventure [Music] 26 and we did 12 yesterday right got a bit choppy today we've had to tie the boats together the winds got out [Music] done we nearly lost jason in the sand he got out and nearly disappeared what we got [Music] oh [Music] us and it was such a struggle but today the wind is for us so we are putting these sails on there's three portages today the first one for augusta is a bit of a bit of a long one there's a bit of italian stuff you can even get real coffee and stuff as well martha can't believe it i can't do that i need to get my rudder in heading towards fort guthrie it might be raining and windy and cold but i'm having the best time we've got such an awesome group here we're in the middle of lot now paddling our days away i haven't looked at my phone for like three days jason and i having lots of crazy chats storming through [Music] i was like we're gonna go in we made it to the end of loch ness guys from one side to the other hell i'm not even beginning to tell you how windy it was and so we had the sail up and we were like flying across and i was trying to like keep it steady amazing but at times like we tipped slightly and it felt like we were going to go in we just felt like so small in amongst these huge waves you know when you go through something like that and then you come out you're like oh the emotions of that i feel a bit like on it on the edge a little bit say goodbye [Music] how you doing [Music] hi ho hi ho it's after the luck we go you have to know this is the distance that we've done and this is the distance that we've got today [Music] over halfway guys [Music] this is where we're pitching our tents tonight [Music] me and jason have incredible views cheers i'm on the wine tonight excellent happy video we found a waterfall right let's go find those blues now that's where we were headed [Music] this place is stunning just got very used to being wet the entire time but i can deal with that because of views like this me [Music] [Music] we are at our final campsite i went to go find a little spot to go to the toilet and i came across this little babbling brook decided i'm just gonna have a little lie down and a sunbathe then nervous in the background i feel like you can't say it's a nice day here you have to say it's a nice hour jason and i are on our our evening explores that we usually do and we found an abandoned boat look at this thing [Music] has everyone got their port and their cheese here's to chris and the great glenn and the lost water bottle and a little bit of dignity and pride along the way so great meeting you all it's so crazy tonight we are like basically camping in a wind tunnel it feels like like over there it's just like blowing a hoolie as becky would say then you just come down here to the street i'm so peaceful and quiet and so lovely i have sort of sort of just put in my tent here on its own it's all pitched now so i'm not gonna bother what's that chris scrambled eggs nice [Music] getting the base packed up for our final 10k of this trip that's been never said of that [Music] where are we jason williams in the end 100k from inverness to fort william and the others are just coming in now too sienna hello welcome to bobby [Music] thanks chris [Music] oh yeah you
