oh [ __ ] here we go again grand theft auto san andreas was released in 2004 developed by rockstar north and is the seventh gta game in the series this is seen as one of the most beloved game in the series and for a lot of people the game that got them into grand theft auto it follows carl cj johnson who comes back from san andreas following the death of his mother which pulls him back into his old gang and his old life of crime where he also goes up against corrupt cops and rival gangs this game also added a lot of role play elements like leveling up your skills and even had a gym where you could work out and look buff or you could eat a ton of fast food puke and get fat back of your neck look like a pack of hot dogs yeah well you look like something i leave in the toilet which for its time was groundbreaking in fact i can't think of any game that tried that again the game had a very rags to riches theme just like gta vice city had but with also added elements like gang wars casinos and a ton more stuff what a treasure of a game the crazy thing is while gta 4 and 5 had better graphics and some modernized controls they removed a lot of the rpg aspects and side content that san andreas introduced which keeps it as one of the most unique games in the series today we are going to take a deep dive into the world of san andreas by taking a look at this iceberg we found on reddit posted by user benny gta san andreas if you don't know what an iceberg is simply put it's a tier list that goes from the most known facts myths or secrets and the deeper we go the more obscure the facts myths and secrets get as always we removed added and rearranged certain sections of this iceberg to enhance your viewing experience this is a big one so strap in and get ready because subcultured presents the grand theft auto san andreas iceberg explained [Music] hidden interior universe or the heavens in every gta there will be a hidden area with like an easter egg like a literal easter egg or a sign that says you weren't supposed to get here you know however in san andreas there is a place that you literally shouldn't be able to go this place is called the heavens or hidden interiors universe which has all the interiors of the game on one map some beta interiors and secret interiors are there as well over 150 rooms this place is called the heavens because it's so high up in the map that not even planes or the jet pack can reach it it's past the possible height limit that a player can go to the only way to reach it is by going to the gant gym kill all the people inside go to a specific spot between a wall and a punching bag and use the jet pack to fly through the ceiling and you'll be in the hidden interiors universe pretty creepy there but really cool bigfoot one of the most known myths from gta san andreas was the elusive bigfoot just like in real life people began speculating about bigfoot being in the game the myth itself got more news coverage than the game itself at one point and gamers everywhere hunted for the creature no one actually found the creature but modders decided to cash in on the news and made hoax videos to fool the public this myth began because of the brochure the game included had a thanks to section and inside had bigfoot's name on it in 2005 terry donovan the co-founder of rockstar games along with the hauser brothers was interviewed where he said just like in real life there is no bigfoot even after this interview there was still a pretty dedicated community to people who believe that bigfoot is in the game when modders went into the game files they didn't find any textures of bigfoot and believers say that files were removed during the re-release of the game after the hot coffee fiasco which wouldn't make any sense considering bigfoot wasn't found in the original game files either even after all the debunkings people still believe gta 5 made a joke about this myth having a bigfoot in the game there was a hunter who has been looking for bigfoot for eight years which at the time san andreas had been released nine years earlier during a later mission franklin will see bigfoot and begin a chase where you'll eventually shoot him and you find out that it was just a man in a bigfoot costume just after almost a decade of searching and you finally find him it ends up being a hoax touche rockstar touche little probe in in bone county there is a ufo themed bar which is near area 69 gta's cheeky version of area 51. this place is based on a real place called little ali in which supposed to sound like little alien which gta's version sounds like little probing which is what aliens do apparently whenever they see humans they have to probe them they have to stick something in them in the back room there is an easter egg where you could find a beta map of san andreas very similar to the easter egg to that in vice city at sunshine autos having the beta map in this map we can see bayside which doesn't exist in the game and also san fierro bay which cannot be found as well cut songs one of the biggest travesties was when gta san andreas pc port had a steam update that actually removed 17 songs from the game because of licensing agreements needless to say people got pissed off about this but not as pissed off as when they found out that the update corrupted their game save files what a disaster the panopticon the panopticon is a logging camp northwest of red county while at first there doesn't seem like much is going on around here with further inspection we can see one of the cabins has stains of blood on the floor and walls a lot of people have speculated that this is an homage to leather face from the texas chainsaw massacre films also another interesting fact is the name panopticon is a term used for prisons that are in a large circular shape which is for the guards to be able to see all the prisoners at once epsilon program the epsilon program is a religious cult in the universe and is now a staple in the grand theft auto series but it started in gta san andreas they are mentioned on the radio you hear npcs talk about them and you can even find their church and certain locations where their rituals take place at night for example the blue glowing lights which we'll talk more about later with all of these references we can put two and two together and realize that they are a religious cult that is a scam with even one of their members saying a fellowship of like-minded adults who tend money in exchange for salvation and merit badges they are seemingly a parody of the real world religion of scientology there are many references to them in gta and even a few nods to them in red dead redemption 2 but a really notable fact about the epsilon cult is that they started as a teaser for grand theft auto san andreas in the way of a fake website that promoted the scam cult you could see the website using the way back machine back oh beyond okay you're going to hear me say back go beyond a lot in this video okay baco beyond is the most secluded place in gta san andreas besides the highway there is a thick forest rocks and hills making it very difficult to walk through this area being what it is and being called backhoe beyond is the perfect formula for myth hunters to claim they saw something strange or unsettling this is the specific spot of the bigfoot myth we talked about earlier but also other myths such as ghost cars pigsy or slenderman another interesting thing is that there is a lake that if you partly submerge your car into the car will become invisible if viewed from above and lastly since this is the place where the famous bigfoot is supposed to be lurking it's really interesting to see that back of beyond on the map is actually shaped like a foot man rockstar really likes to mess with people suicidal photographer speaking of the area back of beyond there is an area beside the lake where a photographer npc will spawn and take pictures of the lake and then will suddenly walk into the water and die the photographer will spawn one of a few different models and do one of two different behaviors either bend down on their knee and take a photo or stand and then eventually take a photo and then after they're finished those actions they will walk directly into the water and die even if you try to change their path by aiming a gun at them they will have the surrender animation but then eventually stop surrendering and then walk off into the water and die like it's just always death for them while this looks like some sort of siren call or some sort of junji ito horror unsettling situation it's most likely due to a path english that doesn't have a line for the pedestrian to go to a road without going through the water so the pedestrian starts to walk to the closest path automatically in a straight line modders have used a map editor to add a path from the pedestrian for the pedestrian to walk over and then he will eventually go to the sidewalk in the rodeo district across the lake ghost cars this was one of the most popular myths when the game came out and actually the very first myth to be proven real there is a version of the car the glendale that differs in the game in the game files it's called the glenn [ __ ] which is essentially the exact same car but every part of the car has been dented in these cars cannot be repaired at the painting spray or using cheats which is a very strange oddity in itself however what makes one of these cars in particular strange is that in the back of beyond area there is one that will spawn near the side of a hill where eventually the momentum will cause the car to slide down the hill making it look like it's being driven by nobody hot coffee this one is known by most people as it was a situation the news covered a lot and sparked back up the influence of video games and started new protests against some games such as killer 7 the sims 2 and bully in the original release of the game there was a mini-game where cj was able to have sex with any of the six girlfriends he could have in the game this game mode was disabled but not removed from the game files itself so when the game was out on pc there was a mod that would turn this mini-game back on because of this the game's rating was reassessed and changed from a mature rating to an ao adult only rating by the esrb ratings board the game was then completely banned in australia and in the us and had 85 percent of its copies taken off the shelves and the next versions of san andreas to be produced were an updated version of the game that removed it from the files completely in 2005 hillary clinton went hard at rockstar for this and her and a few others introduced the family protection act which called for a federal mandate to enforce the esrb rating system for every game that is sold on the shelves hillary went so hard at them that in gta 4 if a player goes to the statue of happiness rockstar's version of the statue of liberty you can see hillary clinton's face on it it was just to take a shot at her blue hell we've already talked about the heaven alternate universe but blue hell is the name players give the area under the map where you could see all the models above you you're inside some sort of video game purgatory down there and a lot of games have this kind of glitch there are many ways to glitch the game and spots on the map where the player can fall into but if the player falls into blue hell when they hit a certain point they will be teleported to the nearest civilian pathway this was done on purpose so the player wouldn't fall indefinitely there are so many ways to get into blue hell but the best way is by using the jet pack because then you're able to actually fly underneath and explore the underside of the san andreas map xbox 360 and ps3 port gta san andreas was at the time of its release seen as one of the best gta games ever made it was originally released on the ps2 and later at the pc but when it was time for the game to be ported to the ps3 and xbox 360 in 2005 it was outsourced to war drum studios and was a horrible porch that had so many issues the fact that this version was called the hd remastered version is just insult to injury really reminds me of the silent hill hd remastered game that got butchered even with this game being an hd remaster the graphics are somehow worse with tons of bugs that make the game look like complete garbage i am not going to get into it because if i read every problem that these ports had in this video it just wouldn't end it would just be non-stop me telling you why this game is a pile of [ __ ] but you can go ahead and pause the video if you want to read about the issues north star rock but this one is near the panopticon with the blood covered floor log cabin if you look at the in-game map you will see a rock called north rock but in the map that comes with a manual of the game the area is called north star rock of course being an easter egg that when you shuffle the words it will read rockstar north the developers of the game mike torino beta map there is a character called mike torino who is the government agent who owns this ranch located in the tiara robada location this ranch will eventually become a safe house for cj and the house also contains the exact same beta map that we talked about earlier they just tossed in two beta maps just in case you missed one of them franklin from five voice san andreas pedestrian it is well known that sean fontano was just learning to act when he was in gta 5. while the actors who played michael and trevor had experience shawn was more of a new star however what you may not know is that he did voice acting for pedestrians and san andreas young melee who was the voice of cj is actually cousins with sean fontano which is probably how he got the job and i guess kept up a good rep with rockstar to the point to be one of the stars in one of the most ambitious games of all time andromeda this plane is considered as one of the most rarest vehicles in the game and is mainly used for some missions you need to do the interior of the plane during the cut scenes actually don't take place in the plane itself but has a separate room in the interior universe we talked about earlier while people have tried finding an available version to fly in the game they have been unsuccessful and the plane can sometimes be seen out of the missions but flying in the air past the area where a player can go to there was a quest that you can glitch out to keep the plane and speedrunners will use this trick to save some time this could only be done on the pc version but not using a steam edition it has to be on rockstar's actual downloader and it also works on the ps2 version besides spawning the plane and the mission this is the only way to fly this plane tommy cut from the game we did a grand theft auto vice city iceberg a month ago which starred tommy vassetti check out that video if you haven't it's a good one well the actor who played tommy's voice is none other than ray liotta this is probably why i loved that character so much from vice city not only is he a badass who takes over vice city but he also has the voice of ray liotta who stars in one of my personal favorite movies of all time goodfellas well he was supposed to actually be in san andreas and he is mentioned in the game particularly by ken rosenberg his former associate who's also invite city who tommy dropped after becoming a drug addict and slipping up one too many times the reason why tommy's voice isn't recorded is because ray liotta and rockstar had a dispute about how much effort he put into voicing tommy in vice city basketball mini game the basketball courts in the game will have a ball in them that the player can pick up and shoot hoops with the further the player is the more points the player gets while there is no proper basketball in game like you can't challenge other opponents you could start a mini game timer that will see how many points that you can get within a certain time there is no benefit to this minigame besides a little distraction nice touch rockstar nice touch drive through confessions there is a place advertised in the manual that you could visit called drive through confessions with its tagline being park and prey in the back of the church you could find a sarcophagus that has been shifted open with no body seen inside players have speculated that zombies could be found here at certain times at night which has not been proven there are also two tombstones with developers names on them casino debt another cool thing that san andreas added to the franchise was being able to gamble at the casinos which was definitely a must considering one of the cities you can visit is los venturas which is a rock star version of las vegas so it would be blasphemy for them to not include gambling if the player is out of money though they will be able to borrow buddy from a casino when playing at a table when the player has more than 500 dollars in debt they could leave the casino but they will be persistently attacked by armed gunmen around lost venturas while driving around and the more in debt the player is the more gunmen will attack them and be more aggressive the player can pick up money dropped by the gunmen if killed to slowly pay back their debt cj's mom pedestrian you're able to see a picture of cj's mom during one of the early cut scenes in the game and funny enough you could find the exact model of cj's mom with the same clothes within everything walking around as a pedestrian i am honestly shocked and proud that in this section of the iceberg it wasn't called cj's mom is a ghost big smoke beta model in the game big smoke is one of the main characters in the early game and had a much different look than his iconic green glasses and hat outfit the files of beta big smoke are still in the game and can be modded in the final version of big smoke's look is way better though in my opinion more recognizable and represents the grove street gang way more appropriately the farm cult location we've already discussed the epsilon program earlier in the video and the farm located in flint county is where they have their mysterious meetings the way we know this is where most likely where the epsilon program is having their meetings is in the original manuals of the game the map that came inside says cult location the only other cult would refer to the survivalists but the glowing blue lights inside at night are in fact part of the epsilon program it's their color scheme blue the interesting thing is that the blue lights are a very rare occurrence and players even modders cannot figure out the specific trigger for what makes these lights glow mr whoopi mr whoopi is an ice cream company mentioned in most gta games in the 3d universe of course the reference is to sex it's obvious you know the term being whoopi being a way of politely saying sex and the visuals of the truck are very let's just say not very subtle at all while you can find it in san andreas you can input the beach party cheat or the clown theme cheat and they will spawn way more often as they are rare otherwise only spawning in certain locations the driver of mr whoopi in san andreas is an obese man who is dressed like a clown and i'm pretty sure it's safe to assume that he kidnaps children can we all just agree that he kidnaps kids yeah all right c-w-m-y-h-b-1 this is the nickname for a specific pedestrian which means country white male young hillbilly and this is the pedestrian that is usually connected to any zombie myths in the game or the leather face myth that we talked about earlier some modders even modded the character with a chainsaw attacking cj and made hoax videos to try to trick people since this is a deformed looking character modders nicknamed him the zombie pedestrian alcatraz and beta we talked about the beta maps that you could find in the game and we could see a little island off of san fierro which is rockstar's version of san francisco this island was supposed to be alcatraz but was removed right before the game's launch and replaced with another smaller island closer to the main island modders are of course doing the lord's work and added in an alcatraz in the area it was supposed to be located cut skateboard san andreas added some very unique vehicles one of the vehicles was supposed to be a skateboard which would have also doubled as a melee weapon unfortunately it was cut last minute which sucks because it would have been so chill to take a nice skate through san andreas but of course like most beta things there's a mod for it they would bring the skateboard to another rockstar game a few years later san andreas was released in 2004 and in 2006 bully had jimmy hopkins have the skateboard however it was just used as the way to get around and not as a melee weapon that skateboard from bully was so addicting to use and would have been awesome in san andreas or even gta4 gta 5 just saying some of the assets still exist of the skateboard's existence in the gta san andreas files angel on a rock for this one we're going back to back oh beyond where we can find a rock with what looks to be an angel on it when i first saw this image i thought it looked to be like pyramid head and according to my research i'm not alone in seeing pyramid head in this a lot of hoax videos were created of what looked to be an angel floating near the top of mount chiliad and a lot more people connected this imagery with what at the time was thought to be a true paranormal video however if we look carefully at the textures we can mirror the texture and see it's the same texture but mirrored on two separate polygons making this most likely just an optical illusion floating trees and back all beyond yep you guessed it we are still in back oh beyond and at this point these floating trees can be found so easily i mean it like it could be i mean you could easily think of this as like a simple miss by the qa and bug team but honestly with the amount of [ __ ] that's been going on out here i'm starting to think that these are not just coincidences i honestly wouldn't be surprised if these trees were put here just with players impound lots the impound lots are at police stations located around the city and can be used by players to get back vehicles that they lost when a cutscene was playing and then the vehicle just vanished into thin air or any abandoned vehicles the player left behind the only way to legally enter the impound lots is by getting a police vehicle and once inside you will see all the cars that you lost during cutscenes or abandoned sometimes random vehicles that the player never drove will be inside and sometimes vehicles that you lost will not show up but this is a cool feature that i personally never knew about if the player tries to enter the impound lot without a police vehicle a guard will hold you up until you leave and if you don't leave the call for backup and the player will get three stars the funny thing is not many players know about the impound lot and this is because there was a mission called impounded that was cut right before the game's release that was supposed to be the introduction to impound lots where the mission impounded being cut from the game it really hit this feature milli key card texture your character can have a girlfriend called millie who works for the casino who at first seems like a normal innocent girl and then you see her her her sex dungeon what the [ __ ] and this is also how you unlock the [ __ ] suit pulp fiction anyone well there is a card you need to get from her to do the casino heist and the image of the card has this image of a man named officer p rowe which is strange considering that this is actually a character who works in the vice city police department and the same card is used for a mission for vice city but this asset was reused for san andreas were they literally that lazy that they couldn't just put a new name and faith on that card drug dealing in beta there are some files that are unused still in the game that makes it possible for cj to buy and sell drugs the game has so many features that are still in the game but not everything made the cut not sure why this wasn't used but probably because it wasn't fleshed out enough or because they thought they'd get banned or something again modders have taken the files and restored them and even added to this drug dealing minigame question mark and back oh beyond yep we're back at back over on what you thought we were gonna leave and that was it players can zoom in with a camera or a sniper rifle standing in a particular spot of the area and see what is described as a branch in the shape of a question mark if viewed from the south the question mark is mirrored and vice versa if viewed from the north the significance of this is unknown however some players speculate that its purpose is to coax players into exploring it more thoroughly as bacco beyond is home to all of these myths coach minigame from vice city we miss this one in our vice city iceberg actually but it can be done in both vice city and in san andreas a player can steal a coach bus in the game and stop at bus stops throughout the city and whenever an npc walks in player will receive five dollars not really viable to make money but just a really cool little subtle detail store that has pokemon and mickey mouse texture a store located in east beach los santos called giget's regallos roughly translates to toy gifts in english has a banner that depicts ash ketchum pikachu and squirtle from the pokemon series along with mickey and minnie mouse this banner is present even in the ps2 version but is difficult to see due to the limited resolution as a result it is more easily viewed on the pc port this may have been an oversight by the developers as opposed to being a deliberate easter egg and could be related to another entry in this iceberg concerning the usage of real life signage and photos as textures in the game psychopath pedestrian the psychopath pedestrian is an unnamed and unused pedestrian that could be found referenced in some of the files in gta san andreas known only by the name psycho.txd his model is that of a hispanic man in a black beanie green bomber jacket and military pants and shoes and has an angry face regardless of the context due to this psycho pedestrian not having any defined role in the game's code many rumors and myths have developed from trying to figure out his role if any at all some say he was supposed to be a street criminal that would wreak havoc in the streets thus the name psycho or simply be a military model set to be back in area 69 and or kacc military fuels some fans have even a sinister backstory for him a normal member of the military until snapping one day perhaps due to dwindling sanity none of these rumors have been proven so this man is still a mystery discovered cheat codes some cheat codes for grand theft auto san andreas were published by rockstar themselves but some of them were discovered by a user named edison carter over at gta forums edison carter found a method to attach his ps2 or his ps2 controller to his pc's serial port and caused random inputs to be made in the game and when he saw it she activated he wrote these codes down and tried to deduce their efforts upon gameplay if there were any some of the cheats he discovered with this method included infinite health never get hungry adrenaline mode six star wanted level and a few more more cheat codes were found about six months after release and not through edison carter's method tech savvy players over at gta san andreas dot net interpreted the hash values made by different combinations of button presses and then compare those resulting values with the values made by cheat codes programmed in the game due to the way the game's cheats are programmed in it was discovered that every cheat has a massive number of different button combinations that can trigger it with an estimated of over 200 000 working combinations real-life store textures the textures used for decorating the interior locations explorable and san andreas along with some exterior decals were mostly made from real photos taken by the developers or stock photos in the public domain a thread on gtaforums.com gives a couple of good examples such as a basement of an abandoned ac tower containing hanging photos of real pictures depicting historically important airplanes from the 1930s another example from forum user man hank was able to trace a banner that says 98c and swap meet which can be seen throughout the game he was able to track down the sign on google maps and it appears to still be hanging up at the time the photos were taken from the street view feature gta san andreas was originally going to be bullied i have no idea where this rumor started but there is absolutely no evidence that this is even slightly true it is obvious that gta said andreas was supposed to be what it is because of how popular the franchise is pedestrian voice actors the craziest thing about all the gtas is the sheer amount of voice actors that play the part of pedestrians or radio voices while scrolling through the imdb you can see a bunch of actors however there are a ton of people who only have san andreas in their credits make the world global way was released after 1992 rockstar has always been strict when it comes to the music used for the radio stations and the time periods the real songs were released matching the time period the game takes place in however the song make the world go away by mickey gilly was actually released in 1999 it was an odd decision to keep this song in the game since the game takes place in 1992 headless cj glitch while in two-player mode and after activating the infinite health cheat for cj the second player can hack cj's head off with a katana leaving cj without a head and a fountain of blood spraying from the wound mandela effect in the game in case you don't know what the mandela effect refers to it's a phenomenon in which a large number of people seem to realize that they aren't remembering something correctly at the same time or they'll remember something that's completely contrary such as the namesake of the term nelson mandela tons of people recall hearing news of his passing a decade or more before it took place or the famous bernstein bernstein bears example and this is also in san andreas and all the older gtas as people can be found online discussing their memory of the game only having five stars as its max wanted system as opposed to the six stars in reality in fact when i played gta vice city for the last video and san andreas for this video i was like wait six stars really how am i remembering this wrong so this actually happened to me while making these videos the truth is the reason people probably don't think of six stars as the max wanted level is because gta 5 kept it at 5 stars and for the older grand theft autos while you could get 6 stars you have to be in the final area of the game to unlock that max potential star limit bmx poker chip contest in 2005 rockstar and official xbox magazine held a contest for a grand theft auto san andreas branded bmx bike subscribers received an issue that came attached with a package from the ford dragons casino upon which the contest's rules were written an inside a poker chip could be found out of all the poker chips distributed 10 lucky readers would find a blind dragon wearing sunglasses and carrying a cane on the chips and find themselves the winner of the san andreas bmx bike las brugesa's cult the last bruises is a ghost town that you could find near area 69 los bruges translates from spanish to the witches or sorceresses some people believe that this ghost town is based on an abandoned ghost town called bodhi in california and when you put the pictures side by side damn they do look the same while the town is empty there is references to people actually using this town because if you are in an emergency vehicle on the radio you will hear you got a hysterical old woman in lost bruises she says she's a witch or something kurt cobain there is an npc that you can see wandering the streets of san andreas that has a very striking resemblance to the late nirvana frontman kurt cobain whether or not this was intentional is up for debate but it would make sense thematically as san andreas is set in 1992 one year after their hit record never mind debuted the npc features kurt's trademark hairstyle dirty blonde long and parted down the middle and the outfit heavily resembles the one kurt war for nirvana's historic mtv unplugged performance gta san andreas is the most spiritual game ever made this is either a meme or or is this reality maybe we don't see it but maybe san andreas is what we really need to look at when we think of the meaning of life the meaning of existence itself maybe when we want to understand life we need to understand san andreas all the answers of this charade we call existence can be unlocked simply if we read between the lines no but seriously uh there are some forums where people like 10 years ago talked about how how they had a spiritual experience while playing san andreas
